I have to recommend that when traveling during the Holiday season, as it is called, allow extra time for your airport experience.
Two hours from airport arrival to flight departure works in most cases, but consider that there is a 1/2 hour before the flight departs where boarding begins. Now, you are down to 90 minutes.
Consider the 1/2 hour that you might spend at baggage check in, the 1/2 hour to get through TSA, the 1/4 hour that you spend from the TSA area to travel to the gates via the train at MCO and you have just 15 minutes to spare. Anything that goes wrong deducts from your margin until you have missed the flight.
While I do regret hearing your story, I would not even attempt to travel through MCO this time of year with a two hour window. Sorry for the experience.

I don't believe that Southwest makes the choices of gate locations, the airport authority makes decisions regarding carriers and their location.
An airport authority can have politics like a small city. There are any number of reasons that the Southwest terminals get moved around.

Were they in the TSA line being greeted by the nicest people on earth?
If so, this is not Southwest's issue, it is YOUR issue. If you allowed about a two hour window during this time of year to get to the airport, get through the TSA line and then board the plane, you underestimated the time.
Not Southwest's fault.

I had a bad experience booking with Southwest Vacations and ended up getting about $450 back as compensation.
Make no mistake, this company is not Southwest but I wrote to Southwest's CEO several times and finally got results.
Never will I book with them again, even if they pay me for the vacation. You can do better booking things on your own.

I am beyond tired of people bringing excessively large items as well as more than two carry-on items into the plane. The rules are clear and they ARE NOT being enforced by the gate agents.
I would propose that anyone who attempts to bring an oversized and/or excessive item count on the plane be moved to the end of the line and those items checked at a cost of $50/item and the grand sum of the revenue be used by Southwest to offset cost increases.
I would also propose that anyone who receives this additional cost more than three times be blocked from traveling on Southwest.
The number of grand pianos, riding mowers, outdoor sheds, compact cars and the like that people try to bring on the plane is a serious issue.

The employer is not obligated to tell you why you were not selected for employment. The only requirement is that you not discriminate on any one or more of the EEOC items.
I would suggest calling Southwest and ask the meaning for someone's name in red on the application list. As an alternative, write a letter and ask the reason that you were not selected.
Keep in mind that it is not Southwest that does the hiring, it is people. Who knows what goes through the mind of an HR person as they do their job.

I actually think that Southwest executives take a periodic break and read this board. They get some popcorn, beverages, comfortable chairs and this show is better than any Vegas show.
Between the fussing about Internet, to preboarders, to gate changes, to employment issues this board is about as nuts as it comes.
Pop me another bag of popcorn as I preboard.....over the ocean blue....

I see this as a Southwest problem. The LAW is clear, those who "self identify" with a disability get to preboard.
Since Southwest has open seating, the preboard sit wherever they like. Yes, you can buy an economy ticket and get the best seat in the house. That is not, I repeat NOT the preboard individual's problem, that is Southwest's problem.
My advice is that if you "self identify" as a person with a disability, then you preboard if you must.

I agree that Southwest needs to get it together and once a gate is assigned, they need to show the FORMER travel destination and route you to the new gate, not just switch destinations.
All of these airports are different and the "announcement" cannot always be heard just outside of the immediate gate area.
for that reason, I suggest you download the Southwest App which will alert you to gate changes. I would write to the Southwest CEO and demand a full credit for the cost of the flight.
That is their mess to manage, not yours.

Like I have said in another post, someone can do backflips and acrobatics all the way to the gate and then "self identify" as a person with a disability. That's the LAW.
Then, once on the plane, they can withdraw their claim and sit anywhere they want. The "self identify" is not a lifelong claim, it must be done on each boarding event. The LAW is silent with regard to withdrawing your claim once you walk through the plane's door.
This is not an issue for the preboarder. This is Southwest's perfect storm by having unassigned seats and then charging people extra to be part of the early boarding. Yes, preboard people buy the cheap ticket and get the best seats.
Nothing you can do other that stand there and watch. It is the LAW.

I never said that I do cartwheels, backflips or acrobatics to the gate. You claim that I did.
I did say that a person could do backflips and acrobatics all the way to the gate and then "self identify" as a person with a disability, then preboard. That's the LAW.
I also said that there is nothing permanent about the LAW since one could make the claim, enter the airplane, then withdraw their self identification.
You need to make proper quotes and STOP TROLLING ME.

I flew MCO to BHM and back yesterday and did not preboard. Instead, I checked in and took my regular B boarding position and decided to sit near the back of the plane. It is the first time that I have sat in the back in a long time.
Doing so, I wondered about all of the drama around preboarding including a recent post where I was called a name that resulted in the thread being locked and the individual to whom the name was generated to be blocked from the board.
If you all just chill, all of this nonsense goes away. I enjoyed my flight and didn't stew over those that preboarded.

Talk to Southwest. They will likely give a travel fund credit for the ticket on the person that can't go, issue another ticket on the person that can go with those travel funds.
