I just check in on my phone/tablet and if needed print the boarding pass at the airport when I arrive. If you don't have a smart phone or tablet and you use the hotel computer most hotels will restart and clear your information after so long of inactivity or after so long on a session (usually 20-45mim session in my experience) it's always best practice to not save your password on a public device just be smart if you use a hotel computer. -Blake

Hold times will be long at the group desk for the next few days. Southwest groups only has so many customer service agents I'm sure all hands are on deck. The bigger thing this time around is the schedule opened up for almost 4 months instead of a month or 2 so call volumes will be very high. Why is it always this way because really its no different than tickets to the great concert being released its like a rat race to get the tickets before the concert sells out some just want to book as soon as they can.

You check in 24 hours before the flight on the app or website. You won't need a passport to go from FL to GA. Southwest has open seating so your boarding group A B or C will show up on your boarding pass when you check in and the position 1-60 will determine where you stand in line to board. Once on board you can pick any open seat (so if you check in early at the 24 hour mark you can most likely avoid the middle seat unless you like the middle seat) -Blake

You should arrive at the airport about 2 hours before your flight. For checking bags you can do it at the self service kiosk or at the full service ticket counter. You can also get your boarding pass here or use the mobile boarding pass on your phone. Once you check your bag head to security have your ID and boarding pass handy. Once your though security you can go to your gate or grab a bite to eat if you have time. Be sure you check in for your flight 24 hours before departure to get the best boarding position as southwest boards by groups ABC the earlier you check in the better your chance of being in the A or B group. Boarding starts 30min before departure so be sure to be at the gate by that time. -Blake

So if you have all 3 confirmation numbers and know 1 name on each reservation you can check in all the reservations. For the group reservation (booked though the group department) once you click check in it will ask if you want to check everyone in you click the checkbox to do that and it will give you all boarding numbers. For the other 2 reservations it will check everyone in once you click check in (no selecting who to check in) How to check in all the reservations: I would have 1 reservation set up to check in on a phone 1 on a computer 1 on a tablet (or just 3 devices) that way at T-24 hours you can click check in on all of them at the same time. If you only have 1 device available do the group reservation first so the majority are checked in and maybe they can save the other few a seat. -Blake

I usually see schedules show up by 9am Central (Dallas time) at the latest but it releases in batches so it takes just a couple hours for it to load once they begin that process. most Southwest things (sales, promotion start/finish, schedule releases) are done in central time. -Blake

If southwest changed your flight you can make a free change within 72 hours after the 72 hours you would need to reach out to reservations 800-435-9792 or Facebook or Twitter DM and they can rebook you without a fare difference. If you rebooked and paid when you shouldn't have (Ig southwest made the schedule change) i would Contact Customer Relations to see if they can get your extra points back because 10000 is a lot of points to say oh well to. If the schedule had more flights added but your flight wasn't changed then yes you would be responsible for the difference in points -Blake

I believe the "changes may eliminate qualifying" would be for those who change to a flight after November 18th since that would be outside of the travel window to earn the promotional companion pass. Last year I changed my flight (within the travel by period) and still qualified for the companion pass. -Blake

I have seen some people who had status last year get a promotion where they can fly a Round Trip or 2 (depending on specific offer) and that would extend status though next year. I would log in to your RR account and check out the promotion section in case you have such an offer. Also if you register and book a RT flight or 2 one ways you can earn a promotional companion pass for Jan 6th-Febuary 28th. You would need to book by 11:59pm Central tonight though for this offer. -Blake

Just a thought If your traveling on a round trip or 2 one way flights before 11/18 you might consider using the luv voucher and if you book by Thursday you will get a companion pass for Jan 6th-Febuary 28th. You can register for the promotion on southwest.com and save the points for when you have the companion pass Southwest Brings Back Limited-Time Promotional Companion Pass Offer -Blake

If you are a customer of size you can buy 2 seats and get the 2nd one refunded after travel is completed. Other than that unfortunately they don't allow you to buy 2 seats just becauae you want more space although I think it should be allowed if the customer is willing to pay for the 2nd seat. If you even just slightly spill over to the other seat you can take advantage of the COS policy. -Blake

Unfortunately at this time you can't cancel just 1 person off of a reservation online you would need to reach out to Southwest at 800-435-9792, use the in app chat feature, or reach out to Southwest on Facebook/Twitter for assistance. I find social media and the in app chat to be the quickest as wait times on the phone will be long. If the other passenger doesn't need to use the funds right away you could also cancel the other passenger at the airport at the ticket counter since you can cancel up to 10min prior to departure. -Blake

Unfortunately now days a lot of adults seem to act like kindergarteners on flights so this might be why the crew had to constantly remind people to wear the mask. With the WiFI issues they happen remember the days WiFi didn't exist on planes and we would either read a book, talk to a neighbor, or listen to music. Sorry you didn't enjoy your trip Your welcome to share your feedback with southwest directly though one of these contact methods Contact Customer Relations

So with Nrw Orleans the hurricane has had a major effect on flights and unfortunately it looks as if southwest has modified flights in/out of MSY though October 2nd. Since the airline changed your flight you can change to another flight with sane city pairs free of charge no fare difference required. Also because of the current situation in New Orleans Southwest is allowing those traveling to/from New Orleans between now and October 2nd to fly to another airport with no difference in fare. You can fly to Houston (IAH OR HOU), Jackson MS (JAN), or Pensacola (PNS) pet fees to MSY are also being waived. You should be able to change your flight on the app or website however if you get an error you can reach out to Southwest on Facebook or Twitter in a DM or reach out to reservations for assistance 800-435-9792 -Blake

If you earned the companion pass you can take 1 person at a time to fly free (just pay the government taxes starting at $5.60 one way) you can't use a companion pass on top of a companion pass so if you have the pass and your wife has the pass you can't make her a companion then your wife add your child as her companion (no buy 1 get 2 free) if you have your wice as a companion she can fly free then you buy a ticket for your child. Hope that makes sense -Blake

I guess my question would be what would happen in delays the airline can't control (weather, airport closures) i feel like the airline would then lose and be giving everyone free stock because once one flight is delayed the rest of that day will be delayed unless they can swap planes and crews.

Not everyone is aware of that policy where if they are a customer of size they can buy a 2nd seat and get it refunded later or just get a 2nd seat free at the gate on day of departure. Others just hate having that conversation with a gate agent because well it's weird "hey can i have a 2nd seat because I'm big" Personally I think for those who use the COS policy they should have a more noticeable piece of paper not just a boarding pass because I do see people get upset because others think they are just saving seats when in fact they have a right in this case vs the regular debate of saving seats which is a whole other ball game. -Blake

Sorry your disappointed unfortunately in life things break WiFi included sure you may have to work on the flight but airlines won't delay a flight to fix the WiFI because otherwise others would be here complaining that that were delayed to fix the WiFi. Remember the days WiFi didn't exist on planes treat that flight like one of the old days. With route changes they are tough but they happen your best bet is to share your feedback with Southwest directly about the WiFI issues and route changes. Contact Customer Relations -Blake
