If I needed to get in touch with Southwest I'd do so via Twitter, their handle is available by clicking the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of forum pages. Make sure you don't send any flight or personal information in a public forum.

I don't like stories like this! I know this doesn't help the original poster but I'm thinking out loud for others for future reference. Costs will vary but I think there are three potential options that *may" help for scenarios when someone absolutely needs to get somewhere: Travel at least a day early in case there are delays, for weather or any other reason. This option adds the costs for food/lodging/etc. Explore third-party travel insurance providers to see what protections may be available if you are delayed or your trip is cancelled. Some credit cards come with trip delay or trip cancellation insurance so it's also worth checking with your credit card company before you pay for a stand-alone service. This option may add costs for the coverage. Explore Freebird (https://www.getfreebird.com/buy_freebird/enter_itinerary) a third party service, as they will rebook you on the first available if you are on a domestic flight in the United States. I paid for Freebird once, this past summer, and was happy I didn't need to test the service. Some airlines have agreements where they may rebook you with another airline during extreme operations but Southwest doesn't have this in place. When I used Freebird I mentally added the cost of the service to the cost of my Southwest ticket and still came out ahead versus any other airline.

The seat saving topic is recurring and generates *strong* opinions. Is it a problem? I think it depends on your definition of a problem, the size of your traveling party, ages of travelers, who you ask, and a whole host of other factors. If you're traveling alone, not picky about where you sit, and understand the boarding process then you may not notice seat saving activity or lack of such activity.

@jksobonya wrote: Points expire with 24 months of inactivity. (Which, for the record, seems impossible to achieve - it would mean you don't fly anywhere for 2 entire years or take part in any of Southwest's partner programs to earn points for 2 entire years. But, since you are posting about it, it must happen to not only you, but many others!) Jessica, I've seen folks in different threads post and mention that they've flown but their flights were booked using rewards points, which doesn't earn any points, which is the key. I'm wondering if this is the situation for the original poster. Points earning activity is what matters, not flight activity or redeption activity.

You may also want to get in touch directly vwith Southwest, the "Contact Us" link has the Southwest Twitter handle. Most of us here are other customers. Though there are moderators here I think you'll see faster response through Twitter.

I use it and typically see many other passengers doing the same.

Oh wow, it's amazing in a bad way how my tangential comments were interpreted. That specific wording was in reference to my own travel experience where weather threw our plans out the window. It makes me sad that you want to see more in Europe but haven't.

You may want to get in touch with Southwest directly (this is primarily a customer-to-customer forum). I can't find the thread now but there was a prior mention in the forums of there being a Southwest employee whose job is to coordinate with Chase. I'd start the process in writing -- the "Contact Us" link below includes both a Twitter handle and an online form to submit an email. If you use Twitter then obviously don't publicly post any personal or account information. Snail mail is also an option.

Here is the SeatGuru (third party site) link for the seat map with comments and reviews from other passengers. @bec102896 you're thinking of the right one: https://seatguru.com/airlines/Southwest_Airlines/Southwest_Airlines_Boeing_737-700_new.php @byrdbrain591 I'll also echo the thoughts that EarlyBird *probably* won't get you the worm here (seat 12A) but you never know.

Seat saving generates *strong* opinions and is a frequent discussion topic. As the forums are primarily set up as a customer to customer forum you may also want to share your feedback directly with Southwest using this link: https://www.southwestaircommunity.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/Submitting-a-Suggestion-and-or-Complaint/ta-p/87244

@billslater this is primarily a customer forum so it's open to anyone so you may want to edit your post (click the gear icon) to remove your email address. This third party linked article includes the following wording: Southwest spokesman Chris Mainz said Kaminski's post on the airline's Facebook page was removed "as we investigate and address the issue internally.'' He also further apologized for the post many considered out of line for a service employee and an invasion of the passenger's privacy. (He was not identified in the post.) "We aim to provide outstanding service to all who travel with us,'' Mainz said in a statement to USA TODAY. "The post in question does not reflect the inclusive environment we strive to provide for our customers and employees."

@bethtaylr wrote: So what if I already have a companion pass now, and I earn it again before the end of the year. Would I have more than one for the remainder of this year, then just one next year? No, you will only have one Companion Pass. @bethtaylr wrote: Also, can I book travel today with my companion pass for actual travel next year? Or does the travel have to complete this year? On the Snapshot section of your Rapid Rewards profile you should see wording that states, "Your comanion [companion name] Earned through [date]." You can book travel for your companion to travel with you through whatever date is listed on your profile.

Everyone receives their own boarding position so if you buy Early Bird for yourself but not your 8yo then you'll probably have very different boarding positions. Note that family boarding is only for children six and under.

Okay I see how to create a multi-city one-way booking: On the booking page click "Advanced Search" Select the "Multi-city" radio button Enter BUF as departure city, OAK as desination 1, and HNL as destination 2 Click "Search" Select flights Check out and pay I'm still not able to figure out how to modify and add a flight but hopefully this gets the original poster, @Alktraveler, an option to book on one reservation.

@jksobonya serious question: how do you do that on one reservation for this route, BUF-HNL? What steps would one take to make it work? The return leg would be even harder/impossible because it would require overnight travel. Here's a screen capture of what I get when I start a search on the flight schedules page:
