Can a deaf be a flight attendant for this airline?

I was wondering, is it possible for a deaf person who cannot hear or speak to be a flight attendant? if a deaf person is actually becoming a flight attendant, I am sure they can find the way to able to communicate.

An FA with a hearing aid would be ok, but one totally deaf would not.

Think about it, during an emergency the FA's would need to be able to react to both pilot and passenger voices.

Is this theoretical or do you know someone?

Definitely going to be some challenges. Especially on the single-aisle aircraft there isn't really a FA duty that doesn't require frequent verbal communication.

If this is serious the candidate may need to look at airlines with larger aircraft there could be a role, or else other positions at an airline if their goal is to work in aviation.
