As a avid Southwest flyer and supporter as an A-List Preferred member I want to thank you for bringing back the IND-MDW service! I live in NW Indiana. And sometimes prefer to fly out of Indy or out of Chicago. Connections were horrible out of Indy most of the time I wanted to fly west. I'm sure this will vastly improve with these changes! Thank you so much!!!
Also could you comment on how the DSM (Des Moines, IA) market is doing? I know it's maintaining 2 flights a day but the airport is expanding gates and two southwest gates have been rumored in the local news in past months. Is service set to expand here or at least maintain? Thanks!

Locavore is an awesome app! It gets better by the month as users continue to add more and more from around the country. Right now it's really just major metropolitan areas; but it's getting better. Thanks SWA for the suggestions!

Verity, Gabe, and Nicole are amazing! A shoutout expecially to Verity who answers my questions and concerns almost immediately everytime! I could tell at least 10 stories about her alone helping me out in the past year! I'm A-List Preferred, have a Companion Pass, and fly on SWA a lot! Obviously I LUV SWA and Verity and the Social Media team are one more reason I LUV you guys!! Keep up the awesome work and thanks for having a team like them to respond! Too many companies don't; and it's sad in today's online reality. Thanks for keeping up with the times SWA!!!

My wife and I travel to and from Northwest Indiana via Ohare to Des Moines currently on another carrier to visit her family often. I can't wait for the Southwest service to start to Des Moines, Ia!! I fly SWA every week for work; and can't wait to see the service begin into DSM!!
Do you have a date that the DSM to MDW daily roundtrips will make the transition from Air Tran to Southwest??
Thanks, and I LUV these announcements!!

I luv to drink a great Craft Beer in my travels all over the country; but when Southwest takes me there; I'm very happy to now have Coors Light to get with my Business Select Drink Tickets! I would luv it even better if SWA got some craft beers as well; or even just Sam Adams. However; I'm very VERY happy to be able to tap the rockies on my flights!!! Bring on that Super Cold can!

I've had the same continual trouble to register yesterday and today still.
Also; You may want to take away the Yatzee link under the "promotions" tab on the sw homepage... Since it is 4 days old now; and The new promotion is not linked yet; this would be great timing to do both 🙂
Thanks Southwest!

I hope you can find a permanent spot to house the Porch in Chicago!! I've always wanted to go spend some time at the Porch locations elsewhere! As a loyal SW A-List Preferred Member; I would LOVE to see others get to experience some of the Southwest Hospitality that the porch shows!! And it would be a great resting place on those long family trips into Chicago with family (we live in NW Indiana and take day trips to Chicago all the time).

Just one question: in the picture with the gentleman waiting for his flight; there appears a bowl on the counter. Could anyone tell what this is? is it baggage tags? Mints? Something else? Just a little curious about the large deep bowl; and why it would be sitting on the counter there...
Great story! Thanks for the history! One thing I LUV about this Blog!

My wife and I are very big Green conscious consumers. One more reason to add to our list of why we fly Southwest!

As a SWA RR member for business every monday and friday; I will benefit from this new program ONLY because I fly so often in Business Select. However; If you must go forward with this transition I urge the following:
1) at least allow those RR members who are between the 0-16 points needed in the old system for a free flight to select whether or not they want to have those credits they have on March 1 transitioned to points in the new system; or continue on the old system til they reach 16. Example: I have 1.25 RR credits from one flight and don't fly anymore between now and March 1 because I don't like the new program. On March1; you give me the option to keep that 1.25 credits and earn 14.75 more for a free flight; or allow me to get the point equivilation on the new system when it starts since it will take a while before i get those 14.75 RR credits.
2) I hope you will learn from all of this feedback that before you make a change in any program relating to your customers; you send out an email or survey to all of your RR members so they can give feedback instead of basing your changes on what you think or what only a few of your RR members think will be good for them.
3) I have worked on getting a Companion pass for my wife and currently under the old program I have until July to get to 100 RR points. I have 56 currently. There is NO WAY i will get 44 credits between now and March 1; but I would have been able to easily by July. So why take this away from current RR members? Give them until their current time expires; even if it's after the launch date of the new program. Do the same with A-list.
Many of us would probably live with the new program; not love it but live with it; if you would make these simple changes to what you have announced. I have always LOVED SWA. however; now you make me want to go back to flying other companies because you are becoming just like them!

Team,
Two things:
1) Users must once checking in click on "Donate on my behalf" or FB will NOT relay to Southwest that a checkin has taken place. This is not mentioned in the instructions on your Southwest page for people to know they have to make that extra step for the donation to be made.
2) There are several Airports that the "Southwest at (Insert airport abbreviation here)" is not listed on FB Places. Mainly Nashville. If someone can set this up; I fly in and out of Nashville twice a week; and would love my FB status to say "Scott just checked in at Southwest at BNA" but currently it just says "Scott checked in at BNA". I would LOVE this to work to donate to MAW as well! I do it every time out of Chicago Midway!!
Thanks for looking into these two issues!

My wife and I live in Northwest Indiana; and being right outside of Chicago it's a long drive in traffic into the city! I fly out of Midway every Monday for my job; and fly back in every Friday. For me to be able to avoid a 2 hr traffic mess every Monday and Friday; I echo Larry's thoughts! It's great to be able to take the Electric Train that leaves 5 miles from where I live into downtown Chicago; then the "L" Orange Line to Midway! Avoids all the traffic, and takes only 20 minutes longer than driving; yet I get so much accomplished on the ride.
My wife and I LOVE doing everything we can to be a green conscious family. And this is one more thing I think too many Americans have access to but do not take advantage of.
Great way to bring attention to this! Thanks Southwest!!
