Hi @TheMiddleSeat, Quick question. If the passenger makes the reservation now without the RR#, EBCI can be purchased as you mentioned. My question is after the reservation is made and EBCI is purchased, can’t the passenger immediately go into the reservation and add a RR# now instead of waiting until A-List status expires on Jan 1? I’m curious. 🙂 All the best, ILV2fly

Hi @olivia1919, I am just as excited and anxious for status updates when I apply for jobs with the best airline in the world! Rest assured the People Department hasn’t forgotten. They’re simply hard at work screening applicants. To give some perspective, I’ve seen stats that Southwest receives 375,000 applications a year. Assuming 250 working days, that breaks down to an average of 1,500 applications every day. WOW!! I've noticed status updates can occur anywhere from just a few weeks to several months (flight attendant applications). The best way to check the status of your application is always through your dashboard. I find my dashboard updates first. Then I receive a follow-up email a day or two later. In the meantime, you are more than welcome to continue applying to jobs for which you’re qualified. Best of luck! ILV2fly

Hi @Jamal_Moreland, I can’t speak to your specific situation, but I have submitted applications where the status went directly to “closed complete”. My best guess is the automated screener either didn’t like how many times I answered “no” or I answered “no” to screening questions that needed to be answered with “yes”. All the best, ILV2fly

Hi @kbethea48, I can’t speak to your specific situation, but I have submitted applications where the status went directly to “closed complete”. My best guess is the automated screener either didn’t like how many times I answered “no” or I answered “no” to screening questions that needed to be answered with “yes”. If this is the case with your application, it would be best to look at some of your “no” answers and determine how to be able to answer them differently when the position is posted again next August. In the meantime, you can create job notifications so you’ll receive automated emails for other positions at Southwest if you’d like. All the best, ILV2fly

Hi @KelbyTansey, I have eagerly waited over a year to apply and did so earlier today. I’m sure this position is extremely competitive, but I look forward to the possibility of learning to lead The Southwest Way. I look forward to hearing from your Recruiting Team. Have an awesome day! ILV2fly

Hi @Skylifegrl, It may be best to reach out directly to your contact at Southwest. This is more so a peer-to-peer forum, not necessarily a forum in which we can provide accurate answers for your specific employment situation. @KelbyTansey is one of the current employees who monitors this site. She or another current employee would be able to point you in the right direction. Congratulations on joining the Southwest Family! ILV2fly

Hi @frenchie, The status on my dashboard usually changes at least a day or two before I receive a rejection email. For example, a status for one of my applications changed on Friday, but I didn’t receive an email until today. I wouldn’t be surprised if the emails are getting hung up or delayed in the system for some reason. Also, make sure you keep an eye on your spam folder. My emails still end up there occasionally, even though I’ve marked the email address as “not spam” in the past. Hang in there! ILV2fly

Due to your policy regarding A-Listers and standby.... We got home four hours EARLY yesterday! My business meeting was cancelled last minute, allowing us to get to the airport earlier than originally planned. There were seats available so we were able to make the earlier flight. Thank you for being flexible with A-Listers when our schedules change. It’s one of the many reasons we continue to fly Southwest!

Hi @Coach32, Congratulations on being selected for the next step! Rest assured, they haven’t forgotten about you. Although I don’t work for Southwest (yet?!?), I can guarantee the People Department is working diligently, sorting through thousands of applications to find the right Co-hearts to join the In-Flight Family. Enjoy the wait now because the pace will pick up as your progress through the pipeline. Good luck! ILV2fly

I flew Japan Airlines in 2010. I don't remember much. I guess that means I need to fly them again?! I flew Emirates in 2013. Very impressive! The women greeted us in business suits with skirts and head pieces. The men greeted us in business suits with vests. (They took their jackets off for the duration of the flight.) They handed us wash clothes to wash our hands as soon as we sat down. They also gave us stickers to use for service. One sticker to receive service and one sticker for "do not disturb". Based on what I wanted at the time, I put the sticker on my seat and the crew responded accordingly. What a fun way to take the awkward "Do I wake her up or do I let her sleep?" out of the food service. I've heard amazing compliments about Singapore Airlines and hope to fly them one day. (If you haven't been to Singapore, it is a MUST! I've been to more than 25 countries in the last seven years. I can easily say Singapore is one of my favorite countries and is, by far, my favorite Asian country.) But in the end, Southwest still has my heart. Cheers! ILV2fly

