@jodie13 I found this verbiage on SWA’s career site. I don’t think there’s anything you can do at this point. “Unfortunately, once an application is submitted, we’re unable to make changes. Continue to check careers.southwestair.com for the next posting and/or sign up for a job alert on any job description page.” Click here to be linked to SWA’s FAQ site: https://careers.southwestair.com/faq

@Jataurra how many roles have you applied for with SWA? What is your career path? Are you qualified for what you are applying for? My suggestion is to be patient and continue checking your dashboard. No news is good news. Good luck!

@vbkelly56I always have good luck reaching out to SW on Twitter. The longest I have had to wait for a response back has been minutes. Give that a try... hopefully the outcome will be positive for you.

@Jataurra once your application has been reviewed, the dashboard will update to “under review “. Now is the time to practice patience. Keep in mind SWA recruiters have thousands of applications to look at. Good luck!

@seetee14 I would imagine that if you left SWA on a positive note, and have gained useful leadership tools that would benefit employees and passengers, then yes. How long have you been in your current supervisor position? Why do you want to come back to SWA? Those are a few questions you should be asking yourself.

@DevanM25 all you can do at this point is practice patience and remain positive. Your last interaction with SWA wasn’t even a week ago. If your dashboard says “under review”, you still have a chance. One rule of advice when applying for a new opportunity... do not question if you should continue the interview process or stay with your current employer. Not sure what your intent was, but it can come across as you are really not that interested. Good luck!

@67jennifer the interview sounds like it was a great experience... and the warm and fuzzy feeling is a bonus for you. The experience must have felt right. The added bonus that your recruiter brought up their relationship with Herb during your interview is a memory in it self. Good luck and check back in to update us on your hopeful career path.

@jasminalanis3 unfortunately, according to SWA’s Campus Reach page, they have closed the application process. “Our 2019 Summer Internship application window is now closed, please check back next March for 2020 opportunities!” Click on on the link for more info. @hilotraveler SWA is very accommodating to all of their passengers... disabled or not. I found this information on their site regarding boarding via the stairs: In most locations, a mechanical lift is available to assist Customers with disabilities who are unable or have difficulty climbing stairs. However, on some occasions, due to weather, lift availability in international locations, or other conditions that may exist, Customers may be assisted via a chair carried up the stairs by trained ground personnel. All of this occurs during pre-boarding, so I wouldn’t worry about finding a seat. https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/unique-travel-needs/customers-with-disabilities-pol.html?clk=GFOOTER-CUSTOMER-ASSISTANCE

@tri650ive been stranded in Mexico before. Not cool at all and beyond frustrating. Have you talked to anyone at the airport who work SWA? I have found that face time in situations like this go further than a phone call or email. Good luck on getting home.

@dhaigh sorry to hear that your wife is going through this battle. She is lucky to have you on her side. SWA is great with handling sensative circumstances such as yours... and to be honest, your wife’s circumstances are the reason they offer pre-boarding. Please let other passengers unnecessary opinions roll off of you. Their opinions don’t really matter anyways. What does matter is that you and your wife at least deserve this one tiny benefit. Happy Travels!

Why would SWA gamble with the investment of the planes, lives of passengers/crew, and bad media coverage if they were not confident that the planes were safe? I trust SWA and their expertise.

@JWG0671 since SWA is an equal opportunity employer, you will never directly get your questions answered by them. That means it’s really up to you if you want to be a FA. With that being said, a few things I would think about if I was you: - My age will benefit me while training since seniority goes by age - Will I feel comfortable while working if I hit my head several times on the overhead bins? -How many passenger arms/legs that sneak into the aisle will I hit during Beverage Service? if you want to start out being one of the most senior in seniority during training, and can live with the frustrations you will definitely face daily, go for it! Good luck to you!

@Quelito15 I think many of us have been in your position before. It’s not fun to add frustration on top of an already stressful situation. One tip I always try to remind myself is that SWA employees are human and the situation that is unraveling is not intentional. You can contact SWA on Twitter and send a DM voicing your concerns if you would like. The most you will probably get is an apology, but at least your compliant was heard.

My point was not to bash the company you are looking to be hired into. If you truly feel as if you were not given a fair opportunity, go about it the right way and research who to contact next. Dont post on a discussion board about the recruiter. If you really are someone who believes SWA is a great Company, you need to trust that the right thing will be done. I do applaud you for being honest and saying that you were confused to the recruiter. That takes strength and courage. Good of luck to you, and I hope the outcome is positive for you.
