@Taylorm197 my understanding is that most training for SW is paid (not including Flight Attendants). I’m almost certain that the training takes place in Dallas. Did you see the position you are interested in posted on the career site? I would think that the posting would mention training? @TheJules2019 for your safety and those around you, when seated at a bulkhead all carryons must be stored in a overhead bin during take offs and landings. However, during the flight, you can grab your bag from the overhead, and leave at your feet, etc.

@James94525 Becoming a flight attendant is harder than you think and one that thousands aim for. If you read other threads on the community, many have applied several times and are still trying to land a position. @msdiva1159 it sounds like you have done everything correctly including signing up to be notified when jobs post. My recommendation is to practice patience, and remember that when the business needs justify adding a new position, the role will post. Good luck on finding your dream job with SWA.

@Fionnah the good news is if you were no longer being considered, your dashboard would read “closed/complete”. With that being said, I’m sure there is a lot of interest and the recruiters are still reviewing applications. Remember to practice patience, and hopefully you will hear something shortly. Good luck!

@KimVanderKley Is this the role you are inquiring about? It’s posted on the SW career site with everything a potential applicant needs to review. Even my grandparents ( who are very special to me) have an easier time boarding SW because of the open seating. When my grandmother isn’t looking for 10C, and isn’t holding up the aisle, the mood is calmer. Instead of searching for 10C, she is grabbing the first 2 seats she finds, quickly sits down, and buckles her seatbelt. It’s a win for my grandparents, other passengers, and SW. Just another way to look at it. HaHa

Have you ever flown into LAX or LGA? You would be happy waiting only 30 minutes for your bags. Now when I fly, all my belongings either have to fit in my carry-on, or they are being left behind. Try simplifying when you fly. It will change your entire experience.

@DSteven I can relate to your frustrations. All of us who fly with SW are feeling it too. I would say that you are one of the lucky ones since you received the notification far in advance. I pulled this information off of SW’s Contract of Carriage: Flight Schedule Changes. Flight schedules are subject to change without notice, and the times shown on Carrier’s published schedules, Tickets, and advertising are not guaranteed. At times, without prior notice to Passengers, Carrier may need to substitute other aircraft and may change, add, or omit intermediate stops. Carrier cannot guarantee that Passengers will make connections to other flights by the Carrier or by other airlines. In the event of flight schedule changes or service withdrawals, Carrier will attempt to notify affected Passengers as early as possible. https://www.southwest.com/assets/pdfs/corporate-commitments/contract-of-carriage.pdf I know that SW is doing all they can to work out all the changes. Personally, I would rather be inconvenienced if my safety was possibly at risk. Have a a great trip in June!

@karolyn1975 relocation is the price you pay as a new flight attendant. I’m pretty sure that relocating is mentioned a few times during the initial application submission. My suggestion to you is, if staying in your area is priority then FA is probably not going to work out. Are there other roles you are interested in?

@Jataurra honestly with the number of candidates, I would say that no news is good news. Worse case scenario is if you do receive a message “closed & complete”, you reapply in a year. I have good feelings about your current status. Just keep up the positive attitude and remember why you applied for the position. It’s all about caring for people and providing service.

@Jataurra I encourage you to reapply when you can. You have a great attitude, and your positivity is what SWA looks for in an employee. In the mean time, ask others to do mock interviews with you to get you in the interviewing mind set. Refresh your resume on a regular basis, and research the position you are interested in. I promise if you do all those things, you will be more than ready to rock. Again, best luck to you!

@LoveSpring the application process is very long, and as you can imagine there are tons of applicants to review. I think you are doing a great job at checking in with the community, keeping up to date on what other candidates are posting, and showing signs of positivity. Remember not to get discouraged, and keep up the great attitude. Good luck to you!

@Jataurra the hard part is trying to stay positive and not listen to others. Each individual interview is different. Since each interview is different, the time will come for you to leave a positive and memorable impression with the recruiters. Don’t get discouraged. Another thing to keep in mind is don’t over think the process...that will drive you and only you crazy and potentially impact your interview. I can tell you are passionate, so stay positive. Interviews are not meant to be personal, but an opportunity for the recruiters to get to know you. Tell SWA your story, and if you don’t get the job this time, there is always next time. Even recruiters have been in your situation before. Please check back here and let us know how you are doing through the long process. Best wishes!
