I just read where it states: "Starting in the spring of 2024, Rapid Rewards Members will have the option to pay for their flight with a combination of cash and points, starting with as few as 1,000 points."
Does anyone know the date yet when this will happen. ?

I would like to know if I apply one of my travel funds to a reservation, if I change it later on due to a lower flight price, will I lose the travel fund or will it be just applied to the new reservation?

Thank you! We are still going to try to get some sort of compensation. If I ever knew it was APPLE (although when investigated, the company that SW lists as it's 3rd party under Southwest Vacations) had another name with several other 3rd party booking companies listed as part of it.

We had booked a Southwest Vacations package to Jamaica after the first of the year. Paid in full. Had our resort, flights, and travel insurance all included. We were departing from Phoenix, AZ . We were to leave this morning (May 3rd) from Phoenix to Montego Bay with a stopover in Houston. Yesterday I went to check in and it stated that there was no such flight! Immediately my husband started calling Customer Service and also the separate number for Southwest Vacations. They informed him that a corporate decision was made on MARCH 17th to discontinue flights/packages to Jamaica!! NO ONE FROM SOUTHWEST AIRLINES OR SOUTHWEST VACATIONS EVER CONTACTED US!!! 😲😠 We slipped thru the cracks! They apologized all over the place and had no idea how that happened. They couldn't find any flights (even other airlines) to even still get us there. I think other cities might have been cancelled for this flight route also. If we had been informed in March, we probably could have re-booked our vacation to another destination!!! To make matters worse....this trip was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary!! 😫 They said they will issue a full refund and inform the resort that it was them who cancelled, not us. Hope this is true and that we don't have to fight with the resort also as they have a penalty charge for late cancellations. I would also like to know how to go about submitting a letter to the airline (Customer Service?) asking for compensation (like two free vouchers for new flights) for ruining this most special important event of celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. We even had special arrangements made with the resort for a special private dinner on the beach at sunset with a musician. We are both so devastated, depressed, and angry that this happened. No excuse. I understand that many airlines are cancelling flights due to not having enough ground crew etc. but to not inform us at all when they had cancelled our package over six weeks previously is beyond understanding. Does anyone here think that asking for two free tickets is too much to ask? I just don't want a: "Sorry for your inconvenience. Here is a $100.00 voucher for future travel". How should I go about contacting them?

I was trying to show their messed up communication. For such a big company, they state one thing and then in an email reply state another. Their online communication to the public stated there was a change (excuse me....I failed to insert the word "temporary") to their no refund "Early Bird" policy, but yet they were going to do me a favor and gift me with a voucher?? The title of this thread relates to this "Early Bird" change so that is why I posted and stated what I did. Do all of the posts here have to sing SWA praises??? Have a good day.

Since SWA announced it's reversal on their "no refund" policy for their "Early Bird" and now WILL give refunds in the form of a voucher, I contacted them last week to apply for mine. Well I received an email reply today and this is part of what they said: "Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand that you canceled your reservation due to your concerns about traveling at this time. I regret any disappointment that we are unable to refund your non-refundable EarlyBird Check-In purchase. That said, as a gesture of goodwill, we are sending you a $100.00 Southwest LUV Voucher (SLV). The voucher will be sent in a separate email and should arrive within the next 30 days. While SLVs cannot be used toward the purchase of EarlyBird Check-In, we hope that you will use the credit toward the purchase of a future flight with us." SWA......What? Really? Your airline just recently REVERSED your policy on the "no refunds for the Early Bird" option"!!!!!! Haven't you (Customer Relations) been informed of this yet??? Yeeeesh! Thank you, but this voucher is what is owed me, (according to your new policy).....not a "gesture of goodwill"!

SWA has apparently reversed it's policy of not refunding/crediting any cost of booking "Early Bird" of your reservation that you cancelled due to the coronavirus. I had cancelled my reservation that was to fly roundtrip from Phoenix to Cancun on May 4th - 12th. I tried but this post won't allow me to post a "copy and paste" link of the article. They now say that you will get a voucher for the cost if you contact SW by phone (yeah right!) or by contacting "Customer Service". Well there isn't any info./update even remotely mentioning this voucher when you click on that contact! Not even on their "Coronavirus Updates" link. Does anyone have any clue as how to get a this credit voucher for the "Early Bird" add on that I had on my reservation ($100.00!!)? Has anyone else tried or even received one? Is the only recourse to be on hold on the phone for 10 hours? LOL!
