I use the Southwest app quite often on my iPhone (latest IOS, latest app version), and I have never run into this problem, especially not getting locked out of your account immediately trying to sign in using a browser. That sounds like you tried entering your password incorrectly too many times, but, it is worth reporting this error to Southwest on social media (Twitter, Facebook) and see what they say. They are quick to respond. --Jessica

IMO, while I am sure this is an area that can be improved upon, one's wi-fi capabilities on a flight that averages a couple of hours is the least of my concerns when it comes to picking and choosing an airline. --Jessica

When you book your hotel reservation make sure to enter your Rapid Rewards number during checkout - if you don't do this, there is no way for them to give you your points. I've never had a problem with my points posting, it typically takes a few weeks but in some rare cases they will post just a few days after check out is complete. --Jessica

Hi, This isn't something I have any experience with, so hopefully someone else can chime in. I've been hoping Southwest will eventually do away with paper drink tickets altogether and send them to us electronically (accessible via the app) when we reach 10 one way flights/year, so I would hope they could do something similar for Business Select passengers who have free drinks. If you already had a drink ticket 'image' that got taken away, that seems like a step backward, but maybe they are moving toward sending you actual electronic drink tickets that you can scan. That's what I'd like to see, in any case. --Jessica

@ACL -- you can't board a new flight with your missed flight's boarding pass. You should have gone to the podium at the gate as soon as you knew you were going to miss your flight and they would have given you a new boarding pass for your next flight then and there. Also - boarding passes take seconds to print, so you should not have missed your newer flight if you did not have your boarding pass in hand when you went to board. It's rare but I've seen it happen, people are in line to board and the scanner beeps when someone's ticket is scanned, indicating that they don't have an actual boarding pass but a security document, or there is another issue, and they have to go to the gate agent and get a boarding pass printed. --Jessica

I've noticed that if you have your phone set to 'lock' after x minutes, the Wi-Fi does not stay connected and you have to reconnect when you unlock your phone again. Seems logical though - if your phone remains active, your Wi-Fi connection remains intact. --Jessica

While this is a fair topic of discussion, Southwest in my opinion is automatically at a lower risk for the Coronavirus in particular because it does not fly internationally other than to Mexico and the Caribbean currently. Southwest does not fly to China or anywhere in Asia for that matter. That's not to say that there is no risk associated with disease spread on aircraft, but most if not all US-based airlines are quite safe, and there's no reason not to fly within the continental US on an US-based airline, at a minimum. The Coronavirus has just 12 cases in the United States the last I checked, and I believe nearly all of the people infected traveled to Wuhan China specifically, which is where the virus originated. Let's not ring the bells of alarm unnecessarily in regards to air travel. --Jessica

What hidden info and stipulations are you referring to? On Southwest you can cancel or change your flight for free. There is no charge other than the difference in flight cost if you are changing your flight - and you can change your flight as many times as you like. On Delta, they charge a whopping $200-$500 to change or cancel your flight on nonrefundable tickets. On Basic Economy they don't even allow changes or cancellations. Seems like Southwest comes out way ahead in this scenario. --Jessica

I am not sure what you mean about a "5 day rule." If you checked a bag and it did not turn up in baggage claim, Southwest requires that you report it within 4 hours of arriving at your destination. Did you do this? https://www.southwest.com/html/generated/help/faqs/baggage_faq.html If your baggage has been lost, damaged, or delayed, you must report this, in person, at the Southwest Airlines Baggage Service Office within four hours of your arrival at your destination. The Southwest Airlines Baggage Service Office is located in the baggage claim area or the ticket counter at the airport. Additionally, if you can't find your bag at baggage claim: Go to the Southwest Airlines Baggage Service office located in the airport baggage claim area or at the ticket counter to report your delayed bag. The Southwest Airlines Baggage Service Agent will create a report and provide you with a receipt of this report. You will then receive updates regarding the status of your bag. We also provide a phone number that you can call to follow up on the status yourself. --Jessica

