Hi I purchased 2 tickets for my in-laws to visit us in different state and their medical conditions worsened (one in hospice care) so I had to cancel the flight and received non-transferable credit. Can there be any exception in transferring the credit to myself so I can go visit them? They are not in good health to get on the flight probably never in the remaining time of their lives. I bought the tickets with my credit card and we share same last name. Just different first name...

What you can do is purchase I wanna get away plus tickets for close to the same price in their name, then cancel them and they become transferrable. You can then transfer to your rapid reward account.

but the in-laws have to be Rapid Rewards members in order to transfer credit.

Thank you all so much!
I created Southwest accounts for them to get Rapid Rewards# and then purchased new tickets as "get away plus tickets" in their name and then cancel the new plus tickets and the credits because transferrable!!!
