Hello everybody! As the title states, I can put in my ADAP test Sunday morning and I'm not sure what to do next. I have no flying experience or licenses so I wonder what I need to do now. What is the wait time on the test results?

Hello everyone! I know I've posted on here a few times and something interesting happened. I've applied for the ramp agent position in Midland Texas only twice or three times ( I live in El Paso, TX so I'd have to transfer somewhere for six months in order to work for Southwest in El Paso). Of those two or three times, I was not selected for an interview or anything.
Then, something happened Tuesday afternoon. I received an e-mail from Southwest asking me to do a video assessment for a ramp agent position I was no longer considered for. That caught my attention because I never had any type of interview with the Midland crew so I was very excited. I've applied at airports like Denver and Austin and have had virtual or phone interviews with them but with Midland, nothing.
Any emails I received from the Southwest crew at MAF specifically said that they appreciated my interest in applying but they weren't going to move forward with my application at the time.
This particular e-mail I received on Tuesday said I was selected to move forward in the hiring process and they wanted me to do one of their six question video assessments. I did it yesterday and I would like to know how long I have to wait until I hear back. I'm very excited!

Hello everyone! I completed a six segment video assessment for a ramp agent a few nights ago. The deadline is today. How long do I have to wait until I hear a response?

Hello everyone! I'm writing this discussion today because I received an e-mail earlier this afternoon regarding a 15 minute interview about Southwest's company and career openings. Another email I received was from their Referrals Community stating that someone from Southwest thinks I'd be a great fit for the company. I have had someone from Southwest refer me two or three times in the past but she didn't refer me this time when I asked her, which is what caught my eye. I scheduled the interview and another e-mail that was sent afterwards stated a recruiter was going to contact me in a few days. On top of that, someone from Southwest's Talent Community sent me a text from a Dallas area code (214) to chat about careers with the company. Normally I receive e-mails from Southwest Career Connections about webinars but this is a whole different world for me because it seems like a recruiter is trying to get a hold of me personally through e-mails and even through texts to chat. Has any of this happened to anybody else? Any feedback would be great! Thank you!

Thank you so much! Yes, patience is definitely key when applying at Southwest for sure. I'll never forget when I applied for the same position this January, I received an e-mail within two days from Caitlin Holliday to schedule a virtual interview. That was the first time that I'd had such an immediate response from them and the first time I ever interviewed with Southwest. My recruiter was nice enough to keep my resume for a year.
Yes you're so right about people waiting months for a response as well, that's how picky Southwest is. Thank you so much for your feedback!

I was wondering about the application process for a part time ramp agent here in El Paso, TX (ELP). I applied on August 10, 2022 and my status is still at "In Process" with the job posting no longer being on the Careers site for a few weeks now. Is this a good sign or did they hire someone by now?

Hi there Penna! Thank you so much for your response, it helps. I'm still at "In Process" for about close to a week now with the ramp agent being taken off the Careers site so I find that as a good sign.

Hello everyone!
I post on here every now and then and I was wondering how the hiring process is with Workday. Is it still pretty much the same thing or different? I applied for a ramp agent again in ELP and had a virtual interview this January but wasn't selected.

That's so odd because I never received an e-mail regarding proof about my recruiter who interviewed me. The only e-mails I received were from Caitlin Holliday, with whom I had her e-mail.

Hi guys!
I applied for the part-time ramp agent position here in El Paso at the end of last December. I was sent an e-mail about a week later to fill out a virtual form prior ro a virtual interview. I just had my virtual interview on January 18th and the recruiter told me to look out for a 615 number for the next steps in the process and that there were two other interviews after mine. However, when I checked my Dashboard today, it went from Under Review since the 19th to Closed Complete today. I haven't received any calls or e-mails. Does that simply mean I didn't get the job or do I actually have to keep waiting for a call or something? I know it's a waiting game but I don't know what to expect.

