Interesting. I picked up a fare in Oakland who flew in from San Antonio with an oversized box. I assumed he was on Southwest (Over have the flights in Oakland are Southwest) but could be mistaken.

Thank you Sanguenetta. Where might I find those codes? I had looked into CPR/FIRST AID/ AED Certification in the past, so time I get that part done. I drive a lot of flight attendants from several airlines with Lyft and received a lot of encouragement. Southwest is my only choice, they do it the best and I want to go with a winner. Excuse me if you read this before, I tried to reply directly to a Southwest Employee's reply, but it got buried in the thread I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area all my life. I under stand there is a demand there for home grown Flight Attendants here. That too many move here, only to relocate to other cities. I drive for Lyft and spoke with someone (pick up lots of Flight Attendants) with a friend who was just hired to fly out of Oakland, though they aren't posting the position but for a few hours. Any ideas of how I can submit my resume for the Oakland area, even though there is no posted position? I hadn't submitted my resume yet, I assumed that Southwest wouldn't be hiring till the 737 MAX8 was flying again, that must really hurt those flight crews. If there is any advice you can give me, I would really appreciate it. You can PM if you like. I am 60, which I thought might be a strike against me, but now is a sign of stability. My biggest fear was having to relocate! Driving for Lyft, I got a jacket for completing 1,000 rides. What do you get for replying to 1,000 requests from potential flight attendants? I think that is reasonable, that is a lot of air craft out of service. I have confidence that routes will be restored once you have all of those aircraft on line. As one who wants to apply for a Flight Attendant position, I have figured there won't be any openings until those aircraft are back in the rotation, the effect on those flight crews must be a burden for the airlines. Of course it's difficult or anyone could do it. I have been bless with a great many experiences in my lifetime that make me well suited to become a Flight Attendant. It's not life or death, I am quite content where I am in lifet, but it would be an amazing experience and gratifying job. Just like my current position driving for a ride share. Meeting so many people, for a brief moment helps to show how really alike we all are. So whatever happens, I am already blessed. You can only succeed by trying and believing in yourself.

I am curious about a few things: 1) Is there an age requirement to become a flight attendant, I am 60. 2) Do I need to move to a needed location to get hired, or if I live in the Bay Area like I do, can I still work out of another city? Family reason make it impossible to relocate. 3) Facial hair, is that allowed? 4) Do they train on demand, or do they wait till they have enough for a training class? I never had thought of doing this till I drove a couple Southwest Attendants to the airport. I was very impressed with them, they told me a bit about their jobs, and when I said I wish I had theirs, they told me how to apply and that my age might not be a factor. I think I am well suited for it, I drive for a ride share, over 2000 rides, never had a bad experience to date and have a 5 star rating and was also a mail carrier. I enjoy people, and I think as I have gotten older, I have learned to learn from everyone. I will keep watching so I can apply. Thank you

Hi Kelly, Is facial hair/beards allowed? I never see them in the commercials or website photos. Yes I have a goatee. I am waiting to apply as flight attendant, I was engcougred by two flight attendants I drove to the airport. I am a young 60, may as well start living! James
