Here are the weight and size information for checked bags. https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/baggage/checked-bags-pol.html Your dimensions seem to add up to the limit of 62" total, actually a half-inch over I don't expect that would be literally checked with a tape measure, especially if you stay under 50 lbs and the bags have handles for ease of moving them, etc. Something that heavy (and 33" height) and since you mentioned the oversize issue, I'm assuming is not a carry-on, but here you go just in case: https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/baggage/carryon-bags-pol.html Edit: spelling correction

Any guidance will be appreciated. Thank you. To add to @franktravel's post, just be sensitive about the weight of the luggage with the groceries since items with liquid or that have a lot of water content might be heavy.

Hopefully you were able to take off without problems. I've only been to RDU one time and I can't remember the runway layout, hopefully they have two or more options on angles so that if one runway is getting a cross-wind, another runway could be used where that same wind is in a tolerable direction.

I'm afraid that if I don't book soon, the flights I need will be sold out. Does anyone know how long it takes till I receive and can use my voucher? I was hoping it would be something immediate but from what I'm finding online this doesn't seem to be the case... If you fly very often then it won't be hard to use the voucher later when it comes, if you are worried about price increases or desirable times selling out it may make sense to book now. Or use points that could be returned to you and use the voucher later (unless prices are too high then).

@cschullerwrote: I am working towards a companion pass and should have it the beginning of April. Four of us plan on booking a trip and I'd like to start securing the booking. I have enough points now to book all 4 of us, but wondering if it's better to just book 3 for now and hope that the extra spot is available when we get ht CP or do I book 4 and cancel one and apply the companion pass when that time comes? Just wondered what would be the better way of doing it? The backup plan for hoping one is available is that you'd have to fly the person separately on another flight, or all re-book - bad option! Especially since a points booking has the points returned to your account when you cancel, so there's not much downside to holding a spot with today's prices with points. Also, I've read that it's better to book one way tickets in the event we want to change a time/date. Any advise as to that? There's no financial penalty to book one-ways, along with many upsides. The downside may be to keep track of multiple confirmation numbers, but otherwise there are a lot of flexibilities, especially if you cancel or change your flights very often.

@rdgusswrote: The information on E-cigs and Vape pens is available online. I informed myself a few minutes ago of the policy. Why is it, that this policy is not made clear, and passengers made aware, before Southwest takes the checked luggage, inspects it, finds your merchandise, and discards it before informing you that they are doing so? Unfortunately I just saw this article about a flight on "the other guys" where they didn't catch it at screening and nearly had an incident: https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/article/this-delta-flight-scare-is-a-reminder-why-you-should-never-put-electronics-with-lithium-batteries-in-checked-baggage/ar-BBKauXe?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartanntp Anyway - sorry about your experience, but word is getting out about these items but it isn't 100% yet for sure, and the screening doesn't seem to catch it all of the time either which makes it more important to spread the information not to check these batteries.

I suggest calling customer service and if they would like to have anything emailed to them, you can do it from their instructions. Twitter @SouthwestAir may also be a channel, or Facebook (I don't connect that way myself, but hear it on these boards as a method to communicate by messaging).

If you cancel your flight which operates normally then I don't think it does, the EBCI fee is non-refundable and is not part of the flight credit. If you change the ticket, the EBCI carries through. It should be refundable if Southwest cancels the flight and you don't rebook.

Did you ever get an answer? For anyone else reading this, there is a 24-hour period where you should call back and ask to cancel. Don't try to re-book! It only confuses things to try and do both, if the customer service is able to change the flight then it becomes non-refundable, a number of mix-ups can occur. Cancel within 24 hours, then rebook online with the corrected information.

It had been a few months for me - my apologies, it did pull automatically from somewhere, I didn't have to use autofill. So OP, definitely make sure the companion has everything lined up name-wise where you added the companion and in their own profile which must match PreCheck's records. Otherwise be sure to type it in the next time if it doesn't auto-populate and maybe that's where it gets remembered from. I didn't see any place to edit that information in my own profile, although maybe there was a place to enter it when orignially naming the companion. Good luck...let us know how what the solution is.

