The point was that the survey still comes up, so maybe the forum will survive. However, you're so ready to pounce, you can't consider any other approach.
You don't like it when someone with a different perspective comes here and voices their views. Incidentally, with my style of leadership and troubleshooting I've become quite wealthy.
So while you call me a troll, I look at my retirement savings and current financial situation and smile.
Maybe you can find another board where everything that you say becomes the final word with no questions asked. Then you'll be happy.

Learned the hard way that this isn’t true. We are traveling with a $6500 viola in a case and were forced to check it at the gate. We begged to gate check it, my daughter in tears, and were refused. There are 4 other musicians on the flight that suffered the same fate. The agent claimed flight was full and we had to check. We understand but why refuse to gate check? It felt personal and mean spirited. This hasn’t happened in my 30 years flying with Southwest. Shame. We are still on the flight expecting to deal with a damaged instrument because we have a connecting flight too. These people just don’t care.

Would it be cool to see this celebrated by bringing back direct service to Pittsburgh. Price suppression may have shorted the revenue on this route in 2006 but Southwest carried 500 people which is 2 daily round trips in today's operation instead of 6.

Thanks, Taylor! Great list! Count my vote in for Anchorage, Alaska (ANC) because I live in Alaska! However, I know there are many variables in where airlines can fly to and from such as how many gates, contract issues, projected customer numbers, etc. However, it would be awesome even if SW Airlines had a winter season option of ANC to Hilo, Hawaii.

In this case, it is a SW Hotels problem, and not a hotel problem (unless the hotel representative was just lying to me, which I find very unlikely.)
The stay/hotel was a refundable pre-paid booking (refundable until about two or three days before the stay, which is typical).
According to the Terms and Conditions, the way the platform works in that scenario is that when you click the link to book and pay, that gets collected by a third-party payment processor ("HotelBeds" is the name of the processor apparently). The selected hotel will then engage in transactions with that processor to collect the pre-paid fee (presumably with a small commission shaved off for Booking.com).
When I spoke with the actual property, they informed me that they canceled the booking (on July 25, three weeks before the actual stay) and any transaction with the processor, and that at the time of that cancellation, they had not collected any money from the processor. In other words, the prepaid funds is held by someone other than the hotel that was closed, presumably the processor. I suspect the funds are held in an escrow-like suspense fund at the processor, but Booking.com is a bit slow to sort all that out.
The good thing is that I'm a lawyer and commercial litigator, so this is what I do and well within my wheelhouse. I posted the warning about the situation given that it's hard to foresee because how the platform operates is actually a bit mysterious, and I don't think others may want to have to go through the efforts this will take (including paying an upfront $1,000 arbitration fee) to recoup a lost $600 hotel booking.

All of this would have been avoided if Southwest would have tossed people off the plane who tried to save seats. No one would save a seat again. Instead, they allow people to abuse the open seating and tell one customer that there is no policy yet tell another that saving seats is forbidden.
Southwest brought this on themselves. Herb would have tossed them off the plane and tossed a refund check in their wake. Who needs customers who are nothing but trouble?

Made this account just to reply to an old thread because lol you are wrong.
Why did SW earn worst airline in America title for 2023?
Why have I flown JetBlue without issues my whole life, but today the first time I took a Southwest flight it was the worst experience I’ve ever had flying in 20 years?
1.) Delayed due to “weather” when other lines were having arrivals from the same region and time.
2.) Pushing off and then having to go back for maintenance issues
3.) Fixing the maintenance issues and then having the pilot time out
Three strikes you’re out, what a bunch of incompetent buffoons. Not once did they attempt to de-board, only after sitting for about an hour and half did they start sheepishly letting people get off. Zero communication the whole time outside of “it shouldn’t take long!!”
Don’t even get me started on the absolutely ridiculous open seating BS.
Trash airline. One and done, never again.

Absolutely! I have and do. And have been asked by entitled folks to 'switch seats' countless times (I decline and then endure their hostile insults and wrath). Can you imagine buying tickets for a Concert or Broadway show and trolling rows closer to the stage asking to switch seats? The number of entitled, spoiled pax flying now is ever growing and ridiculous

I agree, you should still be able to make the change online if the schedule was changed before this update. I gave customer service a call and was able to get my flight changed for free. I'm thinking they are probably getting quite a few calls on this.

