Please read Flight Surgeon’s post. You’re irrational. If you’re so frightened, don’t fly.

To all you Southwest contributors that say, and I paraphrase, “federal regulation, your fault, suck it up, and comply”. Seems you folks have been dropped on your collective heads once too often. The family understood the rule....the take away is the hostility and hate spewed by this blond headed attendant. Hate by flight personnel is common on other airlines and was completely lacking on Southwest, that is, until 2020. Message is, if attendants can’t treat customers with care and respect, find another job. And Southwest need to do a better job of weeding out these folks.

Ya.....I'm with you. I guess that's the new Rapid Rewards program.

Really!!! You don't expect value for your spending? I'm an unapologetic capitalist, and yes, if someone else has greater value.....I'm moving. The fact that I'm agitating for change should indicate that my objective is of a more pure heart, like yours.....I'm trying to change a system. I could have kept quiet and moved my money to United.

SW instituted Rapid Rewards, as you say, about 20 years ago, to attract and incentivize the business traveler. SW, like other airlines, recognize the value of the business traveler and provide certain. promises and incentives (very modest) as a "reward" to those of us who must travel on business for a living. The issue that I, and apparently others have, is SW continues to erode the value of the incentive to fly with them. As much as I love SW, as a consumer, I'm going to spend my travel dollars in a place that provides me the most value. Assuming all you folks who are fine with preboard cheaters, wish to castigate those of us who demand value for our dollar, I will gladly accept your Rapid Rewards for payment for the reduced value of my mileage program so I can continue to fly SW. Gee Whiz y'all are swell!!

You obviously are not getting it.....this is issue is about PRE- BOARDING abuse, which for your business select and Alist customers is completely obvious. Simple solutions like first on last off for preboarders would cut this Abuse down tremendously. Further, requiring your gate agents to enforce 1 pre-board, one attendant, which is a written policy of Southwest that you don't enforce, seems like a good place to start. What makes me ill is the holier than thou attitude you people have when you don't even enforce your own rules.

It's really, really sad, and actually tragic, the response of Southwest to the customers who have shown the most loyalty by flying with them week after week for years where it concerns PRE-BOARDING abuse. Those loyal customers who rightly expect a VERY modest level of benefit associated with that loyalty (and the dollars we spend). The message I've seen to very reasonable suggestions about PRE-BOARD abuse is that your concerns are cras and mean and if you don't like what we're serving, take your business elsewhere. Shame on you Southwest.

Good for you. But playing by the rules is important and a sense of fairness is what makes society work. If you choose to condone people abusing a system, then that is your choice. I recently had my own pre-board experience having been injured and legitimately received pre-board status for about 10 weeks (6 flights). I personally have witnessed pre-boarders skipping down the jet way to the plane to board. I'm a list preferred, with companion pass. I won't even attempt to advise Southwest how to fix this problem...reading many of the replies here, it's apparent that Southwest doesn't view this abuse as a problem......just know, I, like other disgruntled, yet marginalized fliers, may only be a small percentage of your flying passengers, but we do spend a lot of our company's money flying on Southwest. I am fortunate to be in the DFW area and have airline choices. Choices I will exercise if some measure of control isn't addressed to this issue.
