We signed up and completed the round trip, but how long does it take for the promo to kick in so you get the CP? The promotion is no longer listed on the website. There was also another promo about getting double points from June through August up to max 50k using a SWA credit card, but that is also gone so unclear when those points will show up too. I realize maybe no one knows for sure, but maybe someone has gotten one of these in the past to shed some light. Or should I call into customer support?
There were 2 companion pass promos if you are talking about the most recent one once you complete the RT before the end of September you will get your companion pass in January

Did you call or email? Calling your not going to get someone who can just make that exception it would need to be made by the executive office (used to be called customer relations called something else now) emails will go to the right department or you can also send a message on X (known as Twitter) and maybe they can help
I will say I think 3 months is quick maybe it should have been a year as I know some had issues getting the code in the first place like myself and they had to manually add the points
With the deposit in to different accounts that’s a thing because not everyone has a RR account and kids may have been on the once in a lifetime trip where the parents paid so the parents can still take and use the points

Delays happen and at the same time delays can be made up (by quick turns at previous airports or aircraft swaps) many times aircraft swaps or even crew swaps will cause a flight to go from long delay to short or no delay this is why you always still arrive at the airport at your flight’s originally scheduled time. All airlines have aircraft swaps otherwise some planes may actually never make up a delay so the same thing could happen on delta or American or even spirit.
The lesson here if your flight is originally at 7:50 but delayed still show up at say 7pm in case such change happens but check the status throughout the day as not all updates come by text or can be delayed (technology isn’t perfect).
now with the hotel did you try contacting Disney and seeing if they can work any magic? Even if they take $200 of the $985 that’s still better than losing all that money plus regardless you should let them know you won’t make it for the first night so they don’t cancel your entire booking

Usually as long as you change your reservation not cancel your Early bird check in would transfer (at least prior to the new Early bird changes) before the changes as long as you changed to a flight at least 36 hours later it transferred over
i know now that Early bird isn’t available on every flight so now i am curious how that works if you change from a flight that EB was eligible to a new flight that isn’t available for EB for flights more than 36 hours later. I’ll look in to that scenario and see if I can get an answer for that.
if you cancel your reservation and rebook you will lose the EB and it is non refundable

once here you can buy, gift, transfer, or donate points
to transfer click that option then log in to your account
keep in mind you can use points from your account or another account to buy tickets for other people the only time it might make sense to transfer is if you are short in one account a 1000 or so to pay for the ticket.

Sadly, these deals are meaningless to me since I already have a companion pass. Now if I could use it for someone else that would be good, but I have to change my current companion which I could do anyway.
Some will take advantage if they have multiple family members
example if you and your parter had 2 kids you have companion pass then have your partner earn then both kids fly free or could be 2 friends
now for single folks would be cool if you could use it to get an extra seat for space or what if an animal could be your companion

well once again as I suggested you should share your feedback with Southwest directly by clicking the contact us link at the bottom of this page
oh and while I appreciate your opinion as you noted this is a community I don’t need to move on I’ll provide my opinion just like you did.
The only way for change to happen with any company is to share your feedback/suggestions with the company directly.
Maybe they should go to dynamic pricing based on flight time/route

All airlines charge pet fees a lot of hotels charge per fees that’s what you agreed to when you bought your flight with the intention to bring your dog.
now would it hurt the airline to have a snack for pets or a treat no but when the dog has an accident and that escapes the carrier they are in that’s when there is a problem and that’s where pet fees go.
some dogs are not travel friendly and are scared/loud well customers complain the airline might compensate because they had a bad flight because of a pet again that would be offset by pet fees.
You can share your feedback with Southwest by clicking contact us at the bottom of this page but keep in mind every airline has pet fees kind of like most airlines except Southwest have bag fees
fees going up just like airfare goes up groceries go up prices go up that’s just life

I think you have to pay the $5.60 to add stops, not sure if you get it back by removing stops.
A got a promotional follow-up email of Southwest's current $49 sale earlier today with a side promo of Free Same Day Standby for All Fares. The fine print on the bottom of the email describes how the taxes are handled:
List for same-day standby via the Southwest® app or gate agent. Group bookings and Unaccompanied Minors are not eligible. Government taxes and fees may apply but refunds will be provided. Visit Southwest.com/standby for details. Where available. Available only on WiFi-enabled aircraft.
This fine print is interesting to me because if you have a WGA+ fare or A List WGA and do a same day confirmed you may have to pay $5-$10 if you go from non stop to connection (at least for non points flights) the app shows me +$5 for a flight that is a no plane change or $10 if it’s a connection I’ve paid that multiple times no refunds

Hi there I will add that back in 2019 (when I posted that) A List was the only same day standby along with anytime/BS fares that could switch now you have a lot of extra people who could standby (WGA and WGA+) so making sure seats exists will be even more important because you could go from 1 to 11 in no time (depending on your route and if weather may be coming or an event ends early) and it could end up hurting you with say a later arrival or unplanned overnight layover
you may ask how can I tell how many seats are left well 2 ways
1. Act like you want to book the flight you would do standby on for 8 people if it says unavailable then try another number less than 8 if there isn’t at least 6 seats proceed with caution
2. Ask the agent at the airport or call SW and see if they think you would be able to make your connection being on standby the whole way
For non A List I think I’d still recommend paying the small fare different at booking to go from WGA to WGA+ just so I can get someday confirmed and hopefully avoid standby the airline world is crazy and the last thing you want is to have a standby backfire because a flight fills up after your first flight leaves (remember any flights that get cancelled they can take your seat if they get reaccom to your flight with a confirmed seat)

Your best bet is to email southwest so they can document your experience. I wonder if it was the same rude agent I dealt with a few weeks ago at MCO
in the future if I have an issue with someone at MCO I’d go to a different gate than the one they just came from. In your case maybe walk down to 121 since 125-129 usually have the same agents who all talk to each other
sometimes the app will say a flight is boarding before it actually boarded especially if the plane is there and the ops agent sent some nonrev crew down early because once a boarding pass is scanned it thinks the flight is boarding.

I would send an email to southwest by clicking on the contact us link at the bottom of this page and hopefully they can sort this out and I’d ask for compensation as well.
This sounds like a system glitch but I don’t know. when you say you could get some points back for changing did that point difference actually post to your RR account? Ex. If original flight was 6K new flight was 5K did your points balance go up 1K? On your account activity it would show a redemption and deposit of miles then another redemption does it show that? You should have also received an email saying your point’s balance was adjusted.

Prior to this change clearing was done 10min prior to departure (hints the 10min rule announcements you might hear)
In my experience of standby normally the agent working that flight did the clearing of standby passengers and that agent usually shows up to work that flight an hour before flight time which you could be cleared at that point as they will look at if there are any flight weight restrictions, how many seats, and so on. I had a couple times where I was cleared at the ticket counter but usually those flights were 50 seats open or more
back before same day change became a thing A List only got standby and usually I was cleared right before boarding with the occasional right after boarding started
why would you do standby as A List maybe at midnight you look and the flight you want is full then you could standby but if a seat is available you would just do same day confirmed.
standby for later flight I did this a couple times when my original flight was late but a later flight would depart before my original but the later flight was full so I went on standby. But in a non delay situation I wonder how it would work if you don’t make the later flight and your flight left (hopefully you don’t become a no show)

Now though Thursday Register then book a RT flight or 2 one ways (book by Thursday) for travel though September 30th and you will get a one time use 50% off promo code valid January 8th though March 6th
keep in mind you will get the code October 17th and you would need to use the code by November 23rd for the January-March travel
so this is a slightly more complex process since you have to wait to get the code then wait to actually be able to fly using the code