I am faced with the same issue and tried to get the reservation resent and it never came through. Luckily I don't need to cancel my reservation and just wanted to confirm it before going to the hotel. I spent hours waiting on the phone for them and never was able to speak to a representative. This is truly bad and i will NEVER book hotels with southwest again. I called the hotel and they have my reservation. I am praying that all goes well and I don't end up getting charged again or that when I get there it get cancelled. What a mess. I could have gotten my stay for a cheaper price elsewhere too but counted on the points which I was promised and now already know that was a total scam. NEVER AGAIN!!!
Hello-
Sorry to hear you've had issues with receiving your Confirmation details. As a fellow traveler, try calling the listed concierge number again via the Southwest Hotels website but at a different time of day and/or day of the week. It's likely when you called, they had a high call volume and could not take your call but they do respond.
Note as general advice that both email and text communications are not foolproof and I've had times when legitimate emails/texts I'm expecting do not reach my inbox as they sometimes get mistakenly filtered or blocked by security software.
As a remedy to this and this goes for any reservation from any provider whether be hotels, air travel, and even online food delivery orders: Always take a screenshot and/or save the confirmation page on the web page before closing the window. In the case of Southwest Hotels, that would be the "You're All Set page" and the PDF receipt from that page. Yes, I agree it would be nice for upcoming SW Hotels/Booking.com reservations to appear on my SW Rapid Rewards account profile for ease of access (I think that would doable under an agreement with Booking.com) but the screenshot or saving-the-page solution is the alternative we have as travelers for now.

Carry on baggage is out of control in my opinion.
I have flown round trip recently, on both flights it seems everyone is carrying more and more stuff onboard. On the return leg of the trip we were delayed because people were going back and forth inside the aircraft trying to find overhead space for their bags (suitcases). It was just crazy.
I've learned to pack extraordinarily light - my smallest suitcase is 16" and can fit underneath the seat in front of me. I remember going on a flight (not Southwest) where overhead bin space was "full" by the time my group boarded, and everyone "had" to gate check their bag. I knew my suitcase was small enough to put underneath the seat, but many others were complaining so loudly that they had to gate check their bags when I am almost positive their things could have fit underneath the seat.
The point is: put things underneath your seat! Not everything needs to go overhead.

Printing tickets is a thing of the past! I don't even think there is an option to print tickets anymore when you check in online; you just go to the airport with your form of identification. If you are checking bags, go to the counter. If you *want* a physical pass at that time, they can give you one. If you already have it on your phone (via the Southwest app or southwest.com, and you can also add the boarding pass to your phone's "wallet"), you don't need a physical copy.

The life hack I've learned for solo traveling is don't worry about early bird so much. You can almost always get a window or aisle seat as a solo traveler, even if you are not in the A group. I used to purchase EB, but no longer do. Then again, another hack is to purchase Anytime fares with EB included, so you don't have to worry about it 😄

Botulinum toxin injections, commonly known for their use in cosmetic treatments to reduce wrinkles, also have therapeutic applications. These injections can treat various medical conditions, including chronic migraines, muscle spasticity, and excessive sweating. By temporarily blocking nerve signals, botulinum toxin injections provide relief and improve the quality of life for patients. Their versatility and effectiveness make botulinum toxin injections a valuable tool in both aesthetic and medical fields.

Showing this thread some love here by doing my part. It appears they are targeting customers by area code. I got a call with the same information but for Spokane, WA. My area code is from this city but i haven't lived there in years. So somewhere they are pulling numbers and checking area codes. The number I was called from was also (480) 931-3046. I've gotten calls from Hilton Honors before, and everyone is US based for promotions, and there is always some money you gotta put in. Don't buy it, total scam. Good Luck yall!

"only sell earlybird for the A boarding position.
There is no way to do that because there is no way to know how many A-Listers will grab A spots until 36 hours before the flight. You could have A50-A60 available and then 10 A Listers buy tickets and grab them.
EBCI only guarantees 2 things:
1) you don't need to worry about checking in at t-24 hours
2) You will get a better boarding position than everyone that checks in manually.
That's it.

Did anyone win anything?
We had 4 family members try for 7 days (28 spins) and didn't win a single point.
Is that suspicious or what! The statistical odds of NOT winning a single point must be astronomical. Does anyone believe they really awarded 25 million points?

Remember that the plane begins boarding 30 minutes before takeoff, so 50 minutes gives you 20 minutes to get to the second plane before it begins boarding.
I've had to go A-11 to B-13, one end of the airport to another, in BWI and it takes 15 minutes.

After 4 flights in 2 days which each had over 25 pre-boarders- I'm over it. And breaking news states that SW has increased the maximum charge for earlybird check-in and upgraded boarding ( up to $149!). That will surely increase the number of pre-boarders.
Also- SW policy regarding saving of seats ( they don't officially have one) has also been put out there on social media and now abused.
Between the 2 policies- the abuse has gotten out of control.
I used to like no assigned seating - but now I wish that Southwest had pre-assigned seating.