Hi everyone! I applied for a Freight Agent position here in El Paso, TX (ELP) a week ago. Today I received an e-mail from Southwest Airlines People Department thanking me for my interest in the position, as well as the position being closed so the company is going to start reviewing them. They also emphasized the importance of showing your COVID-19 vaccination documentation of vaccination status. Is this e-mail sent to every Southwest Airlines applicant or to the applicants whose applications will be viewed by Southwest because I can almost guarantee that from the past positions I applied these past few years, I never received that e-mail minus the COVID-19 part of course. The e-mails would state that they weren't going to move forward with my application and my Dashboard would go from Received Submission to Closed Complete. Anything helps. Thank you! P.S. My Dashboard still shows my application on Received Submission.

Hi guys! Some of you might remember me when I applied for an operations agent position in my hometown of El Paso, TX a little over a year ago. I just applied for a station administrator position here at ELP a few nights ago and now the job posting is either expired or closed (fortunately I applied). Does that mean someone got hired or they're looking at the applications?

UPDATE: After waiting a month, I received an e-mail just a few minutes ago. Here's a piece of it: "After careful consideration of all information we are unable to move forward with any additional candidates at this time. Due to the high response of candidates, we were able to fill the positions needed. Unfortunately, this was prior to reviewing your information." All I can say is I gave it a shot and I won't give up. Thank you all for your help and support. Ryan

Hi all! I'd like to give a quick update on my application/hiring process so far. It still says "Received Submission" but I know it'll be like that for a while but I did notice tonight after midnight (July 28th) that I think someone from Southwest actually removed an application I put in for a part time ramp agent here in El Paso in 2015. At that time, I forgot to put the name to Southwest Airlines instead of changing it from GAT on the resume but I'm glad that only my current submission for the operations agent is now the only one listed. I still have a good feeling about getting interviewed though. Be safe everyone! Ryan Montes

Thank you! When I went to Dallas for spring break with my parents in March, I happened to see the DART Rail and the sign for it near Dealey Plaza (site of JFK's assassination) on Elm Street. Wow, having the station near TOPS will help me then if I want to go explore Dallas or go to an event or even a game depending on the season. I sure will keep in touch with you more since you're going to Dallas soon :).

Hi rtbarron, I apologize for getting back to you a few days late, I didn't even know you replied. I guess I'd have to look up Phoenix and Dallas area codes then. It's good to know that they leavea detailed message if you aren't able to answer right away. With the two week training, what hotels does Southwest have you stay at and what would be your source of transportation to/from the training, to a restaurant, and around Dallas on your free time? I apologize for all the questions, I just want to be prepared and ahead of the game in case I do get the job

Oh ok so they made it more modern when it came to clothing. I think you can wear whatever color polo shirt as well. Hahahaha, Chico's Tacos?! I've only had Chico's ONCE or TWICE. It's funny how people automatically think of Chico's when they think of El Paso lol!!!

Hi rtbarron, Thank you so much for your feedback! As crazy as this may sound to some people, I've never had an actual job yet so to speak because of school, but since I have a VERY light schedule this fall (2 face-to-face classes Mondays-Wednesday's and 1 online class), I figured it would be a perfect time to apply. I originally wanted to be a ramp agent but when they had an opening here a few weeks ago, the job had already expired but if Southwest can let you do double jobs, that would be awesome hahaha. With the application process, that helps a lot, knowing it can be quick or about a month depending where you live. I do hope that my application/resume is good because I graduated high school with honors and I'm involved with different clubs right now at El Paso Community College (EPCC). Attire wise, that sounds great. I like both khakis/polos or long sleeve/long pants but as long as my strong, communication skills are able to help customers is what matters to me and the company. Now I wonder how long the training takes. - Ryan Montes

Hi everyone! My name is Ryan Montes and I am a 22 year old, college student. I just made an account here to be a part of this community in case I have questions, comments, concerns, or compliments. Friday night/early Saturday morning, I applied for a part-time Operations Agent job here in my hometown of El Paso, TX (KELP). This was a job where I applied as soon as I saw it because when an airline like Southwest or any major airline has job openings here, they're gone within the blink of an eye sometimes. I just have a couple of questions regarding the application process and the dress code for them. The status is currently at "Received Submission" and I was wondering how long it will take before the status changes. With the dress code, what do the Ops Agents wear in case I get the job? Long sleeve shirts, Southwest t-shirts, or something else? If anyone can help me with these two things, or even add anything else about the job, that'd be wonderful! - Ryan Montes
