Hey, @saif1997! (And @dfwskier - thank you for the tag!)
Thanks so much for reaching out. Our Team will definitely follow up with you with an update once it's available! That BWI Ramp Agent role received nearly over 900 applications, so it's taking our Team some time to review, arrange interviews, and determine next steps for adding to our Southwest Family! I would anticipate an update via email in the next week or so as everything comes to a consensus. So sorry for the long way; we certainly appreciate your patience throughout!
Best of luck!

Hey, @kenmar36!
I believe we already connected on Facebook, but I just wanted to post an update here in case other Candidates may be facing something similar! Our Southwest Careers Team would only reach out via emails that come from SouthwestCareers@interviews.southwestair.com, alerts@recruit.southwestair.com, or our Company email addresses end in @wnco.com. We have seen instances where Candidates are being solicited by scammers and may be impersonating Southwest Airlines or one of our Recruiters. We encourage Candidates to stay vigilant, keep in mind that we'll never ask for any sort of payment to apply or become employed at Southwest Airlines, and all of our open jobs can be found and applied to on our Careers site: https://careers.southwestair.com.
I'm so sorry to you & anyone facing something similar! Please feel free to tag me or reach out to Southwest's official Facebook or X/Twitter channels if you ever want a helping hand verifying the validity of career outreach you may be receiving!
Thank you for reaching out!

Hi, @nickilove173!

I know the wait can be the hardest part, and we're so appreciative of your patience and your interest in a career with Heart! 💙

Hi, @GoTigers123!
Thanks for reaching out! I took a closer look at your application for the Cybersecurity Engineer Internship, and your application was removed from consideration when you answered "no" to the question "Are you progressing towards a degree, major, or minor in Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or Information Technology, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Business OR similar degree?"
Since it's required that applicants be progressing toward a degree, major, or minor in at least one of these focus areas, your application was removed from consideration when you indicated that you weren't doing so. So sorry for any confusion or disappointment.

Looks like those applications are still active! When we receive many applications, as we did with the particular postings, it can take extra time for our Teams to review, coordinate interviews, and share updates along the way. You have our apologies for the longer than anticipated wait, and we certainly appreciate your patience. Next updates should be shared via email soon!

Hi, @valeriaftibocha!
Thanks for reaching out. I took a look at your UI/UX Design Internship application, and your application was removed from consideration due to you answering "no" to this question:
"As a candidate do you have entry level experience, specialized knowledge in: Digital Experience Design, User Experience Design, Digital Marketing, Marketing, and Large Organization Experience".
That said, I see that we also received your application for the Digital Solutions Internship! This application is still active, and our Teams should begin reviewing those applications after the application window closes on September 16!

Hey, @Cassandragreeni!
Happy Tuesday! So sorry for the confusion there - there was an error with the application process that automatically removed your application (and a handful of Candidates' applications) from consideration. We've since corrected this, and your application was reactivated!

Hi there, @NathanBriscoe. Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out & for your interest in joining the Southwest Family!
I do see you've applied to a handful of roles in our Technology Department this year, and I'm sorry to hear that none of those have worked out just yet. In 2024, we announced we would be hiring less and there would be less opportunities to join our Team - but the ones out there are still super exciting and impactful work. This means that many of our postings have received more applications that in the past, because competition is higher for the fewer number of postings. Competition has been fierce!
My number one recommendation is to monitor the Careers site regularly and try to sort for positions that interest you by most recently posted. Getting your application in earlier increases your chances of being reviewed. It took me multiple times to get my role (and I know many, many others to be the same!) until someone shared that same advice with me.
Your application for the Sr Software Engineer R-2024-45598 is pending, and I'm hopeful our Teams will have the opportunity to connect with you soon. Rooting for you!

Hey, @JeremiahB2000! Thanks so much for reaching out & for your interest in a career with Heart!
I took a closer look at your recent applications, and I'm glad to provide some additional information!
For R-2024-39986 Ramp Agent STL, your application was removed due to answers on the application questionnaire deeming your application ineligible. Specifically, you answered "No" to the question, "Do you currently possess a valid/unrestricted Driver’s License issued in the United States? (suspended, expired, revoked, or denied are not considered valid)". Having a valid and unrestricted Driver's License issued in the US is required for this role, since Ramp Agents drive bag carts, tugs, and other vehicles as part of their role.
For R-2024-43567 Freight Agent STL, your application was removed due to having more applications than we were able to review for the posting. When we receive many applications for one role, we review those applications in the order received & there are cases where we aren't able to review every submitted application. This is no reflection of your skills, experience background; we simply weren't able to get to your application.
I'd encourage you to keep trying! We're so appreciative of your interest, and I'm really hoping our Team can connect with you soon!
Best,
Adrienne - Community Moderator

Hi, @Lynaefocken!
I took a quick look, and it does look like our Teams are still actively recruiting for that R-2024-44927 Part Time Customer Service Agent role for OMA! There were quite a few applications (just about 300 in total!), so it's going to take our Team some time to review those in the order they were received - and they may not be able to review all of the applications received. I'm hopeful they'll have an update to share with you via email very soon!

