No. Only children 12 and younger can go through Precheck with an adult, Everyone else needs their own Precheck. This is a TSA issue, not SWA.

@SWFlyer007 wrote: I'm with those that support the vaccine requirement...I've said it several times on here and will keep doing so. Can't wait until Hawaii does it so I can book. I'm really confused. You can book Hawaii today. I'm going on Memorial Day. If you can't wait to book Hawaii, then why are you waiting? If you haven't gotten the vaccine, why haven't you? If you have gotten the vaccine, what are you afraid of? In case you forgot, EVERYONE on the plane has taken a Covid test within 72 hours. You seem to be fine flying elsewhere, so I'm curious to why you are MORE concerned about flying in a plane with tested people.

Not sure how this flight could have been "pure torture" when, if this happened at any point prior to March 2020, it would have been considered a very normal flight. The only difference is limited snacks and beverages, but SWA is serving soda again and will probably resume their entire service soon enough. --Jessica Exactly! What did you expect? You seem bitter at the apparent hypocrisy of the FA on masks. Fair enough, but that didn't really affect your flight. If it's "pure torture" to not get the drink you want, bring your own. But if you're that fragile, you should really be flying first class on another airline.

@BoSu wrote: It is clear that refusing to have a vaccination for COVID (in contrast to all of the other vaccinations you are required to have) is an antisocial action, and adds to the risk of everyone. Your action provides another possibility for the spread and mutation of this disease, increasing its threat to all of us. For that reason I will be looking for airlines that have a policy that only allows vaccinated passenger. If the airline suffers passenger loss, I will be willing to pay a higher fare to cover that loss. I do not want you next to me on my next flight. Stay home where you belong. If you're worried that your vaccinated self will HAPPEN to sit next to someone who HAPPENS to have the virus, and it HAPPENS to be a mutation, and it HAPPENS to be not affected by your vaccination, and you HAPPEN to get it. and it HAPPENS to cause you serious illness...I think YOU'RE the one who needs to stay home. Your understanding of statistics tells me you should be too afraid to fly. After all, your odds of dying in a plane crash are much higher than the above stated risk. And by your logic, the guy next to you who's vaccinated might have just caught that mutation anyways, right? So you're gonna die anyways. Keep your illogical hypochondria to yourself, please. The rest of us have lives to live.

Yeah, nothing like paying a $50 checked bag fee x 4 to make you realize that RT flight you booked was really $200 more expensive than you thought, and that the miles you earn from it are essentially useless.

The point of not traveling during the pandemic is to avoid spreading infection (including asymptomatic) to more people during the entire process of traveling, not just flying. You pass through airports, taxis, trains, stations, restaurants, hotels, etc. when you travel. The flight is not what I was ever worried about, nor the main reason for the CDC nor the states to restrict travel. Pretty sad to see the types of people in this "community" forum so soon after I joined. Wow, that's logical. So you fly, but you run through the airport in a hazmat suit, then you run to your destination (no cars allowed), sleep outside (no hotels allowed), and eat off the land (no restaurants allowed), just to avoid covid? 🙄 So what you're really saying is all those OTHER businesses should shut down. That would solve things. Right? Put those people out of work? Except when they did, it didn't help. And when they didn't, it didn't make things worse. So basically, you're both wrong and nonsensical. But hey, you're the one who cares about "human suffering", so you get a pass on being logical. Because you care. Sounds familiar. Pssst... the planes are full. Guess the mean people got their way. No point in crying here anymore, right? The battery for your virtue signal seems to be dying out anyways.

You're kinda pointing out the obvious. While at first blush, it would make sense for them to have us "invest" in points. After all, they can (and did) turn around and devalue them before you can use them. And yes, they could use the money now without paying you interest, kinda like forever stamps at the post office. But looking at the other way, why would they give you a discount that you could turn around and spend today? Then everyone would do it, and they would lose money. The closest you can get to this is the occasional SW gift card on sale below face value. I've gotten a few of these.

