I referred a friend to get a Southwest credit card. I received my 20,000 points, for referring her. She spent $1000. to get her 50,000 points. But is being told she will not get the points unless she spend $5000 in 3 months. That's not right, she called and the supervisor told her That's not an offer. Does she have to wait the 3 months once she spends $1000?

Chase would tell Southwest to issue allowable RR points shortly after the issuance of the statement that clears the spend limit.

Thank you. She called and was told she would have to spend $5000, but the offer said spend $1000 for 50,000. Hopefully, like you said, the points will just appear on her bill.

There's a progress bar in her account that shows the requirement and current amount spent towards it. That would easily show what the offer is.
