This website isn't actually support. Your best bet is to reach out to Southwest customer service, I recommend via Twitter for the quickest response. Unfortunately as you have now learned, Southwest's PayPal implementation is buggy, and a frequent source of complaint.

Can you clarify what you mean by "flying in or out"? I assume you actually mean only flying out of those two cities? You can fly in to either city from many, many places in the Southwest system, but I doubt Ops agents at all those various airports will have received training on this test. 😉

If you have only one confirmation number, you'll be able to check in all passengers at the same time, and then print out each boarding pass. You should have your friend sign up for a Rapid Rewards account, then add their number so that they receive points.

Southwest used to allow travel funds to be used by anyone, but they stopped that in 2011. Unfortunately, this makes them consistent with most every other carrier, who have the same "non-transferrable" policy.

It's very common now to receive a B position even after paying the EarlyBird Check-In fee.

EarlyBird Check-In exists primarily as a profit center for Southwest (over $250 million last year alone), which should answer your question.

Yes. Once purchased, points are indistinguishable from any other points in your account. Cancelling a flight booked with those points will redeposit the points into your account. One important note is that purchased points do not qualify for Companion Pass or A-List. Also, keep in mind that point purchases are not refundable.

The September 11 fee is not non-refundable. You can request a refund to your credit card, unless you've made any changes to your itinerary, in which case the fee will be held under the confirmation number as travel funds, usable by the original passenger only, for one year from the date of purchase.

The companion pass points threshold is 110,000 (not 100,000). But otherwise, you are correct. If you are able to earn 110,000 Companion Pass qualifying points before the end of the year, you will receive Companion Pass for the remainder of this year and all of next year. The best advice is to earn the 110,000 early in a year, so that you earn Companion Pass for all of that year and all of the following year. But if you would like to take advantage of the points you've already earned in 2017, then your plan is solid. As long as you act quickly. The bonus points are sent to Southwest from Chase a few days after the end of the billing cycle in which you make the $2,000 threshold. Just remember that you will actually need 110,000. And that there is a chance that, despite your best efforts, things will not post in 2017, leaving you without a Companion Pass. Good luck.

It sort of depends on what you mean by "wrong name." If you accidentally used a variation of the name on your ID, then that can be corrected -- as mentioned just call, or better yet tweet -- Southwest, and be prepared to provide ID for confirmation. If you mean a completely different name, then no, that's not something they can actually do, as tickets are non-transferable.

They are not actually trying to fix the issue. That's the problem. There is absolutely no way it would take over TWO YEARS to fix something like this. For whatever reason, they've decided this is not a priority.

There are multiple other threads about this. Basically, it's gone, and it's not coming back. Speculation is that, with so many errors and issues plaguing the website these days, support for this feature was deemed expendable. The official line is that they are "working on" many "exciting new ways" for customers to "discover destinations," but I would't hold my breath. 😞

Unfortunately -- it's too late to help now -- if you book only one-way trips, the funds would have been used up on the initial flight. As a general rule, it's a good idea to always book one-way flights on Southwest. Unfortunately, Southwest will not extend the expiration of any travel funds or vouchers. If the amount is over $100 you may be able to have them reissued after expiration, minus a $100 fee.

Tickets are not transferable. Assuming you purchased Wanna Get Away tickets, you'll need to cancel your husband's, and the funds will be reserved for use in his name only for one year from the date of purchase. If you happened to use RR Points to book the flights, you can simply cancel your husband's and the points will be redeposited into your account, and can be used to book your daughter's ticket.

Seriously. They are not going to change the system for you. It's ludicrous to expect a specific seat from a carrier that does not assign seats.

Customers are negatively affected by this. We cannot complete critical work while en route This basically takes us back to 2006 - no real connectiity on our flights, and limited productivity. Zero security. Competing airlines offer this service with VPN ports unblocked. This makes us reconsider our airline choice. What is SWA going to do to address this problem, if anything? When will it be addressed, if at all? All we need is a straightforward answer, either Yes We Can and By This Date, or No We Can't. We'll adjust our travel plans accordingly. Either answer is sufficient. Thank You Kindly! Rob LOL. You expect *way* too much. 😉

Your opinion means nothing. It's irrelevant to how Southwest operates. Pre-boards can't sit in exit rows because of FAA regulations. Otherwise, Southwest uses an OPEN SEATING system. Passengers are allowed to take whatever seat they desire. This is the definition of OPEN SEATING. If a particular seat is important to you, instead of using literally the only carrier that uses an OPEN SEATING system, consider one that offers assigned seating.

Open seating. You might want to change your assumptions, as BS makes no such promises. 😉 Also, how do you know that the passengers from the previous flight didn't buy BS? If a specific seat is important to you, I think you might be better off on a carrier with assigned seating.

No. All travel must be completed, not just booked, before expiration. If you apply those funds to a new reservation, that new reservation will expire Dec. 7 as well, including any new money you add. Southwest won't extend funds, but once expired you can request reissue as a voucher. The fee for that is $100, so that won't help you. 😞

@TheMiddleSeat wrote: If you use the change option to rebook the flights (don't cancel and rebook) you will be get the points refund and retain EBCI, but your EBCI position will be as if you just made the reservation so it may not be quite as good a boarding position number as the one associated with your original reservation. You'll have to decide if the points refund is worth the adjusted boarding position. Actually, my understanding is that the time stamp of an EBCI purchase only changes if you change to a different flight. Have you seen evidence otherwise?