I'm fairly certain it's the time of actual boarding and departure. The intent is to be able to offer the seat for standard, which floats with time of departure. @Quidam wrote: It was a "Wanna Get Away" fare, but I wasn't expecting a refund. Be aware of the ever-changing Covid requirements and how they will be affected by your layover. Hopefully your trip will be after all this is over, but as of now, you'll need a test to fly to Hawaii and another to go to Maui, and very likely another once you get to Maui. Soon the second test may be waived if you have a vaccine. Maui adding the test when you land sounds like it's going in the wrong direction, and hopefully sanity will prevail. If there's anyplace that needs to honor a vaccine passport, it's Hawaii.

Two mallets with which to beat the dead horse: 1. Flying at ALL reduces your oxygen intake by 25%. Therefore, if you're legitimately worried about wearing a mask on the ground, you'll probably be dead if you fly even without it. 2. Which flights exactly would be maskless? Are you proposing DOUBLING the flight schedule so we can pick and choose which plane we want to be on? And you thought cancelations were bad now? My best advice... before asking or suggesting such novel ideas.... just think them through a little bit. You may realize how utterly implausible they are, and thereby save us all a lot of collective wasted time.

Becoming not worth it to fly the airline I once really liked. The airline doesn't respond to the pandemic. It responds to customer demand, which hasn't recovered. And when the public is continuously fed such absurd directives like "The CDC now says you can go outside without a mask...IF you're vaccinated", I'm not sure when things will get back to normal. The FUD machine is running strong in the political-media complex. Until it gets shut down, air travel will suffer. And it's not any better on the other airlines.

Ha, we had this exact situation. Same airport even. Call and have them change your name back to your maiden name on your passport. This will avoid any hassle traveling. You can change it back later. This may cause issues with existing travel funds, which may still be in your married name and can't easily be applied to flights under a different name. But they will stay attached to your account and won't be lost. Can't see why it would affect a companion.

California. No appointments to be found anywhere in my area. Yes, they are allegedly available, but I guess everyone in my area knows how to get on the waiting list. As someone recovered from the virus with mild symptoms, I'm pretty much at the end of the list for people who need to get it.

And when exactly do I start having to get tested for every flight? I still can't get a vaccine, unless I play my "essential worker" card. But there are no open appointments. Should I bounce some one so I can get priority to keep flying? What if they get sick? Or do i NOW need to start getting tested weekly to fly? Who's gonna pay for that? That'll hurt the industry more than it is now. Or are you only going to implement these new rules after everyone who wants to get vaccinated has a chance? Well, by then, we're at herd immunity, aren't we? And if we're not, why are you worried about the antivaxxers who get sick? They certainly won't overwhelm the hospitals, which was the whole point of these restrictions in the first place. So we're back to it not making any sense when you think through it. But the government never does anything logically, they do it based on the emotion and public sentiment of the average citizen who can't think logically. Don't feed the beast. Just say no.

We're specifically talking about air travel here. Using vaccine passports to FORCE people to get vaccinated to travel is problematic, specifically because it's senseless. To try to say "well, it forces people to get vaccinated" is making airlines the enforcement arm of the government. Not their job, last time I checked. Why are they specifically being assigned that job? Why not require a passport to leave your house? You have no problem forcing everyone to get vaccinated. That's a LOT more of an infringement on other people's rights than wearing a mask. And it literally ignores the logic I mentioned. 1. Air travel isn't identified as transmitting the virus. 2. Vaccinated people don't care about getting it. 3. Unvaccinated people don't care about getting it. Therefore, literally EVERY SINGLE activity that exists could be identified as "mandatory vaccine". You must feel air travel is somehow special, or voluntary? If you want to enforce a hammer of mandatory vaccinations, regardless of the logic, make the government do it. Don't make airlines do the dirty work.
