The solution to those morons trying to save an exit row is to just sit there. Not a thing they can do about it except all pay for priority boarding next time. The self entitled seem to be higher on SWA than any other airline.

So for your lack of responsibility to check in someone else shoudl be inconvenienced.... thats your solution? Yes, you are abusing it. If you really cared abut the cost of the equipment you could either pay for early check in, priority boarding, or set an alarm on your phone to check in.

Well, you can thank the people faking medical issues to preboard and get the better seats. Its better to them to do this than pay the $30 for an early boarding number. It has gotten way out of hand but SWA either ignores it or refuses to acknoeldge the problem.

Henceforth, it shall be referred to as "attempted seat saving".

Actually you are close. If you want to save a seat on Southwest, you say "This seat is saved" If someone wants to sit there, then there is nothing you can do to stop them, and your saved seat is now not saved any longer. In my previous example, the seat is not saved, it was just not wanted by anyone. Trying to claim a victory there is only showing how disingenuous your position is.

It is absolutely entitlement to believe you deserve to either scam a preboard or only pay for one of your group of 12 so the others in C48-59 can have the rows you have designated as your fiefdom. Entltlement meaning that you should be able to screw others for your personal selfishness.

She can try, but anyone that wants to sit in them is perfectly entitled to. Open seating does not guarantee you will sit with your group, and does not provide a way for you to save a seat if someone wants to sit in it. Its been proven time and again. Those with the entitlement attitude who think they can save seats on this airline, theaters, pool decks are often the first to voice their disapproval when someone sits in the territory they have staked out their claim.

I did, and as has been stated and proven, there is no way for you to save a seat without a body in it.

How about assigning seats from the exit row forward? One good thing is that if they do go full assigned seating, then the preboard scam will decrease and the miracle flights will stop. SWA created this inevitibility by thinking people would not take advantage of the system. They made it worse when they added the priority boarding option. People figured out long ago that they could scam the preboard requirement and then make it even worse trying to save more seats, or even rows of seats. It is just a matter of time before one or more people get into a brawl onboard, and it is entirely SWA's fault when that happens.

How can you say whe was right and then contradict yourself? Saved seat would mean nobidy can sit in it (SWA has signs, and other ways to denote this), If a person claims a seat is saved and someone else sits in it, then it is not saved as claimed. But yes, SWA is just setting up a confrontation by not being more specific in their policy and enforcing that as well. Those who are inconsiderate enough to try to "save" seats are responsible when it is totally preventable by boarding with their party and not using means to board first either by faking a medical condition or buying one priority boarding and trying to save rows for their friends in the C group. Generally if you are not trying to save a seat in the bulkhead or exit row then you will most likely be sucessful in keeping a seat open for someone boarding later, but then you should have boarded with them in the first place and not put anyone in this situation anyway.

It is you who do not understand and have to resort to deception to make your point. Why dont you mention the entire policy instead of only the parts you like? You conveniently only use half of the policy to enhance your point. SWA has no policy for saving seats, therefore you are incorrect. See how that works? And further, even though you claim customers can save seats in that seat, just how do they accomplish saving the seat that now has another person sitting in the open seat? If they claim a seat is saved and someone sits in it that kindof makes it unsaved.

Family boarding between the A and B groups would allow them to board together.

Realistically, none. If there is not a body in the seat, sit in it. There is no way a person can save a seat if it has nobody in it. I had this happen recently when a person paid for priority boarding and wanted to save a bulkhead seat for his frien in the C group. Essentially he wanted to save money and not have both of them buy the priority boarding. He protested loudly that the seat was saved, and the FA told him that it was open seating. We sat there anyway and he huffed and puffed and walked back to row 4. If someone is going to be so inconsiderate that they would try to save a bulkhead or exit row seat, they deserve to have their entitlement whisked away when you sit in the seat.
