The end of the community feels like a funeral of friends some here I will miss others not so much and looking back at the good times and bad times here (The Spam attack that shut the community down, trolls, and the random laughable spam posts, The December Meltdown but not in red 😜) I will miss the chatting here but hopefully Southwest will reconsider in the future and relaunch a forum and maybe a new and improved one

one thing I will say is thanks to this community I met several new lifelong friends and it’s nice to have a group of people who have the same LUV for Southwest and travel in general
Thanks to this community I met @DancingDavidE and many other great people who I’ve actually met up with in life and become great friends outside of the community such as pop up trips to Disney world or a hello in the airport on a layover. Something I never thought would come from an online community but I’m glad I was able to help people wherever I could with travel/Southwest questions and learn from others at the same time.
I will miss the community but hopefully for many it’s not goodbye but see you soon as you can find many of us on Reddit and other travel blogs and social media platforms.

if you book a WGA ticket with a voucher you lose the transferability of the voucher, however you will not have an expiration date you can always book WGA+ to keep the transferability down the road should you need to use the funds on someone else later
also if you book a flight with the voucher it won’t cover taxes but you can book a flight pay the taxes immediately cancel and get a refund of the taxes to your Credit card and those travel funds will actually cover the taxes when you rebook so yes it’s an extra step to book cancel and rebook but that way it’s no actual money out of your pocket unless the voucher won’t cover the ticket cost
now with the promotion going on yes using the voucher will still count but remember you must register then book by tonight then fly by November 20th complete both flights

Yes when I clicked on it from the app it says 404 error but to get around it you can go to the full website/mobile website (not app) and when you log in go to your account and you will find the promotion section click on the promotion for the companion pass then click register

So I’ve noticed some issues connecting on iPhone and the work around I have found to work is agree to the texting terms (for inflight texting) then go back to the WiFi page and see if it loads in my experience after I go to the texting it loads but that’s on iPhone. It was fixed for a while but my last 6 flights have had this issue

Did you end up getting a hotel? If so, I would fill out the form that The QR code takes you to include the receipt for your meal and Hotel as well as request a voucher for the inconvenience and they will respond to you within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with that response you can always create a case disputing the outcome. If the flight was already closed in the system, then their hands are tied because the captain would have to allow them to reopen the flight at that point. The gate closes 10 minutes prior to flight departure. I know it’s frustrating but hopefully they can make it right once you fill out the online form.
