That's not a rejection letter or anything close. That email is to keep you updated on when to expect a response. It's very time consuming for any company to filter through 100+ applications. A rejection letter will clearly be spelled out, as a rejection letter, so hang tight and be patient.

Senior Agents (ramp, ops or csa) perfer morning shift. Senior Agents also perfer weekends off. So, new hires are more likely to work a PM shift and Sat/Sun.
But, during training, you'll prob be partnered with a Senior Agent, and there's a good chance, your first few weeks will be mornings.
Truly, there's no right answer to your question. I'd recommend, you get someone lined-up, to take your children for you (plan for the worst and hope for the best).
Congrats on getting selected!!!

I'm assuming you're referring to SIDA badge training. If so, it's training and testing regarding airport security only.
It's about an hour in duration and might take 1.5 hours, if you take your time..
Taking notes while training is important and recommended.. During the training, you'll have sample "tests" between subjects. You're allowed to miss sample test questions, but on the final test, at the end, you must pass with a 90% or 100% depending on your airport.
*The answers you get wrong during the sample tests, take special note of them...
Congratulations on making it home!!!

Yes and Yes. Study SWA airport codes, this is "important" for the exams as well as your position at SWA.. Make flash cards, city and state on one side and airport code on the other..
Have confidence within yourself, as you did with your interviews, and you'll be completely fine. They're hard, but not too hard to worry about it..

Yes, there are exams. Your true focus should be to memorize all SWA airport codes..
Also, you should attend SWA's webinars regarding new hires and onboarding, the SWA agents give alot of good knowledge and, it's actually very entertaining to watch.
Congrats!

The Sterling background check, drug test and fingerprints is very time sensitive..
I'd reach out to your SWA recruiter asap b/c these three tasks, should have been delivered at the same time.
Congrats too!!

@wren333 As long as you replied to the original recruiter's email, I'd say, be by your phone all day monday b/c they'll def call you, as one user mentioned up-above, which was good advice.
This is not a "customer to customer forum" only, as stated above.. This forum is open to employees, SWA applicants and customers. SWA HR has replied many times on this forum, helping applicants and employees, with their questions and concerns..
If you dont get your call on monday, tag @adrienneb with your issue/concern, this individual has helped many applicants within this forum.
Good luck and wish you the best.

@YeahNoMaybe I do agree with you.. And, if you had the ability, "to block a certian user", from seeing their replies, you'd prob block the same exact individual, that I would choose to block.
Maybe flagging/reporting this individual's replies are the best way for moderators to get involved, especially if their reply is not helpful, not a solution, misleading or a rant, like it typically is.

@victoriagca If you didn't pass your re-hire review, don't let that stop you from your goal AND, if you made it to your re-hire review, that means SWA's recruiter saw something positive in you and understood your reasoning, which is why they advanced you, to the re-hire panel.
Don't assume you didn't pass b/c your reason for leaving was not justifiable or explained properly. You could've failed the re-hire review due to other reasons, like; the way you presented yourself or maybe, you got choked-up on a specific question/answer.. It could've been your answer, on why you wanted to be re-hired back at SWA.. We're all judged, in more ways than one...
In my opinion, the reason why you want back, must be just as important as what made you leave.. Now that you know the process and what to expect, you'll def do much better, the next time you apply.
Try again and try harder!!!

@sfminhas SWA Recruiters do not skip applicants if they're past employees, even if one quits or gets terminated. SWA Recruiters understand that people do change. especially if the hard times we encountered causing our departure, have been resolved.
I quit SWA in 2013. Since then, I've re-applied a countless number of times with never no luck. But, I've recently been awarded a position at SWA, and I'm headed for training soon. So, it is possible.
What makes it hard, is when SWA needs to fill only 15-20 positions, but several hundreds of applicants apply.. A key is also to apply early, possibly within 30mins of their job posting, to get ahead of the surge.
Don't give up and keep applying!!

Nobody knows when positions at SWA become available/open, not even SWA employees. Your only way to quickly know, is to sign up for alerts, on the careers page.

@Brandyngilks If you recieved a notification from a SWA recruiter stating, that you're scheduled for a phone interview, you should've been called.
When you were notified of this phone interview, within that same email, there should be contact info, for that recruiter or, the recruiter that you were scheduled with. Being patient and not distubing SWA recruiters is very important but, in a situation like this, you should reach-out to one of them, and they'll address your concerns.

I've traveled through many conversations on this site, regarding ex-employees getting re-hired at SWA, and I see a mix of contradicting information scattered throughout, some being wrong.. I'd love to give my two cents, so SWA re-hire applicants have more direction and insight.
First, a little about myself;
-I'm not a SWA employee.
-I'm a persistent re-hire applicant.
-I've tried countless times over the years, to get re-hired back and I've yet to be successful.
-In past years, I've had applications not get accepted and they never led to interviews.
-In past years, I've had applications get accepted, but phone/in-person interviews, did not go in my favor.
-Currently, I have an application that's been accepted, I've passed many interviews, and I've also passed my "re-hire panel."
-My current/pending application process is the farthest I've ever been, in-regards to re-applying at SWA and it occured, by not giving up. Which led me to share.
I hope the information and advise below is helpful for every re-hire applicant;
-Do not contact SWA's recruiters or employees prematurely to applying or interviewing. Instead, patiently wait for a SWA position to become available and then apply for that position asap.
-If your application gets accepted, you'll then have your chance to interview with a SWA recruiter. This interview, will be your opportunity to discuss in-detail, your reason(s) for leaving SWA. Other conversation topics will be dicussed as-well, not just why you left or why you want back.
-If your application does NOT get accepted or, if it does but your interview fails, please do NOT assume that your application was denied b/c you were a "re-hire". Instead, keep in mind, that 100's of other qualified applicants are also applying for that position, therefore the chances of being hired, are very slim, for everyone. Just re-apply at a later date and don't give up.
-If your application gets accepted and you also pass your interview w/the SWA recruiter, then you'll have to present your situation to a "re-hire panel" of SWA supervisors. You'll have to explain to the re-hire panel, why you left AND why you want back. This "re-hire panel" will also have an open-mind, as your recruiter did, so have confidence and speak from the heart.
-If your application gets accepted and your interview(s) went well AND, the re-hire panel advances your application, you may have one more interview (as I recently did) or, it may be time for a background check, fingerprints, drug testing, ect. as other applicants have done, every case is different and unique.
-Between the application and interviewing process, you'll be asked to fillout a former employee form. This is not bad news, it's an advancement in your process.
-Getting hired at SWA takes many months, back and fourth communication also takes a long time, so be patient during the whole process b/c SWA recruiters are working with 100's of applicants.
Also, SWA recruiters do acknowledge that sometimes employee's go through hard times and, that those hard times do affect employment, as well as relationships. Therefore, SWA recruiters do NOT look-down upon re-hiring past employees, as long as you've solved your issues and moved on in life.
If you really want something in life, never give up chasing it. Failed attempts should only give you more ambition to try harder.

Absolutely, you have the chance to be rehired back, along with every other past employee. The most accurate path of being rehired back is to patiently wait for an open position and then fill-out that application asap.
If your application advances to an interview, this is when rehires have their chance to explain their past situation in detail, to their recruiter/interviewer. This would be your open door.
I've tried for many years to be rehired back and I've failed multiple times but, I've never given up or lost hope. Currently, I just pasted many interviews, I passed my rehire interview, and my "rehire" is currently pending with ops in las. My fingers and toes are crossed b/c this is something I really want too BUT, if I'm declined again, I'll still continue to apply in the future and I'd say the same for you and anyone else, if you really really want it, keep applying every chance you get.
