Very interesting - mine too literally showed up about an hour ago.
Hmm....
I also received a confirmation email saying the points were for "Participating with one of our Rapid rewards partners." Not sure how that applies to purchases and Chase, but maybe folks bringing this situation to SW attention helped. Case closed.

I just have spent some time with a SW agent, and they are still insisting that it is a Chase matter. Since the promotion was based on credit card spending, and SW does does have access to the credit card information, I was told to once again contact Chase and see why the points have not transferred over. And the story goes........

I ran into the exact same issue. I have contacted SW and Chase - each one says it's the other guys promotion.
Very frustrating, it has been two months today that this promotion ended.
This should not take this long.
Someone is not getting the right information.

Curious if others have received the 4X bonus points on SW Credit Card purchases through January and ending February 29, 2024. I have not seen my points, my do realize it may take up to 8 weeks but still curious if others have been granted their bonus. Thank you.

Thanks for the input. I have gotten different opinions on this. Other responses have said that you Can cancel the flight, rebook, and the EarlyBird Checkin will transfer. As long as it is Cancelled and Rebooked at least 25 hours before flight. Think I will call and see what a Southwest rep says.

Hello,
Can I Cancel a flight I have planned for May 3-9 and rebook again to take advantage of lower point totals during a special sale? Just Changing the flight will not let me enter in a promo code. What I really want to know is if an Early Bird Checkin I purchased will go with the new reservation (and new confirmation number). Thanks.

Thanks for your input.
If they gave me the option (and a delay was not a weather issue), I think I would opt to just stay put in San Jose with a hotel voucher. I just am thinking my checked bag will get lost in the massive network. I would rather have it with me.
Like you said if it is weather caused, I am on my own. Probably would still stay in San Jose.
Flights the next day are about the same from either, so now big deal there.
And a friend will be with me, so there could be some cost sharing.

Hello all – a hypothetical question. Going from San Jose to Pittsburgh on August 15 with a 45 minute stopover in Denver. If flight leaving San Jose is delayed by thirty to sixty minutes, then chances are flight from Denver will be missed. If I notice upon arriving at San Jose airport that flight will be delayed, will Southwest change my flight at no additional charge to say a flight the next day from San Jose? And would I be reimbursed for the hotel charge that evening? I am thinking this would be better than staying in Denver so I would still have my checked bag with me. Thanks.

Thanks to all for your comments. I actually just kept checking daily on the flight totals, and in the last week, it has decreased twice! It now is at it's lowest price for four passengers on the same ticket.
I will keep checking, but I am happy with this point total. More points back for more future flights!
Tickets for my son and family to California for his brother's wedding.

Hello,
I have a reservation in two months with four passengers on the flight.
Today the point price dropped almost 2500 pts. on that flight.
I cannot change the flight (to the same with the lower point total) due to there being four flyers.
I can change the flight (to the same with the lower point total) if I change the number of passengers to one or two.
So could I Cancel the original flight and book Two flights with two passengers each to take advantage of the point drop?
Just wanted to know if anyone else has ever encountered this situation and done it this way.
Possible problems? Thanks.

I agree -
Three of the last four days, the daily contest could not be opened or played.

patricia2020, I am in the exact same situation as you describe. I have around $257 in Travel Funds due to expire January 18. There is no way I will be traveling by then. I have reached out to four different Customer Reps, with all the same response - No Way, not budging from their policy. I too was unaware of the Sept. 7 deadline to be able to extend them further. I tried to work with them, offering to accept a six-month extension, even a three- month extension. Also, to convert them to Points (which they are not eligible for, not sure why). I understand it is a rough time for airlines, but to continue to gain their customer's business and loyalty down the road, there must be some flexibility in policies in these unprecedented times. From reading this forum the past couple of months, I am also aware of the $100 charge to convert the funds to a LUV certificate after they initially expire. I repeat, in these unprecedented travel times, there should be better flexibility. Southwest has always been my go to airline for trips south and out west. Step up, Southwest, and show why you are the best.
