TheMiddleSeat. I'm trying to figure the logic in your statement. To qualify for A-List and A-List Preferred, one must earn tier points. Tier points can only be earned by mainly flying or getting awarded 1500 tier points for every $10,000.00 credit card use. But only up to $100,000.00. So 15,000 tier points would be the maximum one could receive in a year. Even then, for A-list. One would need to earn another 20,000 tier points by flying. And 55,000 for A-List Preferred. Companion Pass does not require tier points. Making it much easier to earn without flying. So only A-List and A-List Preferred get to have someone board with them at the same time. Not someone who just holds a Companion Pass. So why not offer same time boarding for Companion Pass/ A-List or A-List Preferred members??? At the very least, let me pay the same amount as Early Bird Check-In to have my companion board at the same time.

Meljohn I'm willing to wait until I get both sides of the allegations and hopefully the full truth. I'd rather make my choices based on all the facts, rather than just one article that seems to only present one side of the story mainly. You are free to pass any judgement you think is appropriate. But I also admit the article doesn't put Southwest in a very good light. That's why I decided to post in the first place. As a Southwest member, it concerns me greatly.

MelJohn As someone who has been a A-List Perferred/Companion Pass member for a number of years now. I have always taken pride in Southwest Airlines and fly with them whenever possible. But after reading this article, it has now changed my view on Southwest Airlines. What's very troubling is, that this incident happened in 2017 and now it's 2019. And these two pilots are still flying for Southwest. While I do realize that these pilots have not been charged or found guilty in a court of law. One has to have some major concerns if the article is correct and the flight attendant did take a picture of the streaming I-Pad. Then getting the nervous reaction and explanation of the co-pilot. At the very least Southwest should have been taken as a very serious situation. It gives one the appearance that Southwest has worked harder to conceal or sweep this under the rug, rather than doing the right thing. I'm not sure I can continue to use Southwest Airlines in the future. But will wait for Southwest's side of this story.

I think most A-List and A-List Preferred members would be pleasently rewarded and see a major change in the amount of pre-boarders. If Southwest would just require that pre-boarders will gladly be seated on the plane first. But will have to wait until all others have gotten off before they are allowed to leave. That's easy enough. Now let's move on to the subject of more than one bag in the overhead compartment!!!

For the better part of the last five plus years. My wife and I have enjoyed Southwest's nonstop daily flights to and from Louisville, KY/Phoenix, AZ. Now all of a sudden we find out that in 2019 Southwest will no longer offer nonstop service between the two cities. They will now only offer weekly nonstop service. I find it hard to understand that the change is due to a lack of passengers. Most of all the flights we have flown seemed to be totally full or very close to it. So now instead of driving a little less than an hour to Louisville. We will have to drive a little over two hours to Indianapolis if we want a daily nonstop flight to Phoenix or back. At the very least, I would just like to know why Southwest chose to make the change.

I have had Copmanion Pass now for over four years. I achieved this by making Southwest my main choice of airlines to fly. When booking my companion, I always get the Early Bird Checkin. But recently I tried to upgrade the 24 hour Early Bird Checkin to the 36 hour Early Bird Checkin upgrade, but was told it's not available for Companion Pass. It seems Southwest doesn't mind taking my $15 for the 24 hour checkin but I'm not good enough to get the 36 upgrade. What gives Southwest??? It just seems like a slap in the face after trying to make Southwest my main airline choice.
