@SpasmaticFlow “Closed Complete" is a normal status in the application process. If you are selected to move forward, someone from the SW Recruiting Team will reach out to you either through phone or email.

@calhutch are the job postings still available to apply to? If yes, then I would think that you can start over. Honesty, it’s rare that an applicant “accidentally“ withdraws on 2 postings and then wants to be re-submitted. If no, the postings are closed, I don’t think much can be done. @sully6464 did you receive a confirmation email after you submitted your application? If you did, the confirmation email is a great indicator that your application is still current.

@Tiffaniefuston I can hear the desperation and sadness in your words. So sorry that the trip you were hoping for isn’t coming together as you wanted. I know that you are disappointed, but there are other options out there. Is staying at a Hotel that is driving distance from your home doable? Perhaps your stepson would be just as excited spending time as a family at a local Hotel? I have done stay-cations at local Hotels with my family. The kids had a blast swimming in the pool, watching on demand TV, and ordering room service. It’s something you should consider. One thing I am taking away from your story is the amazing flexibility SW had with the flight voucher extensions. I have never heard of a carrier extending that many times. Again, sorry things are not working out as you planned, but remember family time is why you wanted to plan a trip in the first place.

@Shanon_renee unless you have something that triggers your background check, you are fine. Keep in mind that start dates can be adjusted to fit business needs. That’s the gray part of Scheduling. 😀 All you can really do now is be calm, cool, and collected until you hear back with your start date. Good luck on your new career path.

@jtbedell my suggestion is to be patient and continue to check your dashboard for updates. I would not contact HR as mentioned above. Remember that the hiring process takes time and potentially hundreds of other candidates are also being looked at. Until your application status changes to “No Longer in Consideration” you still have a chance. Now is the time to show your worth. Word of advice... watch your tone on the discussion boards. Your frustration is coming across in your words. You don’t have the job yet, do you want to come across as difficult?

@flybkmh77 yes, the position needs to be posted before you can apply. I’m sure you can imagine how much interest there is in this position. Have you set up your dashboard with SW? If not, you should. My advice to you is that if you are serious about being a FA with SW, it’s not a question of if you have to check for the posting daily, it’s a “I want to” check daily. With that being said though, you can sign up to be notified workfor.us/southwest on the link below: https://flightattendants-southwest.icims.com/jobs/intro?hashed=-435768595&mobile=true&width=414&height=617&bga=true&needsRedirect=false&jan1offset=-480&jun1offset=-420 Also- For privacy reasons, you should edit your post and remove your email address. The dashboard is the best way to communicate until SW reaches out to the hopeful candidate.

@nfonseca2k I think it goes without saying that “Under Review” is better than “Closed Complete”. Also remember that this important process takes time. Listen to your peers and practice patience. That’s all you can do now. Take advantage of this time and show your hopeful employer that you can handle stressful situations and present a positive attitude at the same time.

@skydragon continue to check your dashboard for updates. Yes, 6 weeks is long for any hopeful candidate, but remember that hundreds of other applicants are in the same boat as you. Hopefully you will hear something soon, but until then focus your interest into searching what strengths and skills make those currently in the position successful.

@ohana1935 since SW receives thousands of applicants, it does take time for applications to be reviewed. I have heard from other eager applicants that it can take months before you hear something. I’m sure you can imagine the important role the recruitment team has when it comes to the interview process. That being said, your best tool for updates is your dashboard. Best wishes and good luck!

@Krista_Salvati yes, you are correct. There are certain times SW posts for FA. I believe AA, and most major carriers follow this hiring process. When the positions are available, the posting goes up. No need to be alerted when the job posts. I’m sure as an eager FA applicant, you will be checking the career site on a regular basis. Best wishes, and good luck!

@Firesmear are you able to edit your submission on the dashboard? If you can, that’s your best bet. Mistakes do happen, but it’s important not to rush during the applying stage. Important detains can be missed therefore leaving your application incomplete. Hopefully SW will be able to edit. Good luck!

@venisembrown Just remember that you learn something everytime you apply and don’t get the position. When the timing is right, you will know and that’s when you are going to soar. Don’t get discouraged, working for SW is a very competitive with thousands of applicants. In my opinion, you are already 2 steps ahead of the next round of applicants because of what learnings you have received to date. Good luck, and please continue to do your best. You will get there.

@Janene889 thank you for sharing your story and for recognizing Bobby. What Bobby displayed cannot be taught. SW made the right choice by having Bobby as a FA on their planes. It says a lot about you and your character that you were able to recognize a stranger, an employee while you were facing life changing news. Very humbling! Please send SW a DM via Twitter and tell your story again. It is one that deserves to be said again. My thoughts are with you and Kris.

Hi Amy- I have been in your position with one child crying. I cannot even imagine having two crying on a plane. I would hope that people on the plane would be sympathetic towards the situation instead of making it worse. You can reach out to SWA via Twitter and express your concern over a DM. Good luck to you and sorry to hear about your experience. In stressful situations, the last thing you need is someone who is not empathetic.

@lilajune since you have good memories around 1995, you can use those feelings towards feeling comfortable on the plane. Put your mind at ease and keep yourself busy either watching a movie or reading a book. Just remind yourself, the crew are all trained professionals who can handle any situation. You are in good hands and very safe. Have a a great trip to Houston and report back how your flight went.

@Bslotafly I had somewhat of a similar experience when I was in Cabo. I lost my passport and with the help of the American Government I was able to gain access back to the States. Unfortunately, by the time I got to the airport the last flight had already boarded. The feeling of being stuck in another country is not a great feeling. To add injury to the situation of missing your flight, you had a terrible experience with SW, and now out of pocket expenses come into play. Just as @elijahbrantley suggested, contact SW. If I was you, I would take blame for being 20 minutes late, but focus on the delivery and hospitality by the employees. The service is where the situation went from bad to worse. Remember to be kind to whoever you are speaking to at SW. The situation was not caused by that employee and all they want to do is help. My experience with SW has been the best customer service and aims to turn around any bad situation. Good luck!

@IanLund1828 I found this comment on the community: You do not need a passport when you apply. However, if you are selected from the interview phase, you must present a valid, unexpired passport book from your country of origin on the first day of Initial Flight Attendant training, or you will be released from class. Best of luck throughout the process!
