I kept checking multiple times and sure enough a flight opened up with enough seats. I never thought it would happen. SW also called us today to make sure the cancelled flight was resolved. I appreciated the call also let them know it may be a better practice to call before the email comes saying your flights are cancelled. Thanks all for the suggestions.

Thanks, we are a family of 6 traveling to Kona, HI from Denver. Travel between March 12-19 was our original itinerary, we have some wiggle room on both ends.

I don't' expect them to bump someone else, but it sounds like that's exactly what they did to us. I'm sure the discussion when like this "hey we need to make room on this plane, lets cancel the family of 6 that would be easy". Its really hard getting 6 seats last minute on a plane no that numbers have gone down, that's why we book as soon as it was available for our week. We've checked 2 days before or after our departure date and nothing is available. That's why I posted to see if any pros have any ideas. We are trying to get to Kona, HI on March 12-19 (spring break which doesn't help) from Denver.

We've had a booked flight for over 1 mo. and today I got a email saying our flight was Cancelled. No new flight, no warning, no nothing. Called customer (not so good) service and they said Sorry, you have 14 days to book a flight and we will honor your price. I looked at the Southwest Airlines Customer Service Commitment and it says if a flight is cancelled they will book the next available flight, but now that the flight is close there isn't any available flights. Shouldn't Southwest be held a little accountable to someone with a reservation. What are my options? This trip was my kids Christmas Present in 2019. Thanks COVID and Southwest for ruining everything.
