When you are booking a flight and want information about it click on the flight number in blue text when searching your flights. This will show you what type of aircraft how many seats and delay times. I have heard that Newark, NJ airport is one of the most delayed routes on the east coast because ATC give priority to other NY airports.

In 17 years of experience flying Southest Airlines I have found out that when flights first come out the Wana Get Away fares may look sold out but what they are doing is trying to see how popular that flight is going to be. When the seats don't sell they will open up the Wana Get Away fares a few months before the departure date. My suggestion is check those flights everyday, you will be Surprised how much the price goes up and down. Good luck!

Free same-day standby is not available at Southwest® kiosks. Please see a Customer Service Agent at the airport for this benefit. Free same-day standby will be provided for A-List and A-List Preferred Members traveling prior to the original scheduled departure, between the same city pairs, on the original date of travel, where a seat is available. On flights that do not meet these qualifications, A-List and A-List Preferred Members will receive priority standby and will be required to pay the difference in fare if a seat becomes available. A-List Preferred Members will be prioritized ahead of A-List Members. If an A-List or A-List Preferred Member is traveling on a multiple-Passenger reservation, free same-day standby and priority standby will not be provided for non-A-List or non-A-List Preferred Members in the same reservation. For A-List and A-List Preferred Members who have also qualified for a Companion Pass, A-List and A-List Preferred benefits are not available to the Companion unless the Companion is also an A-List and A-List Preferred Member. A-List and A-List Preferred Members can still make confirmed same-day changes for another flight to their destination, if seats are available, and will only pay the difference in fare. I'm under the understanding. If you fly regardless if you pay or go on points if there is a available seat the Companion goes fee.

Non-Passenger Escort "We offer Non-Passenger Escort (NPE) passes to people who are accompanying or meeting a Customer with a disability to/at the Customer's gate. NPE authorization should be requested from a Southwest Airlines Customer Service Agent at our ticket counter or Skycap podium. Please advise the Agent that you need to accompany/meet a Southwest Passenger to/at the gate to accommodate the Passenger's disability. You will need to present photo identification and a copy of the Southwest Customer's itinerary. We recommend reviewing our Suggested Airport Arrival Times page to determine how far in advance you should arrive at the airport terminal so that you have plenty of time to park, wait in line to receive a NPE pass, go through the security checkpoint, and get to the gate."

You only check in once. 24hr before your departure date you will be able to check in but you will not be able to print your boarding pass at home because it is an international flight. You could do early bird for your departure and your seat will be reserved 36hr before. You will receive your boarding pass when you show your passport at check in at the airport on your departure date. You will also have a better boarding position then the people who board the plane in Chicago because you will have checked in for the first leg of your trip before they check in for their flight out of Chicago.

"Prior to general boarding, preboarding is available for Customers who have specific seating needs to accommodate a disability, and/or need assistance in boarding the aircraft, and/or need to stow an assistive device. If you have a disability and require preboarding, you should request a Preboarding Document from the Customer Service Agent at your departure gate." The Preboarding Document serves as notification to our Operations (Boarding) Agent that you need to preboard. It's important to keep in mind those Customers who preboard may not occupy a seat on the emergency exit rows. Customers who have any other special needs related to boarding should speak with the Customer Service Agent at your departure gate." We realize that some Customers with disabilities require the assistance of the individuals they are traveling with, and we will allow a travel companion to act as an "attendant" and preboard with a Customer with a disability. In most cases, the Customer requires assistance from only one other person, and any additional family members or friends are asked to board with their assigned group. However, if a Customer needs assistance from more than one family member, then the Customer should be allowed the additional help."
