Did you read the above post?
Anywhere in Florida is at most about five hours from MCO and the total time to prepare and experience the flight is the same amount of time.
Southwest doesn't see people flying short distances when if you drove, you'd already be there.

That's a great story! I really don't know the rules about the door being closed, but I would imagine that if the crew opens the door for a valid reason, then the boarding is possible again.
It could be that the crew knew of the additional travelers and created a valid reason to open the door to have a discussion with the gate agent.
There ya go! Any way it works!

Here we go again. More "family boarding" issues.
It is beyond time for Southwest to change the name of this policy to end the confusion. The policy is, in reality, "Child Assist".
Case in point is this. Just because you are a family traveling together, grandma, grandpa, mom, dad and three teenagers, doesn't mean you qualify for "family boarding". Frankly, you don't.
Unless you have a child traveling under the age of seven, the policy remands dormant no matter if you are traveling as a family or not.
Change the name of the policy TODAY.

There is no guarantee or assured way to "sit together" on Southwest and this has been discussed many times. Southwest prides itself in faster boarding with unassigned seats. That means when you buy a ticket on Southwest, you make an INFORMED DECISION that you are unable to select a seat assignment.

I am encouraging people to utilize the legal system and file lawsuits against TSA. The judges are beginning to relax on the concept of "hold harmless" and is holding TSA accountable for behavior.
Gather evidence and sue in Small Claims court.

My advice is go ahead and book. As you see the price change, it often drops too. When it drops, you can take advantage of that by making a change to your flight online and you get the difference credited to your future travel credits.
I watch the pricing like the market and typically earn two or three credits before flight time.

Frankly, as a mortgage broker, you should have counseled your client on this. No one is going to "confirm future employment" as doing so is predicting the future. Southwest is not going to do that.
The best you can do is to show the money lender the offer letter.
Every lender I know is going to look for evidence that you can meet the financial obligation. If the individual is in-between sources of income, no lender is going to approve that mortgage. You should know that.
I see this as your failure, not the individual or the money lender.

There are simply too many of these stories that come to this board. I, for one, am disappointed in how Southwest handled your case. I can only imagine the frustration and anxiety such an experience would yield.
Write to the CEO of Southwest airlines. If he is going to make promises about doing better and having a better airline, let them reimburse you for all of your additional expenses. When they burn another year's income smoothing this kind of thing over with passengers, things will change.
I regret hearing your story. If I can help write a letter, let me know.

My advice here is if you find the email in spam, move it to the inbox and they reply, explaining the situation.

I never did buy the story that the new WIFI vendor couldn't track a single purchase through multiple flights and multiple devices during a 24-hour period.
Several contributors here have offered a solution that must have been apparent to the WIFI company. Simply issuing an invoice number for the purchase would have done the job. You could have restricted its use to one device at a time so that there was no sharing of numbers.
I say nonsense.

Keep in mind that your suitcase needs to meet the dimensional requirements.
But yes, if you have a third item, and that item is placed inside one of the other items, then you do not count the item that is inside another item.
I would recommend that you check your bags as it makes boarding easier for everyone. Carry on the purse only.

I really wish that the airports adopted a healthier choice. I understand that people want what people want, but eating pizza is one of the worst foods from a diet and health perspective.
There are many flavors that come alive nicely that are also healthy choices.

Unless you are wheelchair bound, you will generally exit the plane in the order of your row.

While I would agree with you, the other side of the argument is why bother posting departure and arrival times if there is not going to be accountability?
Yes, you are correct. However, one of the top measures of any airline is the number of on-time arrivals and on-time departures.

Speaking for myself, I enjoy reading all of the perspectives. I have often seen the subject line and already had a view of the situation, but when I read everyone's contribution, I find that I see it differently.
Everyone here has a different perspective. We have had a few great discussions involving whether the plane should be held to accommodate five persons, or not. Another great discussion related to someone who arrived at the airport late and missed their flight. There were lots of perspectives and that's the purpose of the board.
As long as everyone follows the rules then everything is on track. It is acceptable to debate someone's perspective as that is what makes us a great society. To disagree constructively is an ideal democracy.
