I'd totally go for it. I've only flown into Vancouver and would gladly do so again... especially if I didn't have to deal with other airlines.

You'd have to check with them. In my experience, most rapid tests aren't accepted. But if they have them for Hawaii, they should have some that are accepted for return to USA since I think they follow the same rules.

If you care to nitpick, at least when you're in your seat, you have air blasting down on you keeping the spittle away. Once you stand up, you lose that feature. I've studied this phenomenon both before and during Covid. I don't see a good option. The best we can hope for is for one person per row (or every other if you wish during Covid) to get up and prepare to deplane. Then once they get by, the next folks do the same. The key here is to only stand up when you can get off the plane quickly, or you're not blocking the aisle. This is an issue of decorum and possibly waiting a few moments to avoid delaying others. This requires a modicum of intelligence and being unselfish about it. But we rarely get that. Instead we get boorish people pushing their way towards the back to get their bag, rather than waiting for those aisles to clear and getting their bag without holding anyone up. Those sorts of people are unreachable, pandemic or otherwise.

Just returned from Mexico. Nothing is required to get in. Just the tracking info provided to Mexico. Getting out, you have to provide recent test info or proof of Covid recovery within 90 days at check in to get your boarding pass. This is the USA requirement. Then you have to fill out another health form to get into security. This is another tracking info function by Mexico. Again, no test required.

If you're still fixating on wipes and straws, I suggest you stay home. You're either a high risk individual, or feel you are one, so nothing you'll find in the outside world will make you feel safe... especially around an airport. By this point, nothing is going to change anyone's actions out there... not you, not the flight attendants, not any new rules. At this point, it's down to your personal decision about where you fit into the statistics.

If the goal is to earn points for CP, I think the hotel stay is the best bet. Some hotels offer bonus points at around 160 points per dollar, which is close to the valuation. But you lose refundability. Rental cars are not so good. The cost to rent is high. A good discount rate is a better deal, but can't be used with reward points. Of course, putting everything on the RR card is a no- brainer.

So if a "full credit of your funds once they expire" is less than what you were promised, what were you promised? Yes, it does suck that you have to wait until after your funds expire. That rule is annoying if you are trying to book a flight close to your expiration date. But it's still better than all those other airlines.

That's interesting that they offered the CP for business travel, to those with the credit card. I got a 5000pt offer for flying 4 flights through work. Obviously most work travel is dead...hurting SWA quite a bit. But then a similar offer showed up without the work restriction. So it's possible they may come through with another CP promo for the rest of us. Not sure I can afford it, though. We used ours for Maui, Vegas, Colorado, and Cancun so far... the weather down here is fabulous. One more trip to Phoenix before it expires... the kids are almost getting sick of all the travel... no pun intended.

Our last few flights have seem to have gotten better. Yes, there will always be someone in the aisle who will tend to move forward. But someone has to get their bags first. Of course, when I blocked the aisle last time, the 20 year old girl behind us begged us to let her get by to get to her next flight "that was leaving in 5 minutes". We weren't surprised when she was on our next flight, leaving in 65 minutes... which of course we boarded first. Whether she was selfish or just ignorant of time zones will never be known

As far as I can tell, online will only book flights with one connection. If it takes two, you have to call in. I might be wrong, but the only times I've gotten two connection flights are when my original itinerary was changed f due to flight cancelations. So there are always more ways to skin a cat that shown online.

Sadly, no options. They are good for travel only. And extending them after they expire costs $100 each... more than your value.

Yes, while I'd been inclined to accept and appreciate your complaints as legitimate, the fact that you didn't appreciate the humor that is part of the SW business model makes me wonder if you're being overly sensitive to the entire experience. The goal here isn't to treat you like royalty. You're flying coach on a budget airline... with cheap snacks and water. Maybe Brandi's brand was a bit too dry for you? Again, I'm sorry for your negative experience, but I assure you regular Joe's like me appreciate the SW model and I've never had a bad time on a flight. The worst SW employees are the same as the regular boring people on those other planes. But the other 80% are much more fun than any of them.

Greed? I didn't know that losing millions of dollars a DAY is considered greed. If so, I'd like to see your finances. I suspect you're more greedy than they are. I get your fear and disappointment. You've been spooked by your media. We get it. That still doesn't change the FACTS the airlines have financial realities and air travel is NOT likely to spread the virus. Period. You can choose not to fly. You can also choose to stay home and not associate with other people. The latter is more likely to give you Covid. Trust me...I speak from experience that matches the science. Ps... and none of their policy is "misleading". It's completely upfront and understandable. If you can't grasp it, I can't help you.

Yes, relax. You actually got the better deal. You got 50,000 more free points, worth about $800. You get a Companion pass for 12-23 months. They get a pass for 2-12 months. The only difference is you have to spend up to $20,000 before you get your CP, or as little as $4000 in SW tickets or gift cards. They have to spend $3000. If you plan on using that CP, buying a few thousand dollars in SW tickets or gift cards should be easy.. Sounds like you're already there. And oh, they just offered me 5000 pts to upgrade my card. Not gonna do it. It offers exactly zero benefits to anyone who's A-list. Which it also sounds like you already are. So wait, what exactly are you complaining about? 🤔

So it sounds like you got the 2022 extension when you canceled in September. If you have your booking email for you latest trip, it'll tell you when the funds expire. If not, you can try to change your April flight to August, and it'll tell you if the funds will expire by then. Otherwise, you'll have to cancel to see the expiration date, or call customer service to ask.