Hi, @Sdavis1996 and all!
@SoCalFlyer97 is spot on that hiring has been reduced for the 2024 year. That said, there are still great opportunities on the horizon and to be excited about. I would echo their recommendation to join our Talent Community for a monthly newsletter on the hiring world at Southwest! https://careers.southwestair.com/jointalentcommunity
However, I would not recommend arriving to the airport and demanding contact information or an interview. All Candidates must apply to an open position, which you can always review and apply to on our Careers site: https://careers.southwestair.com/. My best advice is to always apply as soon as you see something of interest to you; the sooner your application is received, the sooner our Team may be able to get to your application. We receive many applications for posted roles, and we may not always be able to review all of them. Applying sooner increases your chance of review.
Additionally, each role has a unique Recruiting Team associated with it. So you may work with with one person when applying to one role, and then another person when applying to a second role. Since each Recruiting Team is customized to the open position, having one person's email or contact information wouldn't serve your job hunt well.
With all of that being said, keep up your positivity! We're so appreciative that you're interested in a career with Heart, and we hope to connect with you soon!

Yes, we often hold two interviews for a position. Typically, the first will be with just the Recruiter, and the second will be with the Recruiter and a Leader of the desired role - of course that varies a bit depending on Leader schedules and capacity!
You're welcome to share with your Recruiter that you're excited to have completed the first interview and are open the second, and they should be able to see the details from your first interview (and any other interviews you've completed with us!).😊

As we continue to celebrate Disability Pride Month, we reflect on how far we’ve come at Southwest Airlines and as a community in advancing inclusion for people with disabilities. We’re passionate about creating awareness and acceptance of individuals with disabilities because disability awareness and education are integral to what we do across the Company.
Don’t just take our word for it. Learn more about what disability inclusion means to Ashley M.*, DEN Customer Service Agent:
"Working at Southwest Airlines isn't 'just a job,' it’s a passion and an adventure rooted in deep Southwest Culture! My journey started in Denver as your Neighborhood Friendly Deaf Customer Service Agent. Being a culturally deaf individual since birth, I needed special and reasonable accommodations for me to do my job efficiently due to my hearing disability. I’m grateful for the opportunity to use my cell phone on duty to provide Legendary Customer Service and Hospitality to our Internal and External Customers.
With my phone connected to my cochlear implant, I can call our Service Desk and improve communication with my Team Members at our DEN Station and systemwide. I’m also connected at my fingertips using Microsoft Teams, Company email, sending and receiving texts with my Cohearts, and many other work-related functions that my job requires. The Accommodations Team worked tirelessly to meet my needs so I could be successful at Southwest now and for many years to come! Working at Southwest is the best decision I’ve ever made, and without the Accommodations Team, I wouldn't be where I am now in my career. I’m proud to be a Coheart—if I can do this, so can you!"
*The photo above of Ashley is from an Independence Day cookout at our DEN Station, where she volunteered on her day off to serve and connect with Cohearts.
We want inclusion and support for every Employee and their families, Leaders, and Cohearts. Our Accommodations Team can help you bring your best self to work daily. The Team works directly with Employees and Candidates who may need reasonable accommodations and serves as a resource for disability best practices.
How does the Accommodations Team support Employees?
The Team works directly with Employees who may need accommodations to perform their job responsibilities best. Accommodations are broader than most people think. Examples of accommodations include:
Equipment
Work environment (lighting, etc.)
Break adjustments
Religious requests
Uniforms
Workplace accommodations based on a medical condition, including any pregnancy-related restrictions
Since the beginning of the year, the Accommodations Team has handled more than 2,600 requests! The Team also participates in many disability-related opportunities, such as training classes, special events, and allyship groups.
How does the accommodation process work?
Employees and Candidates can request accommodations since we’re committed to helping individuals with disabilities participate in the workforce and ensuring equal opportunity. After someone submits an accommodation request, an Accommodation Specialist starts the interactive process to determine if an effective and reasonable accommodation is available to help them successfully apply for, compete for, and perform their job responsibilities.
The Accommodations Team also partners with our Career Mobility Team (think of them like a college career center!) on medical reassignments, a unique accommodation at Southwest. These Teams work together to identify a possible new role for Cohearts who can no longer perform their current role due to permanent medical restrictions.

Hi there, @laura45
Thanks so much for your interest in the Destination 225° Program, particularly the University Pathway. Applications for the University Pathway closed earlier this year, in March, to align with business strategy and Pilot hiring plans. While we don't have specifics as to when this pathway will reopen, it will likely be around September/October 2024 for a limited time. Be sure you submit the Expression of Interest form to be of the first to know when we open the application process back up and when you may submit an application for the program.

Hey there, @PrestonW!
Apologies for the delay in answering this one - I appreciate your interest in our Internship program! Our Campus Reach Team oversees Southwest's internships, and they work with Teams throughout the Company to identify which Teams are open to hosting an Intern, the responsibilities of an Intern on those Teams, and the full details of what a Spring Internship with Southwest would look for them. This conversations are ongoing now, to be shared and open for applications September 1 – September 15, 2024. In short, we aren't ready to share those position details just yet, but we'd encourage you to logon September 1 to find out & see is anything is of interest to you!

Hey, @AnyMD1 & @danielvest00
Thanks so much for tagging me in for this one. I took a look at that R-2024-42097 Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor position, and it looks like the recruiting process is ongoing. There was an email update sent to all Candidates on April 30 advising that interviews have started, but that additional Candidates may be invited to interviews as needed. That is why you're likely seeing your application still in progress, because hiring hasn't been finalized for the role just yet!
That said, I touched base with our Recruiters over this posting, and they'll be digging in to see if there is another update they can provide to Candidates soon. I'm always of the opinion that touchpoints and transparency are so important, especially during the wait after you click "submit" on an application. Thanks for your patience with this application - and on your previous applications, Daniel! Wishing you both the very best!