I'm not touching mine while it is working fine! I didn't find any place to enter it with the companion checking earlier today in my own profile. I thought it was auto-filling, but if you are sure that it pulls from the profile then I would start there. Make sure the KTN gets input when you book the companion, it may not pull over automatically from the companion's profile. I know its a pain, but if you use the same computer to book each time it will be in the auto-fill for future times. Otherwise when checking in the companion can call and have the KTN added if it doesn't show up and then reprint, or swing by the ticket counter to have the agent reprint at the airport although this adds ten to fifteen minutes earlier arrival. Edit: let me add that I'm pretty sure they are not intentionally discouraging your use of companion pass...they want you to be hooked for life. I think it's an implementation gap that they would fix if...well, it's complicated.

@chgoflyerwrote: Otherwise, the original passenger would have a credit in their name, good for one year from the date of purchase. If that passenger is now the named companion, the CP holder would need to change that to a different person at some point before the credit expires in order to not lose the flight credit. Or take a separate flight without the CP holder - I know it is rare for us to do that speaking from personal experience - but we had a credit to use for my wife so she ended up taking a trip that she was 50/50 on, but since the credit would expire anyway she went ahead and flew without me one time. We also might use it for me to head off to business and then her to join me there using flight credit for a one-way, and then using the CP on the return flight.

@Hilaryannewrote: I disagree on this. Attached are the terms I received, and they say new flights booked within the promo period. Not booked after registration. I didn’t receive the email about the promo until the last week of February and already have 8 flights booked in the promo time frame. I read this that those will count. Thoughts? "Valid on new reservations booked during the promotional period" - so I would interpret this to exclude flights booked outside of the promotional period....but it sounds like you had actually booked the flights during this time, just without having been offered the special when you did so? I'm an engineer so I follow the flow like water through a pipe which was register, then book, but I can see your argument that it doesn't quite specify that the order of those two was important. How many flights were you short last year? I think their intention is to let people close a gap of a few flights...were you that close?

Ultimately this would be up to Chase. Their first approach is to have the business listed as the co-signer, and I've heard they also accept 1099's for indpendent contractors. I don't know if this would work for your husband if the independent business isn't in his name but the credit card would be. Let us know how it goes.

This forum is user-to-user, but we'll have a few suggestions. You can let them expire, and then call to request they be re-issued as vouchers which is an unadvertised case-by-case exception. There is a fee for this, also unadvertised and subject to change, but reported to be $100 per ticket. The vouchers would be usable for your own tickets as opposed to flight credit which is in the name of the passenger only. I don't think anything in Southwest's procedures keeps your ex-bf from using them at-will if he has the confirmation number - depending on your terms he could pay you some amount of money and keep the travel funds for his own use if he's flying anywhere. If he's unaware of the situation you might not want to remind him though. You could try calling customer service with the information and ask to get them converted to vouchers earlier, but I don't think Southwest can do this since they don't know what private agreements might be made, they should be really hesitant to cancel/refund the funds before they expire, but you could call and try and ask for a re-issue as vouchers earlier.

@ccapulli26wrote: I am pregnant and will be traveling alone with my 17 month old in a couple of weeks. Will I get priority seating since I am pregnant? However I understand that it may be best to board last (less time on a plane with a toddler). Where is the best place to sit in my situation..isn't the first aisle bigger and would it be more suitable for me? What are the odds of an extra seat being available and being able to sit next to it? With a 17 month old you can definitely do the "A61" family boarding. If your doctor recommended that you pre-board (for instance to reduce amount of time standing) that could be a reason to request pre-boarding. You don't have to bring a note or provide any document, just let the ticket agent know when you check-in that the doctor recommended you ask for it. I would consider taking a window seat to minimize disturbance from a neighbor getting up/down, especially if it is a shorter flight. Also check at the counter before boarding how full the flight is. 1) Having a young child on your lap gets you more likely to keep one of the remaining middles open. People tend to avoid sitting by kids, but if you were going someplace like Orlando it will be unavoidable so that won't be an advantage for you. I like the first third of the plane for an empty middle on a relatively full flight - the last people from C-group that are boarding often have carry-ons, but the bin space up front will be full - they'll keep going to the back and take a middle seat there many times. 2) If there will be lots of empty seats on your flight I would be fine putting your child on the middle seat to start with. Make sure when the flight attendant comes through for the passenger count that you identify as a lap child though or else the count will be off by 1. I agree with @TheMiddleSeat - don't board last, definitely board as early as you are entitled to and get a comfortable seat. There will be plenty of waiting around either way, you won't gain that much by waiting to board. There is quite a bit of information on traveling with young children on this community as well - you didn't mention if you are looking for suggestions with gate checks, baby gear, formula, etc. or if you have that down already.
