I'd understand cause for being upset if they removed you. Heck, it doesn't even seem like they are were being harsh with you. For whatever reason, they believed that you might have been intoxicated, and they seem to have attempted to assert if that was true while they were still on the ground where it wouldn't have been too much of an issue. Just let it go. You weren't publicly humiliated, and it doesn't appear to have been a major event. Do you want SWA to compensate you in someway? Is that the point?

The policy is that you can remove your mask briefly to eat. That is said repeatedly at boarding and on board. Last week, I heard an announcement that the new policy was that you must replace your mask between bites. I'd sure like to see that be true.

No need for a larger person to buy an extra seat. Southwest will provide and extra seat for free under the "customer of size" policy. It is quite easy.

My wife had a cat that she credits with getting her through her PhD. In today's language, he was definitely her ESA. She flew across the country with him more than the cat would have preferred. We just paid the $75 fee that Northwest charged at the time.

Also, consider the fairness issue. If they give people refunds to people who bought Wanna Get Away fares, that makes chumps of people who bought other refundable fares. If you enter into a contract, it is unreasonable to expect special treatment different than the terms of that contract.

If the original form of purchase was travel funds, what is the expiry date of the travel funds after flight cancellation? I can easily see the creation of travel funds that are essentially unusable.

Flying in to something that is non-changeable and non-refundable a few hours before it is risky. All types of things can impact and delay flights including weather and mechanical issues. If it is important, I would fly in the day before.

I mostly see people getting on the plane with their nose uncovered. A couple of weeks ago, the person in the window seat "next" to my aisle seat had his nose uncovered. Last Monday morning in OKC, the flight attendant said something to someone as they got on the plane about covering their nose. That's the only time that I've seen that. Thursday night at Hobby someone got on the plane without a mask (not sure why the gate agent allowed that), The flight attendants gave him a mask. I'd estimate that I've seen about 10% of flight attendants with their mask below their nose. Before boarding, in the airport is much, much worse. Lots and lots and lots of noses. I said something to someone a couple of months ago, and it didn't end well. So, I keep my mouth shut because I don't want a video involving me to go viral. The other day, my 8 year old daughter was standing in line with my wife to check in to a hotel (no power due to an ice storm), and the person behind them wasn't wearing a mask. She looked at him and pointed to her nose, shaming him into covering it. My little girl is awesome. I'm far from innocent...it turns out that my favorite hobby is apparently scratching my nose in public. I hate having to treat everyone like they have cooties.

I've done at least 30 flights since May, and I've seen way too many noses. I want to say it is okay because anyone who doesn't realize that their nose is connected to their respiratory system is probably a mouth breather, but I'm not sure that gives me comfort.

I appreciate what our military does. However, I'm sure that I'm not alone in wishing military members would feel less entitled. Yes, it is a hard and a dangerous job for some. However, the US military is all volunteer. If Southwest chooses to give special boarding privileges to military members, that is great. But, if they don't, well, I don't see that as a reason to be upset.

The policy has always been that to get on an earlier flight, you need to pay the fare difference between what you paid and what the current lowest fare is for the new flight. A few minutes before the flight left, the cheapest fare was $399 more than what you paid. That's pretty much the same policy of any airline. Heck, some may even charge a change fee as well. So, they weren't gouging you. They were just offering your a ticket for the current available price. If you have A-List or above, you could have gotten on the flight for free if there was space available. Southwest gives relatively few benefits to its frequent fliers. This is one of them. And, again, elite ff members flying same day standby for free for earlier flights is also pretty standard across airlines.

The lady who called told me that accepting the change didn't impact my ability to still make a no cost change based upon the schedule. I have gotten like 5 emails in the past two days about schedule, and this is the only one where they called. The difference was that this went from a one-stop flight to a nonstop which made me happy, of course. No offer of a refund, but I don't want one anyhow. This flight leaves slightly later than the original and arrives much earlier.

If a paper mask is going to crash your husbands oxygen levels to an unacceptable manner, then perhaps he is too vulnerable to be flying right now. In any event, if you can't wear a mask, Southwest (and most other airlines) do not feel that they can safely accommodate you right now.

Yesterday, I was A-20, and more than five people lined up...but only five boarded. Honestly though, I've never seen them tell someone that they were out of sequence when they went to board so I'm not sure that they have ever checked this. Lining up by number would require interaction. People are not, um, astute enough to simply pay attention if the were to were to add some sort of numbering to the dots...unless the numbers changed, people would have to do math.

Given the nightmare that Apple Leisure Group clearly is, why does Southwest continue to let them use their name and continue to promote them? I know that the answer is money, but is it worth the ill will? Let alone the ethics of being partners with a company like this.

I still hate that they extended status. Rather, they should have given a break on getting status for the year to reflect the reduced opportunities to fly. Next year, everyone with status from last year plus everyone who earned status this year will have status. More bloat. I first had elite status on Northwest back in 2000. I got silver, and I was upgraded to first class my first flight. I made platinum (the highest back then), and I maintained it for five years. During those five years, I only missed an upgrade once. Now, on carriers with first class, even the highest status seems to get upgraded less than 50% of the time. It is hard to tell how many people have A-List or higher with Southwest since with no upgrades, there isn't as clear of a distinction. Still, I'm sure that it is a lot. What has changed in the past 20 years that has made for so much bloat?

For gosh sake, the original poster stated that she would be buying two seats, one for her and one for her husband, and that the child would be placed in the empty middle seat between them. For the life of me, I cannot imagine that anyone say anything about that or care. If it is an issue, hold the child until after takeoff and then place him/her in the seat after that.
