Just to add, sometimes SWA makes a quick touch-and-go where a few passengers deplane/board and then you take back off again! These "stopovers" aren't too long, and allow you to stretch your legs, use the bathroom, and get a drink, all on the ground. Safe travels!

Just to add, those usually incapable of performing emergency operations are usually the preboard passengers. If you were within the first 60 people to board, the flight attendant may have been blocking the seat so that pre-boarders don't sit down there accidentally. Keep in mind, the FA likely wasn't holding it for their own personal gain! As @dfwskier mentioned, there's no rule for or against holding seats, but it should obviously be done in reason. Hope this helps clarify for next time!

I don't think Southwest gives out lids but this is definitely something to share directly with SWA. Best bet is to message via social media with your feedback.

Seconding that! @bec102896 has got it right. For the latest, try reaching out via Twitter to @SouthwestAir as they might have some updates for you!

I'll note that there's only so many A seats, and that it just guarantees you get a decent boarding slot. It never says you'll get A1. I always say that you're buying peace of mind, and not just a boarding/seat position. Better next time with it!

How are you launching the entertainment portal? Via the app? Via southwest.com?

Mind if I hop in? Officially, per the rules, flight attendants cannot suggest or stop passengers from holding seats. It sometimes isn't fun to be on the end of the rejection, but keep in mind that this applies to everyone. So, if you wanted to hold a seat for your wife/husband that's technically allowed and not prohibited. I'll also note that all passengers should use common sense and respect for each other, so saving 9 seats is wrong to everyone, even if they can't be stopped or penalized. Wings crossed that your seat selection goes a bit easier next time around! Safe travels!

I'll note that the answer is likely a no. They'll need to be phased back in, and as they reenter service, the cutback routes will then increase again.

I can definitely relate as we were in the same situation. We ultimately used the same confirmation code over and over to pay the $5.60 government fees. While I'm not sure how much it'll help, try reaching out via Twitter or giving Southwest a call, maybe they can assist further with this scenario.

Hey there, Congrats on hitting the Companion Pass goal! The link to add a companion should appear within 48 hours, however, you can always reach out to Southwest via social media or phone to add a companion's name and info. Just have their name, birthday, and Rapid Rewards number. Good luck, and happy travels!

As always, be sure to share your feedback directly with Southwest by calling them, tweeting them, or private messaging them on any social media platform. While these flights might be seasonal now, if you let your voice be heard, it's possible that this can change to regular service. Wings crossed! 🙂

I'm seeing it here, and truly appreciate the sweet gesture (and hoping it sticks!). I did apply for the new SWA card and got companion pass, and it seems others reporting this did too.

I'm a fan of other airlines (looking at you, Delta) offering 2,000 miles if bags aren't on the belt by 20 minutes. Hopefully SWA will improve BWI baggage times soon!

Just to add to this — it sometimes can be a bit costly! I just hit the Companion Pass, so I defintely understand the struggle to rush and race for status. Here's to an awesome 2020 with SWA!

I sometimes run into issues with my Pixelbook. When I do, I'm also able to open the same material on an iPad and Dell laptop and it works fine there. - Wifi portal won't load - Can't access inflight entertainment - Etc. Was never able to find the root of the issue.

Sorry for the frustration that occured on this flight. As mentioned, there isn't much you can personally do in that scenario. Maybe on your next flight you can remind the FA during boarding to stress these points prior to takeoff? You can also share your feedback with the airline (via Contact Us below, or social media) as maybe that can increase the signage or update the seat back material to reflect this? Sorry again, and hey with open seating, better luck to avoiding this next time!

As mentioned previously, the Companion Pass remains an incredibly valued item that can be acquired by practically anyone (via the airline's many options: credit cards, flights, dining, etc.). As always, be sure to voice your feedback with Southwest via their official channels (phone, email, Twitter, etc.) so your thoughts can be passed to the proper team. Who knows? Maybe they'll walk this back once they see how tough this is for folks.