@dealm8ker wrote: You guys are not addressing my issue. I earned Companion Pass in 2019 AND 2020. To earn it in 2020, I spent over $100,000 on the Southwest Credit Card. If I had known that the 2020 Companion Pass was going to be worthless, I would have spent that money on my Disney card and would have earned at least $1,000 in Disney Dollars. I actually lost money by earning Companion Pass in 2020. No need to double post. That just complicates matters. You haven't "lost" any money. Your 2020 pass isn't "worthless". You're just mad that they extended the pass for free due to Covid. Oh well. Life goes on. You made over $1600 in RR points. Last I checked, that's worth more than $1000 in Disney dollars. Yes, you weren't able to game the system to maximize your benefit due to Covid, and SW extending the 2020 CP for free. So you're EXACTLY where you'd have been had Covid not hit. And yet you're complaining? Next time, I suggest you dig out your crystal ball and see what the future has in store. This way, you'll maximize your benefit, and not get mad when someone gives you something free that you already worked for. Or you could just think about things more realistically. That's what I do. (I also have that "worthless" 2021 CP)

Since you did 't list dates or city, I can't tell what you did, but here's what I found For a 3/1 to 3/8 Budget economy rental at COS (listed so anyone can replicate my results) From SW (using special offer) $180+tx 2400 RR points (worth maybe $36) From Budget: $199.99+tx (179.99 pay now) not 2400RR points From Budget using "special discount" 179.99+tx (161.99 pay now) not 2400RR points I didn't try any other dates or places. This was my first and only attempt at the exercise Aha. So I guess I have a good corporate code that gives me lower prices than that (and free cancellation). That's why it usually was worse through SW. I put that code in now and got the same rate. We'll see if I get the points now...and hopefully with the bonus. Am waiting for Budget to reply about the previous rentals. I might need every point to get CP this year.

Thanks for saying the thoughts so eloquently that were in my head, MiddleSeat. (Although I'd have added...any reasonable person would just consider they got their wife's $800 ticket for $100 rather than free, due to THEIR mistake in premature booking, and still consider it a $700 win). Ha, I have many of the same "problems". I have to find ways to book my wife 25 flights to maintain her A-list because she's my companion. (Oh wait, only 15 now thanks to Covid and SWA generosity). So I am carefully booking her flights to get there. We're actually leveraging her Jan-Feb CP to fly ME to Mexico, and use up her flight credits and get her 2 closer to A-list. Oh, my first world issues... The irony is that every other FF plan just gives you what you get EVERY day at SW...free checked bags. Beyond that, you have to scratch and claw to get rewards tickets. Psst...a few hints he doesn't understand: 1. Points tickets on other airlines are only worth it for long flights. On SWA, you better off getting the cheaper flights. Points are worth more due to lack of taxes. 2. You can cancel those tickets without penalty...forever. (Like does anyone get a full priced fare with points??? I hope not) 3. If the price goes down, points refunded. 4. You can even get a CP ticket on a points ticket. How crazy is that? So basically I use my points for "just in case" flights for family members at bare bones prices, and change my mind at my whim. Good luck finding that anywhere else.

@SWFlyer007 wrote: @rich1954 Here is what I do. (Maybe I should spill the beans on here) But here is what I do. I go to the SWA Rental Car selection and do a normal rental request and see just exactly what the top 3 rental car companies are and write them down. I then go to those 3 companies in the DEALS and see what the Corporate or rental special code is for renting with them. I then actually go to each of those 3 airlines websites, (which all already have my rewards connected to SWA) and do a car rental and enter that code. I ALWAYS get a cheaper price than from SWA website rental car option. Sometimes it's been as much as $30 cheaper. And if I'm sure I'm getting that rental, each of the home car rental website has two options, PAY NOW and pay later. The pay now will even net you another saving of 15-30 dollars. Funny, I read what you said but did the exact opposite. I put my work discount BCD code into Budget through SWA and got the same price as through their site...as kind of expected now that I try it. So maybe I'll get the 600 points they promise...which curiously having my SWA RR account listed in Budget has earned me exactly ZERO points from my last rentals. I'll be asking them what's up. Avis does have the no cancellation bonus, but Budget doesn't....odd since they are the same company.

It’s usually a pretty good discount too. Agreed. I always check Costco, and then the Budget app directly. Just checked Florida for April and Budget was cheaper. No need to prepay with either, so no cancellation issues. I've never found a good deal through SW unfortunately. As with the hotel bookings, you pay a premium to get the SW points bonus, and it's usually nonrefundable. Good if you absolutely need the points and are booking last-minute, but rarely worth the cost/risk otherwise. I presume you access he special offers button which provides discounts above the prices shown when pricing cars? When I do that, the prices seem about equal to those offered directly by rent car companies.