@Gunit wrote: No worries! As my original post says, I was just shocked to hear about it. I mean what do I care? I have an employment standard. And parking that I don’t have to pay for is part of it. Even in Vegas these days they are charging for parking at most of the casinos on the strip. Ridiculous! And it sucks! Only just a few years ago it was all complimentary. The rise of the “resort fee” is equally annoying. No value add! They say things like “You get use of the pool!” or “you get a coffee maker!” Well you had that all before. Only wall streeters and their ilk enjoy the nickel and dime culture. I don’t have a problem paying, but just give me the all in price up front so I can make a decision on where I want to stay without all the abnoxious additional billing. Firstly - since you're bringing #Vegas into this, I have to comment on the parking fees. Most resorts do charge for parking now, but not all do - plus, if you are a certain tier status at the hotel properties (ex. Pearl with MLife/MGM Resorts), parking is comped. So that's not really a good example to give here as a lot of people can get their parking waived. Secondly - don't want resort fees? Stay downtown at 4 Queens, they don't charge them, or gamble enough to get them comped off your bill :catwink: Thirdly - there's no proof anywhere that Houston Hobby charges employees for parking. It's just speculation that they do and I can't say one way or another if it is true or false. My guess is they get reimbursed for it, if they do have to pay. --Jessica

I dealt with this for one of my flights last month. The error I received was "Expected Pricing Not Matched." I ended up contacting Southwest several times via Twitter because the fare kept dropping and I couldn't change it on my own. They don't mind at all so please contact them. I am unsure why that one flight caused me issues, but not others. An unconfirmed theory is that you can only rebook a flight so many times. --Jessica

When did your flight change? If it was prior to when you actually flew (and not day of for example), you should have received an e-mail noting the change. When Southwest changes your flight(s), they give you a window to rebook your flight at no additional cost if you are not happy with the changes made. "We were advised to purchase priority boarding passes at $50 each, cost of $100 for husband and myself, so that we could be first off the flight at Baltimore." ^Not entirely sure I agree with this advice. When you purchase priority boarding, there's no guarantee that you'll be first off the flight. It's possible that you could have gotten very similar seats without priority boarding. --Jessica

Nonstops from PHL to LAS and back ceased in the beginning of 2019 - right around the time of the MAX 8 grounding. The last nonstop flights I took was in October 2018. This route only had 1-2 nonstop flights per day to begin with, so I can understand them being eliminated, but it's still painful. I am coping the best I can, but the 'cheapest' options now are with 2 stops, and it's hard! --Jessica

While I don't agree that Early Bird (EB) is deceiving, I do agree that it may not be worth the cost - it all depends on your expectations. For someone like me who doesn't care where they sit, I take my chances with regular check-in and save the $. I almost always get a pretty good window or aisle seat on the plane. If you don't want to leave anything to chance, pay for EB. While there are still no guarantees (60 other people could also have purchased EB, for example), you will get a better boarding position than everyone else who did not purchase EB, so your chances of getting a decent seat are pretty good. --Jessica

I'm actually curious about this - I recently completed a trip to and from Florida. Due to the circumstances of being on a cruise with no internet access, I had to check into my return flights less than 12 hours before takeoff. I was prepared be in the Cs for my flights, and I was for my flight from FLL to MDW, but to my surprise I was in the As for my connecting flight from MDW to PHL. When boarding started, an announcement was made that there was plenty of room on the flight as there were only 60 people scheduled to board - everyone was in A group, no Bs or Cs. It was really nice, but definitely the least populated flight I have ever been on to date. Because of this, I was interested to know if Southwest would ever cancel a flight due to low turnout - I'm happy to hear that they won't! --Jessica

@steveGS wrote: SWA is supposed to have a policy that if a flight is going to be very late that you can book another flight without charge. I am not aware of such a policy. If the flight was cancelled that is a different story - but a late flight? Not sure. However, if your flight is delayed enough to cause a missed connection then they will proactively move you to a different flight to get you to your destination at no extra cost. --Jessica
