In general, the bigger the aircraft the less "bouncy" it will be. The 800 is "slightly" bigger than the 700, so it would be "slightly" less bouncy. I'm, not sure it would even be noticeable.
Now for a big difference in "bounciness," a 747 would be a lot less "bouncy" than any 737.

In our culture, people with a disability are viewed equally so give no attention whatsoever to those that might look and judge. Let them.
If you declare the need to preboard, and someone interferes with that request, they are violating Federal regulations.
I have read The Air Carrier Access Act in its complete detail and know what is in the law.
No one, not the airlines nor another passenger, has the right to ask specific questions about your declaration of a disability. No one.
Announce yourself as someone needing to preboard and that's all there is.

If I wasn’t ALP I think I’d pay the extra $20ish to get A1-15 during peak travel season if going with a group buy 1 upgrade boarding then save seats further back in the plane (row 10 vs row 1 isn’t that different) less people might ask for your seats and one of the first on the plane (after preboarders) is better than you could still be last

I don't expect any resolution from this, but a lesson was learned...I had $1200 stolen fromi accidentally placing cash in a checked bag, which was handled by TSA, customer service at check-in, and baggage crew. It is very frustrating to know that someone is going through your baggage and stealing property, with little recourse to you, the traveler. From now on, cash is carried on my person. Be careful out there!
We obviously don't know what happened here but one observation is that only one group of these people have the means to see inside of a suitcase without actually opening every bag and looking for little sacks of money.
Many parts of a bag's journey through the airport are out in the open and so it would be much less likely for someone to randomly look for something valuable in there while also getting their job done.
Check-in - that bag is tagged and on the conveyor in seconds, I think we can rule them out unless you specifically mentioned having a bunch of money in the luggage.
But your point is well-taken - don't check valuables which could be lost or stolen.

Hi! My family will be going on a cruise out of LA. After the cruise, my son(8 years-old) will continue on with my sister and her family to Dallas. Now her family has purchased their tickets and paid for early check in. I paid for my son ticket with his travel credit and link their confirmation to his so he is not registered as a unaccompanied minor. Now the question is, do I need to purchase early check in for him to guarantee that he will board with them?
If you have four or five adults all in a row, and one kid that has a later position, you can probably have your son line up with them all in line especially if they all have EBCI and he will also have it, hopefully not too far behind.
The numbering gets a little loose when people just get more or less in their position so I wouldn't worry about +/- five positions difference in position.
The operations agent might bounce someone back in line if they are not in the right boarding group though, or I saw someone with a high A-number try to board with their A-1 companion and that didn't fly.
But if they all have B1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and he's standing with them at B10 or B15 it's probably fine.
If not do as @TheMiddleSeat suggested and have one adult hang back with him until his position while the others hold spots for the two of them.

For some reason I’m not getting my Rapid Rewards for flights automatically anymore. I also can’t find where to enter my flight to get my rewards. I googled it and went to my profile and I can’t find anything. I emailed southwest and it has to be elevated to another person or whatever. I’m so frustrated.
But also to follow up on this - there seems to be a problem with your reservations not having your RR# entered correctly, or name mismatch is causing it not to go automatically, hopefully you can figure out what isn't matching or something in how the tickets are being booked is not making the RR# populate through.

Airports typically have signage and announcements to guide passengers to their connecting flights. Your 14-year-old should look for signs indicating the gate or terminal of his connecting flight and follow them. If he needs assistance, he can ask any airport staff member or go to a customer service desk for help. It's also a good idea to make sure he knows the airline, flight number, and departure time of his connecting flight in case he needs to ask for assistance.
As for the number of workers at the airport at that time of day, it may depend on the airport and the day of the week. However, most airports have staff available 24/7 to assist passengers.
In terms of tips, you can advise your 14-year-old to give himself plenty of time to get to his gate, stay aware of his surroundings, and avoid leaving his belongings unattended. It may also be helpful to remind him to carry a charged phone with important numbers programmed in, including yours and the airline's customer service number.

My Aunt received the same email after contacting SW several times either via phone or the Contact Us option. She finally received her points after establishing a Twitter account, following Southwest Airlines, and then sending them a Direct Message (DM) with all of her information (case number, flight number, confirmation number, RR #). DO NOT reply to their posts but instead send a direct message (that will ensure that you are not giving out personal info to the Twitter world). It worked for her (and I've read where it has worked for others). Try it. You have only 16 more days to claim.

The absolute least you could spend, forgoing any bonuses for now, would be if you bought $9,643 worth of business select fares. Then you get 1 point per dollar, extra 1 point per dollar on Southwest.com, and 12x points for business select.
If you only buy WGA fares then that 12x turns into 6x, the total will be $16,875.
Now obviously you probably will be using the card on other expenses besides just airfare, so you can balance that out for each $1 spend on other things you would reduce the airfare spend.
If you didn't fly at all (why would you want companion pass then?) then it would literally be $135,000, so out of reach for many of us unless there are business expenses involved.
A reasonable split is probably going to be somewhere around 1/3 airfare and 2/3 spending up to 2/3 airfare and 1/3 spending - somewhere in that range.
However there are some bonuses available, maybe you are even on a sign-up bonus that might be tens of thousands of the points.
And keep an eye out for promotional offers - last year I caught a 2x offer on airfare that really added up.

