The answer is how I have always understood it to be and I wish more gate agents would hold people accountable to this policy. Kudos to this one who did.

I appreciate that there are rules and regulations and do my best to follow them. It’s very frustrating to see multiple people carrying on more than 2 items. I’m not sure if it’s the gate agents being in haste to board folks or not wanting to be confrontational but it would only take a few times to enforce this policy to ensure it’s followed by all. I do not see a lot of abuse but saw several abuses today for some reason.

Just to add to the thread. We too have seeabuse often. Most recent was a pre-board passenger who boarded and exited on a wheel chair. Once off she discovered she had left something and literally got up out of the wheelchair and RAN back to the plane. I like the recommendations to be seated towards the back unless for a true disability where it's a need to have the extra leg room of the front. Another time for a family trip we noticed a family board in C. They may not have been aware of the SW policy or EB. They were on the return flight as well. This time the eldest was in a wheelchair with someone accompanying her. They literally saved at least 9 seats in the front rows and we even saw people try to sit there and they got violent about it when they said no to them. Many issues going on here. If you could stop the seat saving that would help as well.

This is sad. One of the outstanding things about this airline has been the customer service and I have experienced the same lack of concern about this issue. I will have flown 3 times this week already and what may be small to some is not small for those who specifically choose this airline for our travel because of the rewards for loyalty. I am in the customer service industry as well and it's been disappointing as far as the response or lack of. Do we know when there will be a resolution? Simply stating you can board after A is not the answer I am looking for.

I know it's a Southwest mystery about boarding positions but I just have to ask. I just checked in (I typically do even though I am A List Preferred and request my boarding pass be texted). I booked travel for myself, daughter, grandson and my husband who is my Companion and is an A List status. How is it that I have position B 45 as A List Preferred and my Companion is A 16 and other family A 20 and 21? PLEASE explain. I know I can board after A and before B but this is crazy and what is the benefit of A List Preferred?

Experienced that today. Extreme cases of seat saving. Exit row (entire row) saves for non A group boarders. When a gentleman said he wanted to sit there because he had boarded I was waiting for the fight to break out. Also witnessed another entire row saved (not exit). It really is getting crazy bad.

Once again the saving seats lack of policy to hold to the boarding by position number is an issue. Just boarded and several seats saved again for people not even in the same boarding group. Only a matter of time until this causes a major confrontation. Please do not let this airline be the next on social media for failure to address this.
