I pay extra to get business select boarding and I tell my self I might as well go for the holy grail of seats (12A). I end up A02 boarding position and am pretty confident that no preboarders would get it and the number one person surely would want a bulkhead. I'm stroling confidently up to the isle only to find this skinny but dapper gentleman with a scarf doing the same, not interested in a bulkhead. I'm figuring he'll go left to the extit row or the back. Son of a gun. He starts a conversation with the flight attendent and slips right into 12A. I don't feel left out. The 12F seat I got was pretty roomy. Maybe next time.

Are there people not following the rules? Does the person to your left take both armrests? Does someone hog the overhead with a lot of bags? Does anyone sneak smelly food onto the aircraft? Does someone talk loudly on the cell? Let's go over some incidents.

I purchased one of those hooks that enable you to attach a tablet to the closed seat tray in front of you like those monitors for the inflight entertainment that are on back seats of other airlines. Would Southwest have a problem with that? Has anyone done this or seen it done?

I mean, why is this a popular seat? There is no seat directly in front of you and the nearest seat is 2 rows away. There is no tray table to rest a drink or a laptop or tablet on and if I'm not mistaken, the seat rest is not the same size as those in other seats. Besides leg room, what is the advantage of sitting here?

Is this a comfortable seat? Its in the exit row and next to the door. Its part of a pair so no middle seat. I guess if you are taveling alone you should not sit there and leave it to couples.

Does anyone clip their tablets to the back of the tray table and watch entertainment like a monitor? What about their cell phones? Do you use your neighbor's traytable for your laptop? Do you take off your sneakers and shoes and wear slip ons like you're in a hotel? Are there any other things that patrons do to make themselves comfortable while on SW planes?

What's it like sitting in the front row bulkhead seats? I have never gotten lucky enough to get an early enough number to sit there? Is it a smoother take off in the front of the plane? Better seats?

I'm flying to Wash DC in late November on SW. Is it more chances that flights will be cancelled in that month given weather conditions? Is the plane colder in such months than in summer? Should I do anything different than in the summer months aboard a plane?
