Hi! Two other nice folks have already answered your question, so I won't. 🙂 But I will tell you, I buy things for people all the time, if they don't already have a good card they use. They pay me back, and I get the points. I paid for a friend's roof a couple of years ago! It's meant we've had Companion Pass for four years straight now. Of course, I only do it for close friends and family that i know will pay me back! Happy flying!

Hi, Sheryl. Yes, that can be frustrating. As with others on here, I have created a Word document that I update every time I make a flight, with my confirmation number, dates of travel, and the price I paid. Then if I have to cancel a flight, or if I get a cheaper price and end up with a credit, I just move that up to the top of the page and add the expiration date. Then, next time I book, I have all of my credits listed in one place, so I never lose any money. It also helps a lot if I use just part of a credit, because I cross out the former amount and add the new total of what's left. It sounds complicated, but it's not, just a few super-simple notes. I do love changing my flights with no fees, and I also love getting a refund credit if my booked flights go on sale. Keeping such a list is a small thing to do for those benefits, I think. Safe travels!

Hi, Joyce. That is frustrating -- saving eight seats is ridiculous. And many people definitely noticed the higher EB fee, for sure. For the sake of our positive community, though, I hope you will limit your anger to people trying to save multiple seats, and not single-seat folks. Many of us A-List and A-List Preferred fliers also have Companion Passes, so we save one seat for our companions. With an EB pass, you'll still almost certainly get a prime seat, because there aren't that many people saving singles. (And that jerk with the 8 seats saved is an aberration, thank goodness!) Insisting on taking a seat anyway, as Spacecoast Bill adamantly does every time he flies, really does make for an unfriendly, uncomfortable flight -- the exact opposite of what most of us SWA devotees love. Safe travels, and I wish you all the best!

@Fransoc, I agree with the poster above -- either buy one of the A1-15 advance seats at the gate, which runs $30 or $40, and that person boards early and saves one seat. Most passengers are very understanding if you're only saving one seat, especially if you've boarded in A1-15. (More may get angry if you try to save three or four.) Or, of course, both of you could pay the extra and get seats in A1-15. The system really does work well the vast majority of the time, and it gets easier as you fly SWA more often. I hope you'll give them another chance; those of us who fly them often know that these type of negative reactions from the employees are very rare. Happy traveling!

@spacecoastbill, with all due respect, your attitude is confrontational and aggressive. (I've seen you post this same thing on multiple threads, so you obviously believe strongly in your position.) While of course that's your right, the vast majority of SWA passengers are very understanding and willing to flex on seating, and that's what we like about it.

I'm also a photographer, and travel with a carry-on backpack of gear. I'm A-List, so I am generally in the first 30 or so boarding, but the Early Bird will almost certainly get you what you need. If you ever end up in the C group, that's when it's risky and your bag may be checked. But most flight attendants are understanding, and will try to find a way. They're very good about moving coats out of the bins and putting bags up, then putting the coats back on top afterward. Keep paying for Early Bird, and you'll be fine.

After listening to the air-traffic chatter from this tragic incident, its clear that the pilots handled it remarkably well, as did the flight attendants. Well-done, as usual. Sending extra-LUVing thoughts tonight to your employees and those aboard, and particularly to the family of the lost passenger.