Last, book the companion since you might use up the last two spots in the current fare bracket with the kids and then if you did that in reverse with the companion ticket the points value for the kids might be higher.
This is an awesome tip! I recently ran into a similar situation... price on a trip I had booked went down so I canceled my companion's reservation so I could rebook my reservation at the lower price. When I canceled the companion the fare dropped even more as it freed up a fare in the lower priced bucket.
That's awesome! A neat little treasure hunt there.

Is there a trick to getting SW drink coupons? I've been flying Southwest solely for nearly 15 years now, rougly 8 flights per year. I'm an A-lister and also hold a Companion Pass via my SW credit card spend. I have never been offered and Ive never recieved a single drink coupon. What gives? Are there certain requirements in order to receive them?
Did you get it resolved yet?
Any new information that you found out after talking to Southwest? I want you to start getting your coupons!

Hi - please add new route into Medford! The area is beautiful and we go there at least 4 times a year. There is hiking, river for kayaking, fishing, and multiple vineyards. The United and Alaska flights are typically full - especially during Shakespeare festival. I have been with Southwest since 1993 and travel a lot for business. Flying into Medford is one of few times I don’t fly Southwest. Portland and Sac are too far away. Eugene is closer but it is 4 hours away on treacherous mountain road - in winter it was horrible- we tried. Please add flight into Medford.

The problem is that Southwest does not operate red eye flights.
So for example, the earliest HNL/LAS flight gets into LAS at 4:45 pm. Allow 45 minutes for connections and the earliest you could leave LAS is 5:30 PM (8:30 ET). If you could hook on to a non stop flight you would get into ECP at 2:30AM the next day. If no non stop, but direct, it's even later. If you need a connection, you are not going to find one getting into ECP (or any other east coast airport) at 3 AM or later.
The reason you can find flights to Hawaii is that time zones help you. The reason you can't find flights back is that time zones hurt you. Now if SW were to offer 1 am departures from Hawaii, this would be easy, but it does not.

Use the Contact Southwest Customer Service to let the airline know you are interested!
This is a customer to customer forum so nobody from Southwest will likely respond here.
Knoxville has been one of the more popular requests we see on the message board, the only issue I see would be that coming in there would be competing with Allegiant who is already an ULCC, usually Southwest will be trying to move into airports where they'll be the lower end of the fare spectrum.
Also many people within a 1-2 hour radius of the airport will be within reasonable driving range of BNA two hours away which is already a busy Southwest airport.
But who knows - drop your comment in and if there are gates available maybe it will happen.

Correct. My bank doesn’t have the charge on it so all for 3 weeks now.
flight is not until May, but I did purchase early bird so I’ll know within 36hrs.
concerned that if I’m not able to check in,
it would be too short of notice and will have to find/pay for another flight if sold out. I have friends on the same flight as we’re all going out of country on vacation. I really just want to make the payment and be done with it, but SW has not been able to assist (can’t blame them).
Although your position is reserved at T-36 hours you still can't retrieve your boarding pass until T-24, so that will still be when you find out.
How far are you from an airport? This almost sounds like something to stop in and check in person if it's not too far out of the way. it would help a lot to have someone looking at the system that you can talk to live. The phone agents must not run into this scenario very often.
Otherwise I'd try the twitter team to see if they can dig a little deeper on it, find out what happened to the payment. Make sure that if it isn't cleared that you can pay the current amount that day in person if it doesn't work.

All aircraft have a maximum crosswind component (wind speed and number of degrees off the center line). Exceed that number and you are not authorized to attempt a landing. Taking off with a cross wind is not an issue. Most of the time wind is not 90 degrees off the center line, and even if it is the wind speed then has to be high enough to be a problem.
So, most jet aircraft can "handle" all but the most extreme crosswind components - even at single runway airports. Landings can get interesting, but that's why you have experienced pilots making big bucks.
Most landings are crosswind as most of the time wind is not coming directly down the center line.

Hi everyone. I thought this was happening to me too but just figured out what I was missing. Maybe this will help some of you.
Example:
Base Fare $196.53
Business Select multiplier of 12pts/$
= 2,358 points into my A-List qualifying bank
= 2,358 points into my Companion Pass bank
AND because I’m currently A-List preferred I get the 100% bonus, so I get 2,358 x 2 = 4,716 deposited into my Rapid Rewards bank
So, I thought they were splitting my points too but I just was not accustomed to getting the 100% extra in RR due to current preferred status.
