Yes, they should, however, I've had at least 3 instances where we did not get sequential boarding numbers.

I'm aware of the A group additional purchase, but as a flying family, we cannot afford the additional costs like this, especially per person, which is why we fly SWA. There just has to be a better way, even being able to potentially link all People within your travel group so when it's check-in time, you get consecutive numbers, or even have all families wishing to partake in family boarding be required to board the back of the plane instead of scattered.

I do not like the idea of assigned seats on SWA, it's what makes us different, however, for efficiency sake that no other airline is doing is loading people in the back of the plane first. Maybe if there were a ticket preference (cheaper fare?) where if you are willing to sit in the back of the plane, you get to board first, then middle, then front (higher fare). We would load back to front and get out of the gate faster with less time people going back and forth trying to find an empty seat. Just a thought.

As a parent of 2 under the age of 12, there have been times when we have checked in and have completed different boarding numbers, and this adds to the stress of traveling with the thought of my child potentially having to sit in a random empty seat next to a stranger. I wish the family boarding went up to age 12, however, I have seen this severely abused in the 7 and under category with a whole family of parents, grandparents, teenagers, etc. of like 8+ people all boarding. There needs to be limits that are enforced, or there needs to be a way to ensure a family gets to sit together, especially with younger children..

The "$49" flight emails are intriguing but they are also extremely frustrating as when you select it, it forces you to put in departure AND return airports. What if I'm just wanting to see my possibilities FROM my main airport and where the lowest fares are?
It would be great if we could do a RR Just Getaway search where you put in your departing airport and dates and just search from there and it brings up a list of possible SWA locations you could fly to with the lowest fares. I would be more likely to do this and book a quick getaway more frequently.
