@FutureFA what is the status of your application on the dashboard? Unless the dashboard says “no longer in consideration”, you are still in a good spot. I’m sure you are aware that there are thousands of eager applicants who also want to be a FA. It takes time (months) to go through everyone’s application to find the perfect fit. Now is a good time to practice patience and continue to educate yourself on what it takes to be an FA with SWA. Good luck, and I hope you do hear something soon.

@DD2 I know it’s hard, but you need to practice patience. Until your dashboard shows that you are “no longer in consideration”, I think you are in a good spot. Good luck on your hopeful career path with SW.

@Beachflier1 I had some time to kill at the airport last night and played around with the surveys. After I got the same messages as you, I gave up and laughed it off. Minutes later I received an email that I earned 500 miles for my participation, and will be posted to my account within in 2-6 weeks. So time will tell... I will keep you posted.

@Smivy I have been in your shoes before. Not only do you feel victimized, but violated. Sorry you are having to go through this. You did all the right thing by talking to the Police and filing a report. I personally would not have called 911, but I understand the sense of urgency you needed. I do have a question on why you think SWA should get involved? What is your Company’s policy on stolen equipment? My Company would want the Police report, end of story. Again, sorry this happened, and I hope it does get returned.

@PHiner have you checked your dashboard for updated information? I have seen many posts by @KelbyTansey stating that due to the large number of applicants, the process takes time. I know the waiting game is hard, but if this is truly your career path, patience will pay off. Good luck!

@melanie16 below is what is found on the TSA’s website or you can visit them at https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/identification It sounds like there are other ways they can look up your identity if you have any issues supplying what’s called out from TSA. Adult passengers 18 and over must show valid identification at the airport checkpoint in order to travel. Driver's licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent) U.S. passport U.S. passport card DHS trusted traveler cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST) U.S. Department of Defense ID, including IDs issued to dependents Permanent resident card Border crossing card DHS-designated enhanced driver's license Federally recognized, tribal-issued photo ID HSPD-12 PIV card Foreign government-issued passport Canadian provincial driver's license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada card Transportation worker identification credential U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Employment Authorization Card (I-766) U.S. Merchant Mariner Credential Good luck!

@melishacordoba keep in mind that there are thousands of very talented candidates SWA is currently reviewing. Have you checked your dashboard? I know it’s hard, but patience is very important during this process. In fact...you will need to practice patience on a regular basis as a flight attendant. Perhaps you might be able to use patience as a strength you have during an interview? 😀 Good luck to you!

@SoothSayer Just like what @bec102896 said, there can be many factors that lead to delays. I’m just curious as why you feel like you are being lied to? SW doesn’t want flight delays just like you don’t. Delays throw off the planes schedule and create customer complaints. If the the real issue is about the gate agents compassion or customer service, I encourage you to reach out to SW via Twitter. I would only mention the facts about your experience and be reasonable. Hope the rest of your day goes better.

@Dale68 I am 99% sure that the transfer chair will be placed in the belly of the plane after it’s needed. Yes, special sized transfer chairs are used on the plane because of the aisle size. Make sure you connect with the agent at the gate to confirm and to tag the chair with your information. Once you land at your destination, the ground crew will bring the transfer chair back to you. Be patient as sometimes it does take time for the ground crew to recover the chair for deplaning. Fingers crossed for a seamless experience.

@Bondseye007 when I travel from LAX to see my family in Knoxville, we always fly into Nashville. The drive isn’t that bad and takes no more than 3 hours. I agree that SWA would be a perfect fit at TYS because everyone is super friendly, warm, and display “Southern” Hospitality. Unfortunately, the passenger traffic is low. East Tennessee Is beautiful and I hope tourism continues to grow.

@Amsta0622 I have also felt uneasy about not sitting with my children on a flight. I luckily have always lucked out and avoided that situation. As @elijahbrantley said, Early Bird is an option, but if you are diligent with checking in for your flight 24 hours ahead of time, your chances of sitting together are higher. On a side note, I have been on flights where parents have been separated from their kids. Many times strangers who notice this situation will volunteer to change their seats so that they can sit together. It’s great to know that there are definitely good people out there! Have a great flight!

@Jhocasta you are already off to a good start since you are traveling with friends. Surrounding yourself with people you know is a great distraction for all. My advice is to keep busy during the flight. Either read a book, grab your laptop and work on a project, stream movies, or engage in conversation. If you start to feel more comfortable during flight, try to take a nap. That makes time go by very quickly. Just remember to remain calm and think about how you are safer in a plane than you are in a car. The flight crew are highly trained experts who know how to keep you safe. It also doesn’t hurt to let the crew know once you board the plane about your first flight. That way the crew can check in on you throughout the flight and make sure you are doing okay. You got this! Good luck.

@Angrycustomer88 wow!!! What an experience. I understand the agent taking the stance that you had to wait in the terminal, but the aggressive behavior sounds extreme. If the agent physically touched your “person” you should have let her call Security and the Police. This behavior does not sound like SWA though. Glad to hear that you got your item back, but if I was you I would reach out to Customer Relations through a DM via Twitter.

@SHAWMIX7 I agree with what both @CareforNOLA and @bec102896 both said, but @CareforNOLA is totally right. Showing the personal and human side of any situation generally goes farther in my opinion. Telling your story and what you went through paints a more colorful picture than just a complaint like the thousands they receive every day. Good luck!

@Kelly1carlson I agree that leaving a child in that type of situation is neglectful and wrong. I don’t understand how some parents can ignore the obvious, but maybe there was a reason? As a fellow passenger, I would have felt disrespected and frustrated too (sounds like the worst flight ever), but who is to blame here? I do not agree that the crew should have gotten involved. The crew has enough on their plate, and now they are to give out parenting advice? I can just see someone filming the interaction with the parents on their phone. Next thing you know it’s all over the social media and local news that SWA does not LUV children. Do we know the reason why the parents didn’t change the diaper? Was there turbulence? Were they told to stay seated with their seatbelts on for their safety? Did they run out of diapers and not sure what to do next? I bet the experience was horrible for them too. It is unfortunate that you had to experience this situation in a confined space with recycled air, but I’m my opinion, it’s not SWA’s fault. If I would have been you, I would have walked off that flight dancing with joy since you were not living that nightmare. I hope you had a great time with your grandchildren, and get to see them again soon.

@Milloray have you tried contacting SWA through the Lost & Found link below? https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/airport-experience/index-pol.html I completely understand your frustration, and myself have been there too. @cindt1226 I think what you are asking is if your mother can board in Dallas instead of Houston with you? If that’s the case, you need to contact SWA and have the reservation changed. She can’t just show up and expect to board on the next flight to Denver while in Dallas. Click on the link below for more information.