Hi @VickeyF Here’s more of Kelby’s response to a similar question: “Although we do not currently have positions posted for these roles, you can find all of our open positions at southwest.com/careers. We recommend checking regularly, as posted opportunities do change often. You can also sign up to receive job alerts via email at workfor.us/southwest (on desktop).” Good luck! ILV2fly

Hi @VickeyF Unfortunately Southwest does not currently have a call center in Greensboro, NC or the surrounding areas. From my understanding, they do not offer any positions in which you can work from home, either. Raleigh and Charlotte appear to be the closest airports they service, if I recall correctly, so you’d have to drive to one of those airports and work as an agent at the airport. Here’s what @KelbyTansey, a Southwest Employee, wrote in another post: “We have Customer Support Call Centers located in: Albuquerque, Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, and Phoenix. We also have a Customer Relations Team located at our Headquarters in Dallas that has an environment very similar to a call center.” Good luck! ILV2fly

Hi @emmy, Have you already created a username and password for the application site like you did for your dashboard? If not, that may explain why it doesn’t recognize the information. This site may be a completely different site that requires you to register again? I’m not familiar with the link in your email so this is my best guess. @KelbyTansey may be able to help! Good luck! Hi @sheppard747, Here’s a more accurate answer. I found it in a different discussion. This was Kelby Tansey’s response. She is an Employee. “Our Recruiters will reach out via phone call and will leave a voicemail. If they can't reach you after trying that avenue, they will then follow-up with an email. No need to worry -- our Recruiting process is planned in a way to give multiple Communication touch-points to our Candidates. Best of luck!” Hope this clears up my earlier response. Good luck! Hi @GMayfield, Southwest absolutely accepts donations! I’m not sure if/how it works with travel funds as I’ve only ever heard references to number of points donated. @KelbyTansey can provide much more accurate information since she’s an actual Employee. (I’m curious for her answer, too.) What a thoughtful idea! ILV2fly

Hi @sheppard747, Did you apply through https://corporatecareers-southwest.icims.com? If so, you can follow the progress of your resume on that site. After logging in, click on the dashboard hyperlink in the upper right hand corner. Then scroll down passed the “General Options” section to the “Past Job Submittals” section. This section should list any corporate jobs for which you’ve applied (there’s a different dashboard for Airport Operations and Flight Attendant positions). Each entry should have a status such as “Received Submission”, “Resume Review: In Progress”, or “Closed Complete”. The status of each application is updated as it moves through the pipeline. It sounds as though Southwest primarily reaches out by email first.* Be sure to keep an eye on your spam/junk folders so you don’t miss an important email. Please keep in mind Southwest receives hundreds of thousands of resumes every year so their response may be a bit delayed. Rest assured they aren’t ignoring you. The People Department is hard at work to ensure they fill the positions with the right Co-Hearts. Good luck! ILV2fly *Disclaimer: These are only my observations/opinions. An actual Employee may provide different information.

Hi @DancingDavidE, I’m very familiar with ATL. I was stranded there for two and half days. I wasn’t mad at all (because that wouldn’t have changed the fact I was stranded due to ice). As fun as that sounds, you’ll be stuck with high fares if you do that. You can still be spontaneous, but planning ahead and being flexible helps. For example, my fiancé found a flight from DAL to PHX for $42. It was one of the first flights out on a Saturday. We had flexibility so we returned from PHX to DAL on Monday night for $66. He found these tickets within two weeks of travel, maybe even just a week ahead of travel. Although it wasn’t as random as just showing up, we couldn’t pass up this “last minute” deal. On a different trip, he found a one-way ticket from PIT to DAL for $39! Granted, it was an early flight on a Sunday, but well worth it. Again, he found this ticket within a week or two of travel. We’ve also done some day trips with his pass. We’d leave on one of the first flights of the day and return on one of the last flights of the day. Those trips are fun but can be exhausting. One tidbit I’d like to point out in case you don’t know - your wife can fly on your companion pass even when you use points!! My fiancé and I flew to San Juan, Puerto Rico for $22.40!!! He used points so both of us flew for taxes only!! December 31st hasn’t happened yet, but I already know it will be one of the saddest days of the year because it’s our last day with his pass. We’ve enjoyed the extra memories made possible by that pass.
