Thank you for your service! I was Navy but didn't puruse the airline route. I'm active here on the threads and there usually isn't too much chatter here about rotary or other pilot qualifications so I think your best bet is to reach out to Southwest, contact someone on LinkedIn (send me a private message if you want to connect with me and I can try to help facilitate), or to use one of the pilot boards. Here is what the Southwest pilot carers portal page states: "If you have questions regarding profile data such as qualifications, flight time, work history, or employment information contact us via email at: swaprofile@wnco.com" - source: https://swa.pilotcredentials.com/ This is the First Officer Opportunities page: https://careers.southwestair.com/pilots Good luck!

I don't know if there is an official policy with more detail but here is a quote about the Southwest plan, "A spokesperson said that if a passenger does not want to fly the 737 Max, “we will offer them full flexibility.'" It has to be Midway as that is the only Chicago airport with Southwest operations and the related activities listed in the job description. Good luck!

@Cable-TV-Guy wrote: There are a couple of places in Europe I'd like to go to next year. I realize much has changed for the airline passenger "experience" since my first trip in 1965. So, I'll see what happens and share with this forum how this trip with Southwest goes. Thanks for letting me share. That would be great for you to come back to share about your next experience with Southwest! We love to travel and sometimes have to roll with the punches. We just came back from Spain, obviously with another airline, and our flight back to the States was delayed a few days by hurricane Dorian (hooray for trip delay insurance courtesy of our credit card). Then when we finally did fly home the flight was delayed a few hours because of a "technical issue" (hooray for lounge access courtesy of our credit card). Even with the hiccups and delays there is no way in the world I would trade our time in Spain to avoid them. I hope you have a great time and I hope you get to those places in Europe soon!

Following up on the statement from @elijahbrantley "I always hear them make multiple announcements for folks who are missing" --> this is exactly what happened when we departed on our flight from FLL last week. They made multiple announcements for multiple passengers then the final announcement stated that all of the folks arriving from the Atlanta flight and heading to the boarded/boarding flight should proceed directly to gate B4 (I think that was the gate). I presume they all made it. @TheMiddleSeat people have looooong memories. Speaking from personal experience.

A follow up post thanks to an assist from @chgoflyer and @TheMiddleSeat the only specific time period reference I'm able to find is on the flight booking page. When you click on the "View fare type benefits" drop down link and then click on the information "i" next to the "Reusable funds" row, I currently see the following wording, "If you cancel your flight, 100% of your ticket can be applied to future travel for up to 12 months." A screen shot of what I see right now is attached. Hope this helps.

I haven't seen a change -- any chance you had any other travel funds used to book the flight on 7/10? If not then I'd ask Southwest, you may want to use the chat function within the app. Would you be able to come back to let the forum know the resolution? Thanks!

I don't know if there are work from home opportunities but you may want to start your search by scrolling all of the way down to the careers web page to the job categories and click on the "Customer Support" section: https://careers.southwestair.com/

You may also want to see if they are able to help you with a refund via the chat function within the Southwest app, I've had speedy and knowledgeable help the two times I've used for other topics.

I would personally take that approach. One of the benefits of flying Southwest is that you pay the same price whether you book one round trip or you book two separate one way segments. Having the one ways booked will also make it easier for you to take advantage of any future fare decreases too. Note that you will have two separate booking numbers with this approach. Hope you are going somewhere great!

One work around that may be an option if you have points is to book the far off flight(s) for your "non companion future companion(s)" using points. You'll know you have a seat for the non companion future companion(s) when you are ready to make the companion change. To make the change get in touch by the phone number shown in your account: explain that you want to change your companion and to also convert your points booking to a companion booking with a cash refund of the taxes and fees for the original points booking. <br><br> This is the method I used earlier this year, your mileage may vary.

An option to escalate with Southwest is to send an old fashioned letter using the address found in the "contact us" link at the bottom of the forum pages. I've seen a recent report from someone else here on the boards state that they received a well written response to their letter.

That’s not fun! Having said that, some credit cards offer trip delay insurance as a benefit for booking with the card, check with your provider. There are also many travel insurance companies selling policies for situations like the one you described.

Yay Companion Pass! You can call or use chat within the app to have Southwest make the changes for you, which is what I'd personally do. I'm assuming you are both on the same reservations now but when your husband gets his new Companion Pass bookings he will have his own reservation numbers. Enjoy!

@DancingDavidE wrote: If you are a Rapid Rewards member logged into the app you may be able to try Live Chat as a method of contact that is similar to Twitter, but with the advantage the rep know who you are already. I'm a HUGE fan of the chat function within the app. I'm impacted by the hurricane and just rebooked tickets using the chat function -- we are overseas now and our travelling party has multiple PNR numbers (one down side of Companion Pass bookings). Literally no wait to get in to the chat with Diana. I think there were 2 people in the queue but the numbers ticked away before I could even think about it.

@Beerlev wrote: Are flight cancellations and the subsequent costs (hotel, lodging, etc) covered by Southwest? Or possibly by travel insurance (paid with AMEX)? Echoing the comment to check coverage with AMEX. Many insurance providers will not pay unless your flight is cancelled so if you were to rebook on your own before you receive a formal cancellation notification then you may not be reimbursed for your additional expenses. Save all documentation and receipts! Edit to add: Insurance provided will vary greatly depending on the provider so always check with the issuing company. Some travel insurance companies may be more proactive with their approaches.

There is not a weight limit listed on the Southwest carryon page (https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/baggage/carryon-bags-pol.html) but as noted on the page, "A friendly reminder: If your personal item does not fit under your seat, you will be asked to place it in an overhead bin." Just curious, are you just worried that there is a weight limit or are you planning to bring something crazy heavy on board?

For me personally, I am good with this fee given all the other flexible policies. Splitting hairs here but I wouldn't even call it a fee. I take back all of the bad things I said lol. But the lost and found people need a phone number with a live person that you can speak to. Thank you to DancingDavidE for your assistance. Thank you for letting the community here know! It's good to see your two data points: no serial number and a found report. 10 days or so seems to be about the average length of time others have reported so your report is in line. Your information share will help the active users here to help others in the future. So thank you!
