On May 28th Southwest will open the schedule for flights through January 4th 2021. I'd check back tomorrow afternoon to see the date of the next schedule release which would include the rest of January. -Blake

I know it may still befuddle us to figure things out, but it really helps that you extended the expiration date for trips made up to the original date. This makes it easier on families with many travelers, as the fee of $100 per person, adds up, especially when there are lots of kids, and several trips to consider. Very much appreciated! What date will it be possible to start rebookings online? You have two separate issues, one is Southwest revising its software to allow the extension of travel funds which they have said is on the order of weeks. The second issue that Southwest releases its schedule in chunks at a time, currently through October so you won't be able to book trips for next summer until the schedule is released roughly nine months out. I hope this helps.

I am another customer too so check with Southwest to confirm but here is what I think is the relevant line in the updated policy: "Any travel funds created because of a flight cancellation between March 1-May 31, 2020, will have an expiration date of June 30, 2021" If you cancelled the flight in March then it seems like that is when the travel funds would be created, which would then have a June 30, 2021 expiration. Southwest said they would need time to update their IT systems so give it some time if you don't yet see a June 30, 2021 expiration. You can check your travel funds in your RR account or here: https://www.southwest.com/flight/travel-funds-search.html This is the link to the latest post I've seen: https://www.southwestaircommunity.com/t5/Blog/A-Message-from-our-SVP-and-Chief-Marketing-Officer/ba-p/103995

Southwest is aware that extending travel fund expiration would make lots of people, including myself, very happy. Stay tuned, this situation is changing rapidly and new policy could be announced as things change. --TheMiddleSeat
