What if anything is SWA doing to support TSA’s recent change: Children between the ages of 13 and 17 who will be traveling on the same reservation as an enrolled parent or guardian may also access the TSA PreCheck® lanes, provided the children have the TSA PreCheck® indicator on their boarding pass.
My soon to be 13 yo son is my Companion Pass holder & 8 am trying to figure out how to get Precheck indicator on his boarding pass when he is traveling with me.
Thanks in advance for your help!

This should happen automatically since the change isn’t recent, it went into effect May 2023. Just make sure you are on the same reservation and you enter the adult passenger’s pre-check number when booking.
I will add there is always the possibility for exceptions:
TSA’s website notes “Children 13 to 17 may be randomly excluded from receiving TSA PreCheck on their boarding pass. In these cases, they must go through standard security screening.”

Since I am booking him as a companion, where do I enter my number?

Under your passenger info, the same as you would if you were flying without a companion.
