If you don't want to deal with having to get a refund, he can just request the seat at the check-in counter or even the gate. They will make it work including overselling the flight if necessary.

@bwallet Thanks. The intent of this discussion forum again proves that it works. I'm glad I withdrew my name from consideration for community champion, I've still got so much to learn. I'm a much better purchaser and flyer than I am an informer.

My husband can't stand for 2 hours in line waiting to get on a plane.
Please clarify what this means?? When do you ever stand in line for 2 hours to get on a plane? If you're talking about boarding, I've at the most been in line for 30 min. Unless you're one of those people who even before they talk about boarding for some reason have to get the spot on in line. I've always waited until they start checking in the pre-boarding because after that is when they start to allow A boarding.
