If you canceled, your bag would still go on to it's intended destination. You'd have to work with Southwest to get it back to you, possibly paying a shipping fee.

@bgubs14 wrote: The easiest thing is to call ! And sometimes they help you find the other ones Unfortunately, that's no longer true. 😞 While you used to be able to call and provide your credit card number to have a rep search for any travel funds associated with your name, you now must provide specific flight info, a confirmation number or a ticket number. From the website: Applying Travel Funds: In the event your travel plans change and you need to apply travel funds to future trips, please make note of your confirmation number. Customers calling Southwest to request a refund or to research travel funds for a specific ticket must provide their confirmation number, ticket number or flight information (date, origin and destination).

I don't think Southwest is attempting to deceive anyone, but I agree that the link is easy to overlook. I'd suggest you contact Southwest directly so that your concern can be recorded, perhaps they'll consider making it more obvious. Note: If you just recently booked a flight (within the last 24 hours) and did not add your travel funds, you can cancel for a full refund and rebook, using the travel funds this time.

Yes, you can check-in beginning at 24 hours before your scheduled departure time. If you check-in on your phone you many be eligible to use mobile boarding passes on your phone if you would like. You can always get a printed boarding pass at the airport from a check-in kiosk or from a Southwest agent at the check-in counter. Don't forget to check-in again for your return flight, 24 hours prior to that departure (assuming you are returning). Alternatively, you can purchase EarlyBird Check-In so you don't need any worry about remembering to check-in, the system will do it automatically for you. Have a great trip! --TheMiddleSeat Did this or any other comment in the thread answer your question? Great info! Yes we are willing to fly into Ft lauderdale. I will continue to watch prices. Seems like whenever we have flown Southwest the prices have been great. They still seem high right now but will keep watching! Thanks for the info have a great day!

@LindseyD wrote: I know many folks are missing this function, but have you tried searching with the interactive route map? It's a really good tool - check it out here. This is helpful, but not quite as useful as what was there before. Often I'll use it to see where the direct flights go from here or there. Including connections from some of the businer airports makes it a little difficult to use - you can go almost anywhere from MDW or DEN for example, but focusing on the direct flights gives some perspective.

I'm speculating, but there was a huge outrage nationally against overselling airplanes a few years back. At that time Southwest agreed they wouldn't intentionally oversell flights (plane change, weather, etc. may still cause this to happen occasionally). I'm sure that as a result of that change in practice there will now be more likely to have a few unoccupied seats each flight, and costs paid by everyone who does fly would need to cover the empties compared to before. Southwest also has people looking to standby that are frequent flyers, so having some spots to keep those people happy is a good thing, and they wouldn't want to give away an empty seat for cheap if it may be worth more, or if demand for that seat may show up in the form of a Business Select passenger. Actually I hadn't put a correlation together yet but the end of overselling seems to coincide at least partially with the increased benefits of same-day standby to A-listers...hmm...

I like the pretzel but also hope southwest will get a new signature snack ! For now I’m enjoying the pretzels and belvita crackers ! I'm gluten-sensitive unfortunately, so I really miss the peanuts. Hopefully a hypo-allergenic nut option, or corn-based. On the longer flights I look forward to the fritos, but generally plan to bring something onboard myself.

If you’ve done this and are already in the position I would suggest boarding as soon as you get there ! Just a couple minutes can make a difference and I’ve dodged my way through airports because I knew I was cutting it close ! Remember if you’re a-list you can board in between a and b and if you’re early bird 🦅 even if they’ve passed your number you can go up and don’t have to wait at c60 or something to board 🙂

@bgubs14 wrote: You are not wrong! I think Southwest sent us something about this in April but basically Anytime(-22%) and Business Select Fares(-35%) got easier to redeem with points while Wanna Get Aay Fares(+6%) got more expensive Here's a more in depth article about it https://thepointsguy.com/news/southwest-updates-points-value/ That increase back in April was actually just the latest devaluation -- there have been several others since Southwest moved to the Points-based Rapid Rewards system in 2011. That said, there are still occasionally WGA points fares available for lower than the 76-78 points per $1 they announced. But overall, the average is now higher than it was last year, and significantly higher than the 60 points per $1 it was when the program launched in 2011.

