Southwest Airlines Community

After 4 flights in 2 days which each had over 25  pre-boarders- I'm over it. And breaking news states that SW has increased the maximum charge for earlybird check-in and upgraded boarding ( up to $149!).  That will surely increase the number of pre-boarders.   Also- SW policy regarding saving of seats ( they don't officially have one)  has also been put out there on social media and now abused. They didn't say Vietnam vet anywhere just 100% disabled veteran. I'm also a 100% disabled veteran myself. Have been since 2006 when I came home from Iraq and I'm now 40. I have very often struggled to hide my limp and sometimes you'd never notice anything. I also look perfectly capable, but if I'm in shorts you can see the difference and if I don't have a seat in front with extra leg room I won't be able to move for days. I preboard on every flight.  It is my right.   I do not need the wheelchair but do meet the criteria.  I often have one companion but never five.  I agree that it should be better managed.   Ultimately, Southwest created this perfect storm.  When you have unassigned seats and also must comply with the Air Carrier Act, those that preboard get the best selection of seats.  That is not to be blamed on people who preboard, that is Southwest's own brew.   This subject has been complained about for YEARS and has not changed.   ...
