I was just looking at some flights in May, and Southwest seems to have lost there mind. I just bought two trips on United for much less. I guess I'll get status with United as well this year. Southwest says that they know that we have a choice of airlines, but they appear to have forgotten that.
On the plus side, flying out of IAH instead of HOU means free food options at two restaurants from my Chase Sapphire Reserve Card via Priority Pass.

I was just reading the details. There were a number of other changes that are inconsequential to me like Early Bird is included with Anytime fares.
However, there was one change that did catch my eye. AL and ALP now receive free same day confirmed changes. In the past, it was just same day standby. To me, this is a fair major plus. Yay!

Coke Zero. It has a better taste than Diet Coke. I was quite happy when it returned.

@johnwhat Put them in a zip lock bag, and take this bag out when you go through security (place it in a tray). If they have any questions, they will ask, but they won't. Your first time. TSA sees it many times every day.

No. All travel must be completed before the expiration date of the funds. The good news is that you have the whole summer to do something fun.

And today, it appears like I got four more drink coupons. They are coming fast and furious. I had 20 old ones, and I've gotten 8 in two weeks. Half of my flights are first thing in the morning. They need to get bloody mary mix back because a bloody mary is the only drink I can imagine drinking at 6am. That or a mimosa, and I don't see champagne being offered anytime soon.

I'm still clueless as to why people buy business select seats. For the money, you could likely get a first class seat on another airline. I like Southwest, and I realize that "all seats on Southwest are first class", but still...

@dfwskier I think his issue was the strength of the drink, not the size of the cup. He seems to indicate that he believes that the FA split the mini-bottle across multiple drinks. *shrugs* I don't see why a FA would do that.

No airline will provide a hotel voucher if the cancelation is weather related. That isn't just Southwest. I always book travel with a Chase Sapphire Reserve card. If a flight is canceled due to weather, Chase will cover the hotel (food, taxi, etc).

A great recommendation would seem to be to avoid Southwest Vacations. Do a search, and you will figure out why. Fly Southwest, but avoid Southwest Vacations like the plague.

Somehow I doubt that people were talking about the employees. The scenario fails the smell test. In any event, it gives people something to complain about besides pre-boarding passengers, eh?
I fly the first flight out OKC-HOU almost every Monday morning, and I can't recall the last time there weren't multiple pre-boarding employees. Just to make everyone even more upset, they usually have a lot of large carryon bags as well.

SWA employees always pre-board. Often times, they will help with wheelchairs when they board to speed the process if there are multiple people in wheelchairs. They never sit near the front of the aircraft or in any seat that is especially desirable other than not being a middle seat. No reason to be worried...if you were A20, they wouldn't impact your choice of seat.

@parpitt1 Exit row, yes, but not the front row. That is a common choice for pre-boarding, especially for those with limited mobility.

You can use only three forms of payment when purchasing a ticket. If three vouchers completely covers the cost, they you can use three vouchers. If they do not, it would take a fourth payment (credit card) to cover the balance. Hence, you can only use two vouchers plus a credit card in your case.

Sit anyway? It is one thing to push past someone in the aisle seat, saving seats. It is another thing when someone is saving a seat across the aisle from them. What are they going to do to stop you? Anything that they did would constitute assault.

I guess that we are missing so much information to understand this. Where were the people asked to move? Did it involve splitting up and moving to middle seats?
In any event, you only needed one seat, not two.

@Dierberg01 And did you see them walk down the jetway? Most people in wheelchairs can walk short distances. They walk on and off the plane. They get in a wheelchair as soon as they get off the plane. Did you see someone who was in a wheelchair getting on run up the jetway upon arrival?

I fly pretty much every week, and I've never observed anything. No bad behavior by a passenger. Nothing questionable by a flight attendant.
Ten years ago (I was flying transAtlantic every other weekend), while boarding a Delta flight going AMS-ATL, the lady behind me was throwing a fit because her family wasn't seated with her. The FA kept telling her that she was going to find a way to help her, but they lady wouldn't calm down. Finally, the FA said that she was through, and she was going to get the purser. I turned around and told the lady that the FA was trying to help her, and that she should go find the FA and apologize because she isn't going to like what happens next otherwise. However, that instant, the FA came back with the purser. The purser said that there was a seat with her family, and they moved her.
I guess my life is boring, but that's the most drama that I've EVER seen on a plane. I'm not sure what planes everyone else is flying on...

I certainly would never say that there isn't reason to be upset. It sucks. I have a flight next month that was canceled, and I'm going to have to miss a half a day of work because of it. I'm upset. But, that's the way life happens, and you need to just figure things out and adjust. It isn't fair, but many things in life are worse.
What gets me is when people say that their flight was delayed/canceled, and they missed a cruise or a wedding or something else. If something is that important, you have to build slack into your schedule because that's what is involved in flying.