I wonder now ---re reading all of the responses to the original post if SWA should pretty much just ban food altogether on a flight 🙂 what is the policy IF a fellow passenger on the flight DID (without knowledge of someone with a peanut allergy on the plane) bring a peanut containing food item? Is it the normal SWA protocol to pretty much publicly announce on flights that a person has peanut allergies after everyone has boarded--- and confiscate peanut containing items from fellow passengers ? Just wondering what the current protocol is. I just got back from a vacation and SWA flight where the flight attendant asked me if I wanted her to announce that I had fragrance sensitivity so ALL of the people on the plane would be aware not to use anything highly scented while on the plane OR....maybe even NOT even sit near me. Glad I had my doctor's papers with me for the early boarding accomodations SWA is kind enough to provide with the un-reserved seating! A great plus for my health condition. I was sooo embarassed already that I told the flight attendant "no thanks" I didn't want her to announce on the plane formally as I didn't want to be singled out as the "weirdo, or that girl with the allergy" whose reactions were dependent upon what other people on the plane might do or not do....as in using synthetic chemical containing or fragrance containing products that would give me sore throat or headache...( heck I was wearing my allergy mask on the plane as my "allergy" and fragrance/chemical hypersensitivity is not something I can control and is a disease that most people do NOT understand as MCS or even Mast Cell Activation Syndrome sufferers react to lower than normal levels of substances and scented products in the ambient air thant NORMAL people ). Then I pretty much shrunk down in my seat and tried to act "normal" burying my nose in the book I brought on the plane. Thank God that flight was only 90 minutes. At least I wasn't treated rudely like that time 2 years ago when the Southwest flight attendant pretty much LAUGHED in my face and said "good luck" avoiding fragranced chemicals on the plane! That made me seriously angry and I didn't get around to writing to SWA that they need to have their flight attendants display more tact and empathy/compassion in their interactions with allergic SWA passengers/customers. I seriously do strongly EMPATHIZE with all peanut or pet allergy people....you have an allergy or can have allergic reactions and your life and health is sometimes at the mercy of people around you doing or not doing things that could affect the possibility of you getting sick on a flight and you have little control over unintentional exposures ....sometimes even if all the main precautions are taken to prevent a reaction....at times the unplanned and unforeseen happens....but that is real life.

Hi. The website informartion about the events is pretty sparse. Chase didn't do a very good job of putting it together. That being said, there appears to be a way of having you input your name, e-mail, and desired city, and presumably Chase will e-mail details to you. https://www.southwestprioritycard.com and details of what you could win are here https://www.doctorofcredit.com/chase-priority-tour-promoting-new-southwest-priority-credit-card-will-visit-10-cities-with-over-200000-in-prizes/ Hope you win something.

I tried it but the $100+ fare difference wasn’t worth it! I was flying from MDW to LGA with a connection in STL. Both flights from MDW had the same connection flight so I was wondering if I could take the late one to reduce my layover from 4 to 1 hours . I asked and it Didn’t work ! But it was fun trying

@bgubs14 wrote: I believe you can just call southwest customer service and they should be able to fix it. I don’t think you can do this online If you can't do that, remember that you can cancel any ticket within 24 hours of purchasing the ticket (be sure to ask for a refund as opposed to having the funds becomming travel funds for future use). Then you can buy the ticket again using the correct name. That assumes you didn't use travel funds to buy at least part of the fare on the new ticket.

I don’t have FaceID, but the latest version still works with your fingerprint. The short answer to the digital card is no; there isn’t one. Also, you can use your browser to save your login info (user name OR RR# and PW) so that you don’t have to type it in the app when you get logged out.
