To me, business travel on flights are dressed up flight attendants (I have no problem with dressing up-I LUV to!-but when you're on your feet a lot, I'm for casual clothes if it's appropriate like it is on SWA) & serious employees who can't or don't make the FA safety demonstration fun, who don't dress up on holidays, or who don't decorate for the holidays, etc. I do have a serious side, but am all for having fun! Wow! This is interesting. I'm glad you do this. I know what it's like to have test anxiety & experienced some of that in college; I always get nervous before tests, though! I've been to HDQ twice when I interviewed for FA position & saw some neat displays. I didn't know about what was mentioned here (the blog)! I'd really LUV to tour HDQ. That would be fun! I forgot to add this, but I would much rather see a pink ribbon (in support & encouragement of those who have breast cancer; I don't have breast cancer) on a SW plane. That's definitely more appropriate & for a good cause. Perhaps even a purple ribbon could be painted on for people like me who have an eating disorder, too. I'm serious. ... View more

How do you decide what cities to have service to? By the way, when did you begin service to my hometown of TUL? 🙂 I'm going to guess. *Looks up & puts right index finger on head.* I guess 1979. Maybe I should try to see how many SWA flights I can go on without stopping (not counting stopping at night to go to bed)! Oh, Tom, I'm sorry! I, too wanted to be a flight attendant for a long time! Even when I was in college (& I really am glad I received the degrees I did), I still thought that's what I wanted to do. Even though I interviewed 8 times for 3 positions (one being FA) with Southwest, I was never selected for training after my one-on-one interviews. Yes, I was crushed & definitely cried! It stil makes me sad sometimes. I am going back to college again this Fall because I want to go into the mental health field, which is another big, long time interest of mine. Believe me, if I could work as an FA, a CSA, & an RSA with Southwest, as well as in the mental health field, I would do it! I have some friends where I live who work for SWA. I LUV them a lot!! :) I'm glad you did get to work for various airlines. I like to use my imagination & pretend I'm an FA with Southwest; for example, after church, I like to pretend my church bulletin (which is trifold) is the safety demo card! Hmmm. I'll have to try again! Sorry if this gets posted twice! Anyway, yes Jill, it's the same Leah! 🙂 Congratulations on being offered a position! Do you mind sharing which one it's for? Yes, I'm still in Tulsa, but for only about 8 more months! I'm going away to college again next Fall for another degree! I've been accepted to Texas Woman's University in Denton, back to East Central University in Ada, OK , & I'm waiting to hear back from University of Central Okla. in Edmond. There's no reason why I shouldn't be accepted to UCO. Most likely, I'll go to TWU or UCO. I'm going to visit both schools in January. If I go to Texas, I'll have another good reason to fly Southwest home for breaks & holidays! I'm staying busy. For the past year, I've been, & I still am, seeing an outpatient psychologist (she's great! I love-LUV-her!), a dietician (I LUV her, too!), & psychiatrist, because I have an eating disorder-I've named my eating disorder ED, & Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I'm getting better. By the way, if this gets posted, it's fine. If Southwest ever hires psychologists &/or researchers, you can hire me! Some of my heroes are my dear friends at Southwest Airlines, especially Shannon (she's a CSS), Jennifer (a CSA), & Donnie (a CSA); my Psychologist & Dietican are two more of my heroes & dear friends, as well as my friends at my in my Sunday School class at church who are Deaf. I'm a member of a Sunday School class for Deaf & Hard of Hearing, & we have a wonderful interpreter, & I look up to her, too! I have plenty of other heroes, too! In October & November 2006, I interviewed for a CSA position at CMH. Even though I wasn't picked for training, I still LUV CMH & SWA! The city, airport, & of course, staff, are very nice. Jill, a CSA who was one that did my first interview, reminds me of one of my Piano teachers I had in college! 🙂 Another nice thing about the airport is it has one of my favorite stores-Bath & Body Works! Of course, I had to make a purchase there, even though we have that store in my hometown of TUL.
