That helps, thanks. So for my upcoming flight that shows "EST POINTS" of 990, I should earn 990 TQPs from that (and 1238 RR points), if I understand correctly?
Yes exactly!

You must be A-List. You get a 25% earning bonus for RR points only. Without A-List you would have earned 744 RR points. But since you are A-List you earn 744 +25% = 930 Rapid Rewards points.
Tier Qualifying Points do not get the benefit of A-List or A-List Preferred multipliers. If you earn 744 points then that is it. No status is recognized when calculating TQPs.

Short answer is yes. I just used my Perf Business card to transfer 11,000 points from my wife's account to mine. Cost was $110.00. Was credited the next day by Chase, and received an email saying "Congratulations - you just used one of your card member benefits..."

The only benefit I see in booking through the Chase portal is when you are using UR points. When you book a SW flight through the portal using UR points, it counts as cash on the Southwest side of things. This means you can use points and still earn TQPs and CPQPs.
Downside of course is the lack of flexibility and difficulty in using Chase as a middle man.

Yes you are correct about points "expiring" when it comes to earning companion pass again. Your points never expire - they stay in your account forever until you use them to book a flight.
However, I should have clarified that to earn companion pass you have to earn an additional 135,000 points in a calendar year. Once that calendar year ends (12/31), your companion pass qualifying points are reset to ZERO on January first of each year. This does not erase points that are still in your account from the previous year and those points can still be used to book flights.
This is why I mention cancelling you SW card and getting a new one so you can take advantage of the signup bonus again to earn the 135,000 points needed for companion pass in 2024.

Sorry to hear about the passing of a loved one. I know it can really put a damper on recreational travel plans also.
But the good news is that your points never expire. So your concern about "your points are going to drop off in December 2023" is not true. Those points will remain in your account until you use them.
Also if you want to earn another SW Credit Card signup bonus you will be eligible 24 months after you earned your last signup bonus. You just need to cancel your current card (ideally before the 2nd year's annual fee hits). Then wait a minimum of 30 days before re-applying for the new Southwest card.
To be safe I would wait to re-apply for the new card at some point after the 24 month anniversary of your last signup bonus. You did not mention when you last earned the signup bonus but in context I would guess it was sometime in early 2022? So if, for example, you received your signup bonus on your April 2022 closing statement, I would apply for the new card in May 2024.
So all is not lost and maybe you'll find this to be a bit of good news should you want to resume your travel plans with your wife!

Yes you're right. It was in my account page on the desktop website. I stopped using my Chase SW cards for the year once I earned Companion Pass And ALP. I use the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card for the balance of the year after I am done earning status. The multipliers are much better with the Sapphire.
So the SW algorithm probably selected me for this targeted offer since my Chase SW cards have been dormant for a few months.

How is this false advertising? The terms and conditions state that you have to use the new card you are issued to purchase the flight. Then you get a statement credit of up to $200. You need to physically have possession of the new card to make this purchase.
And besides, that is a terrible offer for opening a new Chase SW Credit Card. At worst they usually offer 50,000 points as a signup bonus. That is worth around $750.00 in flights at 1.5 cents per point. Actually, right now they are offering 75,000 points as a signup bonus - worth about $1,125.

Yes you should be able to add a companion in January once the CP Privilege kicks in. So If you have yourself and Dad already booked, on 1/24 the option to add a companion (your Mom) should be active and a button will now appear when you go to the "manage reservations" option on the desktop website.
I would suggest you also book your Mom's flight now just to save the seat. Since you are using points you can go in on Jan 24th through "manage my reservation" and cancel you Mom's flight before you add her as your companion.
This way your Mom and Dad will be on the same reservation as you and get the A-List boarding position benefit when you go to check in.

Good question and sorry I do not remember how long it took. I am 99% sure the 20,000 point award is based upon when the friend is approved. Not when they spend money with it or pay their credit card. It was in the middle of the year for me so I did not pay close attention to when it posted.

Yes. I opened a new card in 2021 with my wife as authorized user. Got my signup bonus in 2021.
Wife opened a new card in 2022 (and I got the referral bonus of 20,000). My wife then received the signup bonus of 50,000 points while still being an authorized user on my card. Chase does not allow more than one signup bonus every two years per card member. So this is a good example that you should not have a problem receiving your signup bonus as a new card member while still being an authorized user of another person's card..

Chase likes to typically take what they purport as eight weeks after the promotion closes to put the earned points into your account. In reality they mean two months. For example the 20% bonus points on spending promotion ran from 3/1/2023 - 6/30/2023. I received my bonus points from this promotion on Monday August 28th. Eight weeks after the end of the promotion was 8/25/2023 (which is what Chase stated as the date the awards points would post in the fine print of the promotion).

I signed up for the "More ways to earn towards A-List or A-List Preferred" promotion currently running from March 1st to May 31st. Registered the same day the event was available on my account page. Spent a little over $10K last month on my Southwest Premier Business card. This spending total was from March1st to March 31st.
The promotion says that you earn 3,000 TQPs for every $5K you spend on a Southwest Card. It also says points will be deposited in your account "within 4 weeks after the end of each month and by 6/30/2023 for May purchases".
I was expecting 6,000 TQPs to be deposited today since today is exactly four weeks from the end of the month of March (and is the last business day of the month). But so far nothing. Anyone else receive any TQPs under this promotion yet?
I did send a message to Southwest and have yet to hear back. Will probably also have to contact Chase if I get the "we haven't received anything from Chase yet" from Southwest.
Thanks!
