@MSYTraveler wrote: You speak nasty. Are you the designated travel fund advisor for SWA? The company should be transparent about all customer transaction business. While it is "your money," it's not apparent on the website in an easy to find format. One has to dig to find it, then have kept up with each confirmation from that flight in order to input the info. Feel better after your rant? Actually, Southwest listened to it's customers. All travel funds created after December 2 are available to view and use on the website - no confirmation numbers needed.

If you’re an A list then it obviously would not affect you.

Hi! Two other nice folks have already answered your question, so I won't. 🙂 But I will tell you, I buy things for people all the time, if they don't already have a good card they use. They pay me back, and I get the points. I paid for a friend's roof a couple of years ago! It's meant we've had Companion Pass for four years straight now. Of course, I only do it for close friends and family that i know will pay me back! Happy flying!

I remember getting to the airport in MSP and seeing a passenger in a wheelchair to pre-board BUT she partied like a rock star for four days. It's amazing what people will do.

@Fransoc,
Thanks for coming to the Community and posting about your experience. I think you got some really good insight and information from other Community Members about how to get your best shot at an early boarding position. We want you to enjoy traveling with us, and I hope there will be another opportunity for that in the future. It was not appropriate for our Representative to respond to your questions with sarcasm, and I'm really sorry that happened. It's reasonable that you would be left with a bad taste in your mouth, but I can assure you we appreciate your business and the expectation we have for ourselves is that we are serving our Customers with friendliness and warmth.
I'm closing the comments on this thread as the conversation has started to veer a little off course.

I'm also a photographer, and travel with a carry-on backpack of gear. I'm A-List, so I am generally in the first 30 or so boarding, but the Early Bird will almost certainly get you what you need. If you ever end up in the C group, that's when it's risky and your bag may be checked. But most flight attendants are understanding, and will try to find a way. They're very good about moving coats out of the bins and putting bags up, then putting the coats back on top afterward. Keep paying for Early Bird, and you'll be fine.

I have been a loyal Southwest customer for many years. But last year, I was on three Southwest flights which all had mechanical problems, one of which required an emergency landing. In 2016 another Southwest engine disintegrated in mid flight causing decompression but no injuries. Now 1380 ushers in Southwest's first passenger fatality due to aircraft failure. Is there a maintenence issue at SWA? Yes there is. I applaud SWA for this forum and hope they fix the systemic culture of profits before safety which a number of SWA mechanics have been outspoken about. As loyal Southwest customers, let's remind Southwest that the safety of their aircraft should be their biggest and most urgent priority--not shareholders or profits. To do otherwise means there will be none of the above.
