I’ve gotten 2 different responses at Southwest about kayak sizes. I’ve been told my 14’, 60 lb kayak is ok to bring with me, I’ve been told 80 inches is max size, I’ve been told as long as it’s not a sea kayak, bring it on. So which is it? I need to make reservation tonight with the Wow special to get to California.

The maximum size for ANY piece of checked luggage is 80 inches (H+L+W) as defined on page 40 of SW's contract of carriage.
Any item that exceeds 62 inches incurs an oversize fee of $75
